I decide to concede all the games vs shaman and play only the fun ones and is the best experience in HS I have in years.
The only bad part is concede 5 or 6 times before my games start...
lol. same here. i conceded all the way to rank 5 zero stars. the worst was like 7 times in a row. it's basically play the game and have fun, or concede when u see shaman.
what a great game.
i really don't like battlegrounds, but at least we have another mode to play now.
I’m just using one and Godfrey. Save the Nether for the 8/8s and quite a lot of the time the Godfrey isn’t even played. They spend most of the game removing your board rather than the other way around.
Galakrond Shaman is a colossal FuBAR by Blizzard. It's worse than the old Undertaker Christmas Tree Paladin days by far. All the stupid rush minions and lackeys allow it to negate agro's early game with ease while having huge swing turns and value in the late game so that it can beat almost any control deck. And the stupid 4x8/8 effectively eliminates any class without full board clears (Druid in particular) from the game.
No one little change is going to fix this mess, but as it stands, it is pointless to play anything else on ranked.
All I’m saying is that I’m doing just fine. I’m not at a legend rank but I’ve gone from rank 13 to rank 4 using these two decks in the two days since the expansion came out. Clearly the stats suggest that I’m just getting lucky but I’m currently not feeling too much frustration seeing all the Shamans. I mean, I’d like a bit more variety in the matches... but it’s not nearly as bad as Evolve Shaman was IMO.
I’m playing with a Galakrond Rogue and a Handlock and for both decks Galakrond Shaman is my easiest match-up with both. Just save your AOE for the 4 8/8 turn and then win the game.
'save your AOE' while playing Galakrond rogue. what AOE do you have in mind sir?

Meanwhile Im beating people with Galakrond Shaman without even playing it, his invoke shanenigans are way more annoying.
Exactly this. The card that actually should be nerfed in my opinion is that 5 mana 3/3 double invoke. With the quest especially.
I think that card is an obvious mistake. Since invoke does more than just one thing (it powers up not only galakrond but also the wolves and gives you double hero power) It gets exponentially better than other invoke cards by doubling. It makes galakrond too consistent of a deck and that should be its weakness. Can you imagine this in warrior? 5 mana 3/3 + 6 face damage AND power up scion immediately? And warrior doesn’t even care about playing galakrond itself that much while for shaman it is an insane win condition.
I think fixing that (have it invoke once and some other effect) and making the rushes 1/2 or 1/3 should be enough of a fix.
The meta is absolutely fine, no nerf needed. Noobs should start including aoe board wipes and not just include big minions like kids. And also these standard kids must be made to shut their mouth!!
It's either incompetence in design/testing, or one the most ingenious milking strategy in digital games to date. Started playing 1 month before Naxx, and so far, it's been the same shitshow every.single.expansion.
Could be both but the latter is more likely. Considering the huge number of Shaman players on ladder, it's safe to assume that a LOT of people crafted multiple epics and legendaries to play Galakrond Shaman. They will likely nerf Galakrond himself in a week, which means people are not going to get any dust refund, as it was given for free. In order to make new meta decks, people will need to buy new packs. Pretty simple.

LOL I don't play shaman at all. I hate these stupid orcs. Even if someone gives me that quest and all its cards for free ill dust them and make zoo decks out of it
I hate Galakrond SHaman, have won against it, but statistics, and maths NEVER LIE. It's broken. I have won against it multiple times with Questing Adventurer as 14/14 turn 6 with Miracle Rogue but that doesn't make it less broken.
People who claim that the deck is not broken because they managed a win against it are worst than the cancerous HS community that will reap what is sow. (nerfs incoming to Shaman mainly)
So to let me counter-your argument, how many shrinks ray you run? 2?
Shaman: 4 8/8. You: Clear . Shaman : plays the Faceless to a token, then Barista. You clear. Shaman plays SHudderwock and summons 2 more 8/8 and a Shudderwock at hand. You clear. SHaman plays shudderwock again. YOu are out of Shrink rays. Shaman plays a Shudderwock again. THe combo can be ENDLESS if he has a minion in board, which is very easy with either invoke cards or lackeys. He can play infinite turns 1 mana lackey and 9 Mana Shudderwock. Let me see how you clear this.
BRaindead counter-players are more braindead than the Braindead SHamans.
From what I have seen, there is only a way to go. Go BIG or go HOME. so, Handlock with Giants, before his turn 7, Mage with the new minion that spells cost 0 if you hold a dragon , my miracle rogue where you can make a 20/20 Edwin or Questing by turn 6/7 if you are not unlucky and so on. THey don't play counters
Yeah "save your clears and get easy wins" do you play in rank 50? I played control dragon warrior yesteday with punch of clears and single target removal and still i lost pretty mutch every time when opponent knows how to play against control warrior and they can just outvalue warrior easily. Best control deck that i have found so far to counter that is suprise suprise shaman.
I tried a control/highlander/dragon paladin and saved my shrink ray + clear until he played the 4 8/8 combo. It was an easy win, Shaman is strong but it has counters, please stfu
Apparently , Blizzard didn't think "saving your clear" was enough of an answer. ;)
I am kicking asses with my priest, seems nobody noticed one of the most OP card of expansion Grave Rune
Sounds interesting, what is your combo /win con? I tried the card a bit and I didn't find it that helpful, especially against shaman who just always seems to have a way to answer almost any board.
To contribute to this thread: shaman is pretty op alright, maybe not unbeatable but certainly very strong. "just saving aoe for galakrond" certainly is not enough to beat them unless they are so sad to see there 8/8s die they just concede. That doesn't seem to be the case very often though.

half deck i heal, half i smash. I play the quest without caring too much, just a plus in the late game and actually stop people going face the first 3 turns. Than heal (neferset, zillax, and the 5/5 that heal 5) to survive until turn 9. Then play around zerek cloning and resurect. I have a colossus of moon too. Nobody try to kill the 1/1 from zerek cloning. I play grave rune on it and next turn have 3 of them and 2 with active reborn. i see people play zephyr and concede ahahah.
If you feel fucked you can play grave rune also on neferset ritualist. same... gotta heal something like 18 stopping 7 attacks.
other option cathrina, play grave rune on her also is auto concede. (she ressurect neferset very often)
than you have all the priest Aoe and of course the mass silence ...
well quite complicate deck but lot of fun. actually at 6 on the ladder. but winrate is good. The key is healing.

4 8/8 on turn 6 seems pretty broken to me
