I feel like Mechs are stronger in general, because Beasts really only get extremely powerful if you find the right cards, like Cave Hydra, Mama Bear and Goldrinn, as you mentioned. In my experience, if you don't find those, mechs will beat you any time.

Mechs are good in general and have more general synergies that work well together. Like the mech that gets divine shield everytime you summon a mech is FAR stronger than many give credit for. There is no beast that gives something like that. Unless beasts gets a poison option, then beasts will become far too powerful with cleave effects.
Both of my first place wins are with mechs. Beasts do get me in the top 4 though, so they are still very strong. Need to hit Mama Bear in order to compete. Junk Bot is far too strong as a rank 4 unit and most of the other mechs are also rank 4. means you dont need to upgrade your tavern as often as a beast build does.
for me it is mama bear + kadgar instead of goldwin because when a minion dies like hyena mama bear buffs the minion and kadgar summons copy of buffed minion it is like 10/10 hyena 18/18 hyena if you have enough place on board goes even higher stats
Pack Leader is great for midgame, but you can usually find something better toward the end.
As for which is better, I think Beasts and Mechs are pretty evenly matched. I've gotten first place plenty of times with both.
If the game is dropping one of the two in my lap, I'm certainly not going to go out of my way to force the other. But I'll do just about anything to claw my way out of a Murloc comp.

I know this is more a discussion about mechs and beasts, but I find that going 1 of each tribe and getting an early Lightfang or Bran is far superior than either of the tribes. Atleast it have gotten me many of my first place wins where beasts and mechs rarely get me there, but atleast they get me in top 4.

Agreed. Pick up whatever gets you through the early game, find an Amalgam or two and a cleave minion if possible, and then scale, scale, scale. Trying to go all in on one particular synergy just feels too high-rolly to me and you're really at the mercy of the offerings.

This is a valid plan if you get proper minions buffed up. I see too many people doing this with random 1* minions that they just happened to have when getting the lightfang, causing them to suffer in the late game.
Murlocs can only work with luck on Gentle Megasaurs (poisonous divine shielded murlocs are no joke),
Demons lack useful abilities, they're all just big bags of stats.
Beasts and mechs are the most powerful strategies because of how smoothly you can build them up and because of their insane late game.
I find that beasts at full force are almost unstoppable, but you won't always get everything you want, whereas mechs are extremely powerful even without all their tools, which makes them stronger overall in my opinion.
Mechs are for sure stronger, If you get a solid mechs + deathrattle board there is nothing that beats you, started playing yesterday and already have 6 top 1 finishes and 5 of those were mechs deathrattle builds and the other one was indeed with beasts but mechs beat everything.
Exactly as many have said. Mech are not really card specific whereas you need to right card for Beast. I personally hate beast because it take so much time to buff each unit as they are summon... It reduce the amount of time you have when you go to shop. Of course when I get good beast I will still play beast but it take so long...
I am amending my answer. Finally got 1st place, with beasts and Mr. Mukla.
Mukla is a god now, but we can't really allow Mukla games to influence this discussion, any more than we could allow Millificent.
FWIW, Mukla is strictly better than Millificent, but that may be OK if you believe Mechs are slightly better than Beasts overall.
In the end, I think the randomness inherent in the game is higher than the power differential between these two tribes, so it's kind of a pointless discussion. We just all need to agree that Demons suck.

The multiple tribe buff everything to ridiculous levels I think is the best. And can be a backup plan for when what you are trying to make work ain't quite going as planned (:ahem: murlocs).
Most powerful is murloc by a mile, if they can get their thing going its instant win. They're in a good position early game, but often at the cost of not ramping up, and they badly need their rank 6 adapt murlocs guy to get there. (and brann or be shudderwock)
Windfury divine shield poison and taunt, followed by endless (+2/+2 to all taunt minions). Kripp had an eye opening video on this, where you end up with 5 godlike murlocks (50+/50+ stats), taunt divine shield windfury poison. Wasn't even close and completely untouchable. Beasts struggle with access to divine shield, and mechs struggle with access to poison.
However if you don't get that adapt card at the right time,(not too early, or too late), it's curtains.
My most fun tribe is comeback mech - boosted strongly by lichking, but a bundle of deathrattle mechs, finished off with the mech that resurrects the first few mechs that died.
I kinda dislike that tribes are the only way to play in this.
Got first place with beasts and Bartender (went for upgrade tavern early), but still i think beasts are best in mid game, because they can't scale to like 200/200 stats like Mechs can
Mechs are strong because you never have to leave Tier 4. That's a lot of time and a lot of gold spent developing your board. They should probably move either Junkbot or Security Rover to Tier 5. That would make Mechs a little weaker in the mid-game while maintaining the overall strat.

Are beasts stronger than mechs or are they equal in power?. I seen people running double Mama Bear, 1 Scavenging Hyena, double Rat Pack, 1 Goldrinn, the Great Wolf and 1 Pack Leader. It's crazy hard to beat.

I'm having a surprising amount of luck with the demon tribe at the moment.
Mechs are generally considered the best tribe because they offer the most flexibility and are really straight forward. But Beasts are also very good.
You can truly have success with anything with a little luck and some smart planning.

Mechs are better because their engine is better and overall have stronger options, but beasts getting earlier cleave is real powerful.

Odd, I would have though Ogres would dominate this format. They love smashing into things randomly.
