Shaman is far from obliterated. That thread title is exaggerated.
We all got Jebaited thinking some kind of meaningful change was in the pipe, so I can at least understand people are confused. As a Rogue player it just makes me sad that tons of people will play the class only to take advantage of obviously broken synergies, but that's the state of the game.

If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
I'm glad they hit Mogu. Hopefully the hit is big enough that they just cut the whole mogu mutate package entirely. Other than that nothing changes. We still have to deal with 16/16 rush + arcanite reaper on turn 7. We still have to deal with necrium apothecary. I will say that having Dragon's Pack active on 5 is going to be a bit harder now that coin elementalist is off the table, but that's not enough to stop the deck.
Less "Shaman obliterated" and more "Shaman mildly inconvenienced."
Fairly soft nerfs tbh. I do think it will make a difference when it really matters. But the strongest galakrond shaman cards are still there (Dragon's pack & Shudderwock).
Hm. Kinda sad. They didn't nerf the insane turn 7-9 4x 8/8 rush and 2x 5/2 weapon. So slow midrange and control decks will never be viable in this meta because of this.
But! These changes make aggro decks more viable against gala shaman. weaker sludge slurper and mogu way harder to bring out. I actually think shaman players will rotate the mogu mutate combo out now.
So I think the meta will definetely shift to more aggro stuff, because that seems to be a good answer against the new cancer highroll rouge as well.
Obliterated seems harsh but II think it does hit shaman harder than some think. It's still viable I think but it will have a significantly hard(er) mission against aggro decks. which benefit from the loss in tempo. The shaman class cards nerfs seem fair to me. Faceless Corrupter still looks very strong though but I'm glad they at least did something to it. I'm curious to see how much of an impact it will have. Bear in mind, they don't want to make it unplayable (like warsong commander), just make it less powerfull.
Don't get me wrong, Shaman is my least favorite class, at least to play with, and I wouldn't have bothered if they shattered every card they have but it seems reasonable to me.
The Sludge Slurper nerf is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. The other nerfs doesnt really touch the issues bar the Elementalist one, we will still have the Face HunterWarrior, Combo Rogue and Galashaman running amok. How the hell they did not lower Dragon Pack to 4/5 is beyond me.
I'm really surprised they didn't change the wording on Faceless Corrupter. As it is now you can get infinite Shudderwock chains with that and Barista/Bog Slosher. This was the whole reason they changed [card]Saronite Chain Gang[card]. Now they just printed a new card that does the same but is an even more powerful tempo play.
So even if Galakrond Shaman falls off there's a good change we could see another Infinite Shudderwock deck. Possibly built around the quest, which is already very strong.
The amalgam change is interesting! Although it makes curator that much stronger. Kinda of a shame, I enjoyed the menagerie strat, but that is super dead in the water now. No Bran, No amalgam means it won't be much good anymore. Also Murlocs are are hurt by this as well. Specifically the bran change hurts them the most.

I can't fucking handle three more fucking months of fucking shudderwock fucking shit
Good thing they laid the hammer down on Sludge Slurper, that card was out of control. How will shaman still be viable?
That bait title though.
Release the Kraken!

these changes seem like they will have little to no effect?

Cumulus Maximus is laughing so hard right now.
Thank GOD!
FK and all the crappy players who cheated their way to legend, cause they know they couldn't do it without a broken deck.
Have fun getting wrekt all the time now

These nerfs will literally change nothing...

Let's all play Shaman or something else until we get real nerfs.
evolving Mogu just became somewhat better now.
just put it in a murloc lackey shaman deck, and get yourself some easy early 10 drops.
Pretty sure OP is trying to make a second degree joke
