Hello people, i would like to explain you how i became from Shaman hater to Shaman player.
Before the new expansion we had that Shaman quest deck that was tier 0 on EU server at least. I am 3 years old HS player and i can tell that no deck was so annoying for me like this one. I stopped HS for a bit, then Battleground came out which mod i enjoyed a lot. Like always i was very excited about the new expansion and like a lot of players was hoping that Blizzard will slow a bit down the Shaman power but.... the opposite happened. I dont want to judge any one, i am sure Blizzard has very talented and knowledgeable people working in the company, but how the printed so powerfull cards once again for Shaman ? What they were thinking ? And now they announced Shaman nerfs after 2 days :))) This is really so funny.
I would like also to express my disappointment about the Paladin new cards. After the expansion release I started to experiment with Paladin first as it is my favorite class. After a lot of testing i realised how bad the new cards are. Giving your minions (if they survive) early in the game +1/+1 is ok, not so impresive in todays meta when you have 5 mana 10/8 rush, and if you draw this card later in the game it is a completely trash card. 3/6 taunt is very strong in early game but if you draw it later again you may never be able to activate it (this is still is my favorite paladin card from the expansion and i am running 1 copy of this in my pure pala). Now the Lightforged Zealot and Lightforged Crusader in my opinion is very bad desigh. The first 1 is ok good tempo but the second one is giving you 5 RANDOM cards and Paladin has a lot of trash cards lately so i dont know... The biggest problem for me about the Pure Paladin deck is that you can not use the best card of the expansion the Faceless Corruptor. So you pay a LOT to earn so LITTLE.
After Paladin i tried other classes too except Shaman of course i was hating it that time. I was on rank 5, i dont know the exact number but i am prety sure that more than 50 % were Shamans and no matter what deck i was using i keeping losing to them more than 80%. At that point i realised that i can not beat him so if you cant beat them join them. Problem solved, i took legend in some hours. I had 50% versus Shaman and more than 80% versus everything else ( the easiest games of my life).
I really enjoy the process of making decks, this is my favorite part of the game but no matter how creative you can be and how beautifull ideas you may have you will always lose to that broken cards. So i am asking you ! How can you be mad with me ? You have to be mad with the game that is not able to support a balanced meta.
Once you're aware of how powerful it is, relative to the meta, you've made your choice. You clearly will rationalize whatever, but you have made a choice, and that choice is to play an OP deck that locks out much of the other classes. Own it, enough of the disingenuity.

If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
I played against a bunch of them the past few days. Made the deck myself, and played 5 games. Won them all easily and in extremely unfair ways despite not even getting decent mulligans.
Back to playing Reno Mage. I can't play degeneracy like the way Shaman is right now. It doesn't feel good to win with it and it sure as hell doesn't feel good to lose to it.
As for a balanced meta: I mean, it's pretty clear that they're fully incompetent at doing this. Is it even a debate at this point?
Hey you wanted legend not an interesting challenge. I don’t know if it feels as good knowing it was achieved through a low effort objectively broken deck. This is why I laugh at those that keep legend card back all the time. Personally I found the deck boring after winning a bit and the mirrors even more boring so I’m gonna wait til the the patches.
Are you seriously looking for validation? Yes you can play whatever the hell you want and yes shaman is the best deck to climb with. But don't expect to get an ounce of pity. Other things work, and can get you to legend just fine, so there are other options. My issue is in some backwards warped mentality half the shamans I play bm spam or emote when they win. It completely eludes me how these players think that it required more than a single brain cell to pilot a deck that literally plays itself. A bot could pilot the current iteration of shaman to legend with no issue. You just vomit stats onto the board and then win.
And the icing on the cake is shaman can even play cocky and win however it wants. You can outvalue any other class. You can out board control every other class. And you sure as shit can out tempo any other class.
Hearthstone used to be a game where flooding the board was punishable by a clear and then you were out of gas. I have played shamans that flood the board for fear of overdraw. That's a completely backwards notion and goes completely against the grain.
But yeah, do what you want, it's a game. But shaman is scummy right now, and you'll get no pity or validation for playing it.
Don't worry about what other people think. If you play or even live like that, you'll find yourself holding back on opportunities that could take you places. Just do it.
You're quite right to say it's the game balance that is the problem and not the players using the "unbalance". I fully agree with you.
Now you have to understand the feeling of those like me trying new decks and facing shamans most of the time (I've tried shaman too, don't worry). Sometimes I must admit facing yet another shaman makes me just not being nice to the player because I'm so bored with it and when the first 3 turns are again and again the exact same cards... well I sometimes loose my shit...

"In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is."
