Every time we get new cards it's about two weeks before everyone starts complaining about the meta. Control meta: too expensive! Aggro meta: I'm annoyed I lose fast instead of slowly and painfully! I think a lot of the new cards in this expansion are really fun and powerful and brig back a lot of nostalgic decks + way more chance to experiment than the last expansion. Maybe if we weren't all so salty at decks we wish had we'd realize how good the game is.
Edit: I was inspired to ask this based on some threads from yesterday and the new hearthstone bot video where they said they're disappointed. If this thread proves me wrong and people are more upbeat, I will be very happy.
You wanna know the funny/ironic thing here? When Friz was announced as a neutral legendary, everyone freaked. Clearly, he was "op" and gonna turn the meta upside down with his dragon pets for months until his rotation.
Fast forward till today and he's barely played and is barely impacting the meta at all due to the heavy aggro meta that sprung up from the shaman reign previously. Oh, the sad delicious irony of card analysis...
this meta is not that bad compared to witchwood and boomsday. There were alot more unfun decks to play agains t back then.
Man, can you imagine if Baku the Mooneater and Genn Greymane hadn't been rotated to HOF? Odd and Even decks would still be ruling the meta.
Hence they WERE rotated. The devs knew this expansion was coming, probably for at least a year or maybe even two. They plan these things way more far ahead then i first ever thought. Thank god that got woken up to Odd/Even broken-ness early as they did.
Otherwise you're right. While I did enjoy some even decks, the odd were always way more broken and aggro related. No thanks. We don't need that on top of the smorc fiasta we already got going.
I think for a lot of people they get upset because of the amount of money poured into THIS game.
Yes, you can spend a lot more on MTG, or you can still spend money on cosmetics in CS, but dedicated players and even some fringe players are dropping 3k gold and then $50 to $80 for an expansion + upon opening packs and seeing they are short on cards another 20 pack.
So, it's a lot of money to "feel" you are being slighted, or that things are out of balance. Not that I agree with this, but I do feel that we as players spend quite a bit of money and are allowed some room to gripe. Just not griping about things that need to take time to sort out like the meta.
Im salty because I want to have fun with all these incredible new cards, playing my damn control dragon decks
BUT I CAN'T
BECAUSE OF THE FUCKING CANCER AGGROS AND BRAINLESS COMBOS.
Dragons have always been focused around midrange/tempo builds. When people start getting tired of the aggro (personally, i love quick matches), then they will make the meta control based. That is where the midrange/tempo will have their turn.
So take it from an aggro player... There are starting to be a lot of control deck i have been facing in the 1-5 range that i have been matched against. Hell, my break right now was to look up a tempo deck to run because i had 4 straight losses to control.
TLDR: Chill out you people that bitch about this meta. It is healthy.

A lot of nostalgic decks? You mean a collection of cancers like Face Hunter, Pirate Warrior and Quest Rogue on stereoids?
Not ok Boomer. 🤮
I actually don’t mind the meta right now. There’s a lot of different deck types that are viable
Seriously?
Shōsei
So aggro is back? Happens everytime. I liked midrange and loved deathrattle.
Control is supposed to beat aggro so you are doing it wrong

because u don't need to actually play to win games. do you wanna win? just play op cards, smorc, rng, etc. it's a f*cking total waste of time ;D

I love these salt posts about how upsetting it is everyone is salty. The irony. Again and again.
