Now they owe part of playerbase an apologetic auto-squelch function.
Imagine that aganst a fatigue/blade rogue.... endless "lovely" emote spam.... I was like hmm a bit odd i can't squelch ,meanwhile the guy is just laughing his ass off that he can burn 1 key card that would have won me the game...
The "fun" that they have playing only 30 cards out of the hundreds and hundreds of cards....
I almost never squelch, but now all the extra emoting last night makes sense...

It was annoying in the beginning, now I'm kind of happy with it. I always squelched because I got frustrated with emote spammers and it impacted my plays. Now I'm forced to try and ignore them and it's actually working. I've won a few games against some players who spammed the entire game. It gives a motivation boost to want to win.
Having said that, Blizzard needs to fix this. Even better, like other posters already said, add a auto-squelch feature.
What I'd like to know is how do you even BREAK SQUELCH? How does one DO that? What are you trying to achieve that BREAKS SQUELCH?
I get that they broke quests, golden cards, mobile version is even worse than it was. My expectations when it comes to this team are really low and I'm not even surprised they didn't test it properly before rolling it out.
But SQUELCH?! That's like kicking Murloc Tinyfin.
Auto squelch. That's all I'm asking for.
I play in the shitter at work a lot. I keep the volume turned off, so it doesn't bother me much.
On iOS if you try to squelch the game literally crashes.
I think Blizzard is promoting toxicity
