it is a hero card. it gets better the more invokes you play. However, and i didnt know this at first myself, when you invoke it triggers the Garlicbread hero power each time as well. with that said, some of the vanilla trash you have to play becomes actually very powerful cards. all in all, garlicbread feels both gimmicky and powerful at the same time imo. will it last past this expansion? probably not, but then again, almost every HS release has a mechanic that gets left in the dust as soon as new releases happen. if they happen to print more garlicbread cards in the next sets and make them better, then it will probably live.
First of all, C’thun had a couple of great decks. Most notably druid and warrior.
second: The power of invoke cards really differs from galakrond to galakrond.
Would you dare compare devoted maniac to restless mummy? I would!
both of them deal a small amount of damage twice. Mummy seems better because it deals 3+3 while maniac deals 2+3. And if you want to kill a minion with the second 3 you have to take some damage.
so the maniac seems to be losing here. But it has one big upside. No I’m not talking about “growing your galakrond”. In the matches I played, The cards I drew with galakrond were never relevant so far. MANIACS THREE DAMAGE CAN GO FACE.
And believe me, galakrond warrior loves to go face.
I also want to note that ALL invoke cards go very well with warrior. Just try it. You actually play galakrond so you can play the invoke cards, not the other way around.
It is amazing in zoo. 4 mana 2/2 rush that summons two 1/1 imps.
It's not Impact enough. I found much greater success with 5 mana 4/5 Taunt Shield guy instead. You have taunt and big stats for 1 mana more. In particular in zoo / midrange, where you usually have plenty of stuff to trade up, a 2/2 felt very underwhelming. The best thing to happen in the deck is Faceless Corruptor tho. That is a mid-range dream come true.
OP seemingly missed that invoke triggers Galakrond's hero power, regardless of wether that player already is Galakrond.
So that means every invoke card:
...Gives your hero +3 Attack as Warrior
...Gives you a random Lackey as Rogue
...Gives you a random priest minion as priest
...Summons a 2/1 Rush Elemental as Shaman
...Summons two 1/1 Imps as Warlock
You were correct after all, this makes invoke much closer to vanilla. It turns out that Galakrond shaman is totally busted with 60% play and winrates and Blizz is doing an emergency nerf. I don't blame Blizz for underestimating Shaman's power level, even I was wrong! I do thank them for doing the right thing with such a quick nerf. One thing I was right about is the quest conflicts with Galakrond, why run the quest only to overwrite it with a 2/1 rush HP? Many Shamans have cut the quest, but some still run it. Regardless, there's an excellent chance the quest gets nerfed anyway since it's also OP.
That said, I expect 3 or 4 of it's cards to be hit. I also expect 2 or 3 neutral cards to be hit, faceless corruptor being the obvious choice. I think Blizz will nerf a pirate as well because PW is broken in both formats
I also expect one of the new pirates to get a hit as well as some other neutral or class card. In total, around 6 cards should get nerfed and we may find out as early as tomorrow!
The fact is most people have no idea how to evaluate cards, because it requires considering contingencies and synergies most people are unaware of, simply because they're ignorant and refuse to actually learn about the game. It did give me a good laugh when it was said that the shaman galakrond is dead on arrival.

Well, in Wild Galakrond is literally the C'thun of the expansion, fun, but not strong.
If a card is not strong enough to impact the Wild format, it is not actually strong, but only strong due to Standard's limitations.
So, don't blame the OP. In the end only one Galakrond ended up being just too strong in a severely limited format.

They don't clash that much at all. In fact they synergize far better than clash. I'll tell you why you get rid of the quest Hero Power for Galakrond. To close out the game with 4 8/8s and to make your Shudder produce more 8/8s itself. Also if you are low on cards in general then you change to Galakrond so you can continuously put 2/1s on the board. One of the best things about Galakrond is that you can just hold till you need it. Otherwise if you don't need it don't play it.

I don't think Pirate Warrior is broken in Wild. It was a Tier 5 deck for almost two years, now it's back as probably a Tier 1 deck but that seems fair since it's "new".
Reno decks can tech against it quite well, and since these are the most played decks after the cheap aggro decks PW and Secret Mage, I simply expect their lists to go anti-aggro. I don't think we have a pre-Fiery Win Axe and Patches-nerf situation again. PW is actually quite challenging to play against all this Reno decks.
I am actually looking forward to this Wild Meta as it seems like one of the best we had in a while.
Galakrond, the Tempest is massively outclassed by the shaman quest which lets you double up on battlecries. Why replace that with a 2/1 rush hero power? This card is simply dead on arrival for Shaman.
Instead of the title being "don't craft anything on day 1", it should be "don't jump on making card evaluations on day 1". It makes you look less silly :)
This is what happens when you don't bother to read what new mechanics do. They said that Invoke triggers the Hero Power when they revealed the expansion one month ago.
It aged better than all the other complaints thread that you as a Moderator should lock for repost, as it is done in any seriously moderated board.
At least we are partially having civil conversations now, on the final page.
Really the amount of flaming you allow on this board is highly toxic and since it is the same on other Hearthstone boards, it will kill the game in a few years from now, because such a community is unbearable!

As moderators, we try to encourage discussion rather than to heavy-handedly lock and shut down any sort of discussion simply due to a little toxicity. Otherwise, nothing would ever get discussed here. I am quite sure that there are plenty on here who would tell you that we on this site prefer to allow discussion to grow while removing the more aggressive or inappropriate comments as needed.
Of course, we are not omniscient and rely on users of this site to report toxic behaviour when they come across it, or experience it - at that point, the behaviour will be examined and the offenders punished appropriately if it should be required. In the course of any debate or discussion of a topic, arguments can become heated and there is an onus upon all users of this site to remain civil in discourse and also to accept that not all opinions will agree with theirs.
However, that said, if you have a specific issue with a particular moderator or the way they moderate (myself included), then you can always get in touch with the senior admin team to voice your concerns. ...I am actually looking forward to this Wild Meta as it seems like one of the best we had in a while.
Best thing about the new wild meta is, that big priest is not relevant any more... ;-)
Big Priest wasn't even relevant anymore when Barnes got nerfed, it was a Tier 3 deck for months on Tempostorm.
The last deck that annoyed everyone was Snip Snap Warlock, and even that had some counters and wasn't even that much played pre-rank 5 as Zephrys is just way cooler and Secret Mage is way cheaper so everyone played those decks.
Many people said Wild would be impossible to balance but right now it seems a lot easier than Standard, simply because every class can answer everything.
I really think Blizzard shot themselves in the leg with the last HoF rotation and the further push for class identity. Now several classes are severely limited, Rogues can't boardclear, Priests can't deal damage, etc.
2 8/8s with a Rush are very strong but absolutely nothing compared to the boards Bloodreaver Gul'dan or N'zoth can summon in Wild, and neither of these cards are that strong atm.
Same for the tons of 2/1 rush minions. Spirit Lash for example works great here.
The reason why a card like Galakrond breaks Standard is because the card pool of Standard is way too limited. If you push every class into a different direction, some will inevitably be way worse than others.
Just allow every class to do everything in Standard as well, just in their own unique way!
Really the amount of flaming you allow on this board is highly toxic and since it is the same on other Hearthstone boards, it will kill the game in a few years from now, because such a community is unbearable!

Corrupt Elementalist to become 6 mana
Faceless Corruptor also gets bumped to 6 mana
Dragon's Pack either gains 2 overload or buff reduced to 2/2
Corrupt the Waters play 8 battlecry cards

This didn’t age well, even after a week. Yikes
