It's probably just me being terrible at this game, but has anyone noticed a change in arena play? Is there a fairly recent change that has happened that could drastically affect my results? I used to be a decent arena player up until a few months ago (average 5-7 wins per run), but now I feel as though I've been lucky to get 2-3, and have even had a few zero's... Is it in my head, am I just getting unlucky, has there been a change in dynamic recently?
I used to be an amateur poker player, and normally did pretty well, and in that forum, you had to routinely adjust your play every year (play style that won one year, would flop a couple years later, and you had to adapt), so am I missing something here? I thought it was just draft your deck for tempo, and then make good choices... I don't see how a 'play style' could have a similar effect on Hearthstone, but I haven't recently suffered a head trauma that could have changed my thinking, so...?
They tweaked appearance rates and buckets. Basically everything is more powerful so it is less likely you can just focus on tempo/value. While that is still important it is much easier to find broken arena combos more common to constructed.
Do you maybe play less arena than you used to? There really is a meta-game to arena as well. And you have to know it. Some cards are trending, then people tend to pick what is good against that and so on. I stopped taking basilisk and similar small poisonous stuff for example because priest is very popular and these guys take potion of madness over almost anything... at least that's what it feels like to me. This might of course depend on your region, time of play etc.
Checking out hsreplay.net for arena card playrates might be a good idea...
I'm pretty sure it's just a sample size. If you actually average 2,5 wins per run, you just need to learn the basics, no matter what meta is, and if you really had 6 wins per run before, I would seriously consider head trauma version. Very important recent change is that Blizzard get rid of bucket system, so game now doesn't offer similar power cards in the draft, but even this would never reduce your winrate that much on a significant distance. Also there is no basic and classic sets in this rotation, which feels a little bit weird (you don't need to play around some iconic cards like Flamestrike, Consecration etc).

English is not my native language, so, with a high probability, mistakes were made.
