As more cards get tossed down the garbage disposal that is Wild this original quest deck just gets stronger and stronger. Forget about having any fun whatsoever and any chance of beating it cuz it will barely hang on time and time again. Freeze and repeat iceblocks then bam stupid mindless combo u lose.
In over 150 games in Wild to get my 1000 wins Lock portrait (R5 - Legend) I encountered probably 2 or 3 Mages and they all played some highlander Reno deck that I defeated pretty easy.
With the absurd amount of Mech Paladin, Face Hunter and Pirate Warrior decks quest mage is just hilariously slow. Not to mention it's even not Tier 2 deck atm. I doubt you faced it more then 2 times and it was not even R5 or above 100% also.
Not to mention Secret Mage > Quest Mage 24/7 in Wild also.
Yeah well i still hate it. I guess i face it more than you. I don't play braindead aggro like you seem to play so try a slower deck then we'll talk
It sucks to play your counter dude, but it’s a card game so get used to it I guess. Really quest mage has never been super good, it just crushes the hell out of control decks.

Yup. OP did not even mention any recent improvements for Exodia mage. It is frustrating to lose against it it is actually a pretty weak archetype.
If you want to complain, do so with combo warlocks, mech paladin and pirate warrior. Mecha'thun lock is by far the best otk deck in Wild atm, and it is more tricky to counter with cards like Dirty Rat.
If you meet the morons that play that garbage Solitaire deck you are just unlucky, but probably if you are playing control you have an easier time than them on ladder, because they get stomped very hard by aggro. It doesn't really need nerfs. Face is the place.
If anything, Secret Mage is braindead retarded, and much more popular. I think Kabal Crystal Runner (Make it like Thing from Below), Explosive Runes (reduce damage to 5) and/or Arcanologist (make it a 1/3) need a nerf (mild ones as I suggested, to open for more counterplay but without killing it).
And yes, Mecha'cthun is very strong. If the meta slows down and it becomes popular I swear I will at least try Saboteur Quest Shaman ahahah. CATACLYSM!
Right now Wild is in such a better state than Standard, there are so many viable and fun decks, the healthy aggro decks cured the Big Priest cancer that now infests Standard with Deathrattle Rogue.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Remember playing Control Shaman with Reincarnate shenanigans? No? It was fun, here's a refresher!
I play my Midrange Deathrattle Hunter and encounter at rank 4-L around 70% aggro... Secret Mage, Mech Paladin and Pirate Warrior. Most games are decidet until turn 6, I lose or the aggro Player concedes...
Is it realy more fun for you to play only till turn 4?

This. (Except for the part regarding secret mage, which is annoying, overpowered, but not broken, just another good aggro deck).
I get the frustration to be defeated by a combo deck. But that's the spirit of the game. Combo defeats control that defeats aggro. On wild, things get more tricky due to the evergreen nature, which favors the extremes (I.e. aggro and combo).
Anyway, OP, I think you are experienced enough to know that... sometimes playing an aggro deck to smorc your opponent makes you fell better. You should try it! ;)

I am not sure if aggro and combo decks are that favoured. It matters the most who has the most broken synergies.
Odd rogue and odd paladin are tempo decks.
Even Shaman is mid-range, going faster in most recent versions.
Jade druid and big priest are control
And they have all been very good in the format some time during the last year. Valdris Felgorge is just a bonkers card in the format, so slower warlocks have just gotten a huuuge boost.
LOL if you think quest mage is cancer, id like to hear your thoughts on mech paladin, odd paladin, murloc paladin, pirate warrior, secret mage, odd rogue, mech hunter, big priest, murloc shaman, even shaman, overload shaman, and token druid please.
It's another I'm salty and I NEED to tell everyone about it in its own thread instead of putting it in the salt thread because THIS case is important to ME!

I understand your point, but in my post, I only considered the 3 basic archetypes: aggro, control and combo
In this way: odd rogue, odd pally, even shaman - aggro (nowadays, odd pally is a joke next to mech paladin); big priest can be considered a combo deck since it's best matchups are against control decks (remember that combo decks are not only OTK/TTK ones, but also those that need an specific combination of cards to fulfill its role, in this case, you need your minions to die in order to resurrect them, flooding the board with big minions). Jade druid is the only control deck in here - and it sucks nowadays.
Ppl that disagree with OP dont actually play wild quest reno mage is tier 1 for a reason which it is beats everthing even counters like secret mage, also its otk can be done as soon as turn 8-9 so good luck countering or rushing that

Really going to need a change one day soon...

Well, all decks get stronger with new cards, so..
Yeah, a toast!

lol what. Wild is full of aggro decks that completely destroy quest mage.
The quest is best played in Reno decks than the original exodia combo.

He is referring to Exodia mage not Reno Quest mage. The former is not a tier 1 deck.
