First of all - Im not mean to be rude to women, to HS players or to anyone at all.
Looking at HS Global Finals list I noticed a name I didnt see before even if I watch different HS tournaments quite often - its Vkliooon. Who is this player and where it came from? After I learned she is a woman some doubts started to brew in my head. Why and how unknown player made her way to Big Blizzcon? She does not have any rewards or money winnings. And the question is - the question I didnt dare to ask at first, ut now I have to - with all this feminism and women rights debates are going around - is it possible that Blizzard trying to push women in the light somehow? Like Marvel did with the Avengers Endgame. Or she is really that great player - just after starting to play HS instantly came to finals?
Once again, Im not trying to be rude to anyone, but I want to know the truth.
You are calling into question whether someone actually deserves to be in a tournament because she's a woman.
Saying you aren't trying to be rude does not make it better.
Read my statement again. Im calling into question how one person - unknown until now just instantly won all tournaments and got into Blizzcon. That could be any gaming minority. It is popular to pay attention to minorities today in all areas, thats why Ive asked. No need to be that narrow-minded.
Or maybe I miss something? And she is actually really well known popular and skilled, like streaming a lot, high ladder places etc and Im just missing it?
You're "missing it", as you say, because she is from China where they have their own separate ladder and competitive system. Have you noticed that there are no Chinese players in Grandmasters? I'm not sure how the system works entirely, but I'm sure she qualified fair and square. I mean, I hadn't heard of RNGLeaoh before (had to spell-check his name lol)
A question for self-reflection: If a young man, previously unknown, qualified to a big tournament and won it all (like Pavel did), would you question that? I know you're probably not a misogynist, but it is definitely misogynistic to second-guess a woman's achievements because of her gender.
So at every world championship up to this point you have questioned the credentials of players you didn't know? You knew RNG Leah because I dont see you questioning his wins, but not VK Lion? Forty Dust is correct, whether intentional or not your statement is blantatley mysoginistic, and considering she just won the whole thing you sound like quite the jackass right about now.
I have two theories. The OP is obviously gay and that's fine. Nothing wrong with that. Born This Way.. yooooo Lady Gaga preachin' it.
Anyway... He is either threatened by a female winning as it goes against his male-centric point of view. OR he is upset that he can't fap to the boys playing Hearthstone. He had to watch a female and he totally lost the mood and went to write gay fanfiction about the erotic adventures of boys playing Hearthstone then came here to whine about it.
OR he is a just a complete ass but it makes me happy that a female won it all and he feels like a small turd cause of it.

Funny how you aren't even trying to ask for RNGLeaoh which was the other Chinese player on top 4, which shouldn't be recognizable to you if VKLion isn't either. Maybe cause he's a dude and Lion's a girl? Just cause you don't know a player doesn't mean they aren't really good and big player.
China has a different system from all other GMs, if you took a second to think about it before writing all that non sense you would realize that on the Asia-Pacific region there aren't any chinese players (where they should be located geographically). Chinese players qualify through a different format (not sure how it works honestly) and that's how they get to this Blizzcon GMs finals, or any other big tournament finals for that matter. The chinese HS scene is completely secluded to the point there aren't even many streams if any in most cases.
You could've had an honest doubt but it really shocks me that you would doubt her "credentials" in order to be there but not mention anything about the other chinese player in the tournament and then try suggesting she was there as some sort of marketing strategy to push more girls into the game, that's mysoginist af. Also trying to suggest that "just after starting to play HS she instantly came to finals?" is just the most retarded question I've read/heard in a long time, she would probably whoop your ass hard with budget decks.
Also she's THE CHAMPION now so you probably feel stupid rn :)
VKLiooon is the new World Champion. That should be enough information for anyone at this point. Closing this here cause this thread did not start out the right way at all.

She is from China, and qualified via their system (Star Ladder tournament, I believe).
Watch her play (she is in the Finals), and decide for yourself.
Dude, this is straight-up misogynistic bullshit.

I mean, playing the game, and knowing what she is doing, your skill isn't directly proportional to how much people knows you on the competitive world.
she's grand master world champ derp

you fell for bait simple as
"Bait" or "not bait" doesn't matter. It isn't about what he believes in his heart, it is his action that was misogynistic.
