A strong tech card for sure, but I'm not sure if two copies are going to be enough to stop an entire deck archetype from being played. Looks like we're going to have to see.
I think the card is good enough to have, even when your opponent has no dragons in their deck. A 4-mana 4/4 certainly isn't horrendous.
So many tech cards have never seen play. And if your entire deck can be countered by one card, it's not a very good deck to begin with. Take that into consideration.

It's honestly adorable how much everyone here clutches their pearls when a good tech card is introduced.
I'd love to watch yall observe the competitive Pokemon scene. "Egads, an ability that blocks Scald and heals! Surely water types are no more!"
You'd think introducing relevant tech (Dragonmaw Poacher) would be welcome instead of dated tech that missed the mark by two years (Platebreaker... where were you when odd warrior was decimating everyone??).
HS players fear tech in general because it *gasp* counters something in the game.

Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.
It is not just a "good tech card", it is absolutely retarded of a tech when triggers early, dragon decks are heavely reliant on tempo, this puts them so far behind on it is insane.
It's not going to ruin any chance dragon decks have of winning, at least not 100% of the time, but if you play it, you get a massive boost in tempo for literally nothing other than waiting until your opponent plays the right minion. Every single deck is going to run this. Why wouldn't they? It's a 4 mana 8/8 that activates if your opponent plays ANY of the minions that this expansion is based around.
Just hope blizz realizes their mistake and the nerfs come fast.

Why would they nerf it? This card gives temp decks a chance, and it's not like two of these in a deck negates the opponents' entire deck.

Yep, tempo is what I think of when I think of dragons. A tribe defined by the need to hoard in hand, high cost and impact in the late game, and a dearth of small low cost tribe members.

"Competitive" and "Pokemon" in the same sentence is an oxymoron.
Pokemon has had an official competitive scene for years now, including massive events and world championships, all sponsored by the company. It is pretty good and you should give it a go. You can't emote people there so no one will be able to ruin your day :)
They are tho, anyone that played some type of dragon deck based on sinergy cards knows that, there aren't really big "i win" finishers, you just use the low cost sinergy stuff to buy some time while increasingly reaching for the more powerful stuff, grinding the opponent, but if you fall too far behind on tempo too early slaming a big stick with some marginal value effect will not do anything, not every class have Crazed Netherwing or Duskbreaker, and is not like dragons are oppressive like pirates once where to demand SUCH a tech card.
IF it as something like +/1+1, hell even +2/+2 and the rush effect i would be fine, but this is way too much.

Tempo decks don't need a "chance" that's this polarizing. Just because you can't draw the card that wins you the game half of the time doesn't mean the card isn't too strong. Prince Keleseth was so strong that even decks that weren't tempo or aggro focused ran it because the effect was stronger than the cost of including the card in the deck and excluding other 2 cost cards. Likewise, the only thing it costs to have an 8/8 rush on demand is to keep two vanilla 4 drops in your hand/deck and wait for your opponent to slip up and play a dragon.
If you don't think it needs to be nerfed, let me ask you this: Why do you think it needs to be this strong? It's an 8/8 with rush. Why? Why can't it be a 5/5 with rush, or a 6/6? Would a 6/6 with rush for 4 mana be too weak to run?
You shouldn't make arguments for card balance based on whether or not it wins you the game 100% of the time, or even most of the time. The truth of the matter is it's not fun to play around your opponent randomly being able to cheat out an 8/8 if you play one dragon in the set that REVOLVES AROUND DRAGONS. It's fine to print a dragon tech counter card, but if the tech is "if your opponent plays a dragon instantly win the board" then it's not fun to play with or against and it's not balanced. Something along the lines of Dragonslayer, hell even 4/4 DESTROY a dragon would be less awful to play against than your opponent getting an 8/8 that gets to trade immediately if they catch you slipping and you dare to play a dragon in Descent of Dragons.
Well, my final thought on this card is that it gives "small" decks (token, tempo, early game mid-range, etc) a chance in the late game against the big boy decks.
I like it, and I'm going to fit two of it in to my tempo rogue ASAP.

Dragonmaw Poacher will make everyone scared to play any small discover dragons. 4 mana 8/8 will be waiting for you.

That line made me laugh out loud, here at my desk, way louder than I should have. It garnered a few stares.

Pokemon is extremely competitive, counter to the franchise's core messages. However, competitive pokemon is also a huge joke.

Has it not occurred to anyone that Dragon decks can also run this against each other? The beauty of being neutral!

Dragon decks WILL run this against each other. EVERY deck will run two copies of this. Where in the WORLD is the fun in that?
