I wasn't as freaked out as a lot of people when Blizzard enforced its tournament rules by punishing political commentary by players.
But chat bans? Especially in the wake of all that backlash? Blizzard has lost its mind.
I'm not deleting my account or anything, but this whale will not be purchasing more Hearthstone cards anytime soon. I already skipped the Hex & Flex thing, but now I'm pretty sure I'll be skipping the next expansion as well.
Honestly, bringing back Evolve when Shaman was already so powerful had me on the fence, but this is just too much.

Wow, just wow... All these "brilliant minds" working at Blizzard never cease to amaze me. Are they really stupid or what??? There is a lot of people working at this company that could be seriously be affected by these silly actions, people who have nothing to do with them, usually earning a much lower salary than these "geniuses", and probably good at their jobs. This is repulsive and pathetic to say the least... >:-(
If you read the article though, it is not just "free hk". Anything pro China also gets deleted. The article title is misleading.
If Blizzard removes both pro hk and pro China comments, that's fine.
For me, it's the same. I believe doing nothing about it and let the subject be forgotten as much as possible is the best choice by far. Blizzcon is around the corner, adding more fuel to the fire is not a good decision.
I dont know why anyone is surprised/angry by this, companies (especially public ones partially owned by Tencent) want to have access to a 1.4 billion person market and will change policies to ensure that access isnt removed.
Best you can hope for is that the trade war successfully crushes chinas economic hegemony before they buy all of Africa and no longer rely on trade to function.
Removing pro China comments is both a way to save face and just common sense, it's pretty damn blatant they aren't removing either to remain neutral but to avoid further upset. How many Pro-China chat messages do you honestly think they expected in the first place, especially in the west. It's like saying no one is allowed to criticize murder but hey the 5 pro murder guys in the chat aren't allowed to sing it's praises either.

Excuse me, I didn't understand what you are trying to say. English is not my first language, so sorry in advance for the inconvenience.
Could you be a bit more clear, please? (not trying to be an ass, it's just this doesn't happen to me usually in the forum -.-)
I share the outrage of anyone getting banned for saying ANYTHING that isn't overtly illegal in a public forum . . .
HOWEVER . . .
I'm also kind of surprised anyone is surprised by this. It was the logical next step after the Blitzchung and subsequent chat spam.

Helpful Clarification on Forbidden Topics for Hearthstone Forums:
Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
Sorry, that was somewhat sarcasm. More accurately, I should have said, "now that we know they are willing to strip a winner of prizes and future opportunities, the relatively minor step of chat bans is not surprising in the least."

I just want to read some usual stuff such as: "Pog champ, smorc, lol casters, easy lethal, etc..." instead i only see this political hk spam. I mean liberties and all that... But annoys me. I feel like MY rights as a twitch viewer of tournaments are thrashed, so why should it be tolerated?
Even if your rights were scammed by someone, it's a BAD IDEA to spoil other's people life who haven't done anything to you and might even be loyal to your problem, untill you start doing this annoying spammy stuff.

Your rights are thrashed because of the free speech of others? Whatever you say, Hitler.

These are dark days for liberty.
Why are YOUR liberties are more important than MINE to watch the stream without politics crap? so called liberals and democrats are sometimes way worse than any other nazi...

Wait... Does that mean you finally changed sides and reconsidered your position on the subject or what?

Today they not even remove spam about free Hong Kong.
Missing lethal since February 2014.
Well, if that is true, it seems these people usually act before they think, which is really disheartening to be honest. :(

Of course it's true. You can see it yourself. And you also have true, they act way too fast.

Ok, ok, I believe you, dude. :)
