A long time ago: Putting a (2) mana card into a Prince Keleseth deck and getting Prince Keleseth at the start hand. Wondering why his battlecry didnt' trigger.

In my humble deckbuilding experience I've often had 25/30 cards filled with class cards only, before realizing that many neutral cards would've been better. Just the order of your library makes me select way too many class cards
Just yesterday I realized my highlander hunter deck had 2 copies of Houndmaster and no Zephrys the Great for some reason. What made it funnier is that up until that point I was 3-0 with the deck and never noticed the mistake haha
Great topic! LOL Off the top of my head, this cold wed morning, is the time I played a Control Shaman list when Control Warrior w Archivist was super popular, and I forgot to put her in my deck! So, after about a 35 minute game, we came to fatigue, had the warrior down to 0 armor, 5 health, when I finallt died to a 9 damage fatigue turn no less!!!!
Talk aboit feeling dissapointed! I realized she wasnt in the deck at turn 10 or so, but I was too stubborn to resign.
I have also forgot Shudderwock and or a key Quest card a few times as well!
My biggest mistake was trying to make a deck on my own that I could get to legend. I realized that the Pro's do this for a living as a job and lifestyle. This is why netdecking exists and is good. If you want to do your own thing go for it. Deck building is only one side of it. I like to take what people have done and spent hours testing. From there you can tech it cards depending on the meta. For me competitive ranked play is fun to truly see how good you are climbing ladder. My second biggest mistake was using decks on this site in ranked mode. The majority of them are community decks or decks taken from streamers but swapping out a couple of cards. Those people always claim it's their own.

Hey, you could still play competitively! Didn't somebody deep into a major tournament a couple years back pick Keleseth off of their Stitched Tracker and immediately slam him down?
Not sure it counts, but I remember a game where my opponent cast dead mans hand while holding Keleseth and then casting aformented Keleseth. I bet my oppenonet could also hear the imaginary crickets chirp.
I build a Renolock without putting Reno in the deck. After over 10 games, in which I won 7 matches, I realized that in my losses, I wait to topdeck Reno but cannot even find him, mistook for a bug in the game. Such a shame back then. XD
I will offer what I think the biggest mistake OTHERS make with deck building. NOT EVEN TRYING TO BUILD THEIR OWN DECK! Too many never even try too. This creates a scenario where the Meta is solved in a week, because barely anybody experiments with ideas and cards, they just copypasta net decks. It also creates a stale Meta really fast too, when everybody is playing the same 8 decks over and over. There are usually hundreds of cards to choose from, and most get wasted from not being used at all.
It would be nice to see some sort of system where the players are rewarded for their deck building, not punished. Maybe another "room" to play against other created decks? Cuz Casual is almost always net decks too. Blizzad, please create custom rooms for us to set the parameters of the cards allowed. Sort of like a Tavern Brawl, that encourages unique deck building. A way to exclude certain cards etc....that would be sweet and a good way to encourage creativity,
Holy Wrath in Holy Wrath Paladin just now...funny thing tho
When you play Shrivallah, Banker with no cards your opponent just concedes...now I kinda wanna see how many games I can win off my opponents assumptions that I'm not a total moron.
I made a Prince Keleseth deck and wanted to optimize the deck, so I added a random 2 drop. I played a game, had Prince in my opening hand and he didn't work. The stupid thing is that I played the game and forgot about it, so I started another game and drew him in my opening hand again. And believe it or not but I did it again after the second game - and I got him in my opening hand again.

I feel your pain here.
Putting Execute into a baku warrior because I didn't have enough removal.

That's an awesome first post ever :) Welcome to Hearthpwn!
I made a quest C'Thun shaman for the lulz and found out that the quest and C'Thun were missing
C'thun needs more attack for my full power to be unleashed.

Making Reno decks with duplicates
Making Odd decks with even cards
Making Even decks with odd cards
Making Quest decks without the quest
Putting Princes in decks where there are other cards of the same mana cost
Making N'Zoth decks without N'Zoth
Mill decks without Coldlight
