Standard is pretty bad right now, but I am not sure if this is the worst ever. Some reminders:
1: 2-mana Unleash the Hounds combined with 2-mana Starving Buzzard which made hunters be a HIGHER playrate than Shaman has now, split between face, midrange and aggro versions.
2: The original Undertaker eventually became a 2-of in pretty much every deck, including warriors where it had no business being, but they were forced to to keep up. Some casters said a vanilla "deathrattle: do nothing" card would be viable.
3: 1-2 Small-Time Buccaneer along with a charge Patches the Pirate is still th best 1-drop in the game ever, especially as it was very easy to equip a weapon for shaman and warrior. Remember this was also the time of 2-mana Fiery War Axe and 1-mana Spirit Claws. These decks were maybe not quite as dominant as current top decks, but were waaay faster, and the meta after the MSG release quickly became the most aggressive ever.
4: 5-5 Corridor Creeper was also a broken card which also found its way into nearly every deck, even though it was intended as a token synergy card.
Don't hate the expansion, hate the developers !
