We've all been there. You built a deck that you are really excited about, or you found one online that you wanted to try out.
You go through the deck builder, carefully crafting it card by card.
You get in to your first match with it, and.... wait, where's that card you needed? You frantically look, and you forgot to put it in!
Tell us your story of that one time you made your biggest "oops" in deck building. I'll start off. I took a trip to HSReplay this morning looking for Shaman variants. I decided on this deck:
So I built it, but made a few adjustments here and there. I cut one Mind Control Tech and made a few other small tweaks, etc. Not important to the story. What is important is that when I got in to my first match, which I did on ladder rather than casual, I discovered that my opening hand did not contain Corrupt the Waters. I had forgot it!
My opponent was a N'Zoth, the Corruptor Rogue, and I thought about conceding 4 turns in. When I drew a Questing Explorer, I was embarrassed to play it... I mean, who plays that card in a non-quest deck? The Rogue must have thought he was playing a moron (which, to be fair, isn't far off).
HOWEVER, this story has a happy ending. He got very unlucky with his taunt draws, and I was able to burst him down before he got his healing taunts online.
SO.... now let's hear yours! What was the biggest "oops" you ever made in deck building?
I was really meticulous in deciding which single cards would have the best interactions, and cover all bases for my first Highlander Hunter deck... After about 5 or 6 games, I was doing pretty well, but I couldn't figure out why I hadn't drawn Dinotamer Brann, or Zephyrs the Great... I'm an idiot.
Just the other day I decided to play some Reno N’Zoth Mage in Standard. Being the genius that I am I put in two Arcane Intellects and didn’t notice.
queued yup on ladder into a Wall N’Zoth Priest and we had a good long game. Finally got into a perfect Reno board clear and dropped him only to realize he wasn’t active. Ugh. Even later on I drew Zepheres and then played him but I hadn’t drawn either AI yet. Double whoops.
best part is I still won the game! My opponent must have been pissed!
ive also made many Reno decks in Wild and forgot to add Reno...
I've done that, for sure. Spend a hour meticulously deciding what singleton cards make it into the deck, and then wonder why you NEVER get Reno when you need him.
It took me until a game went into fatigue to realized I left him out. :P
I put several duplicates in a Zephrys deck early on in the expansion. I think I started crafting a singleton deck, then forgot halfway through. I even played Zephrys and was all, "WHERE'S MY PERFECT CARD, YOU SLACKER?!" Then it struck me that he hadn't been glowing yellow ...

Forgot C'Thun in my Reno C'Thun Druid deck. I even aptly named it "Reno C'Thun Druid". After I played Disciple of C'Thun, me and my opponent stared at each other for 5 seconds, digitally. You know, that moment of silence with both of us hovering over our hero portraits. I conceded and laughed for 5 minutes straight.

Forgot Reno Jackson in a Reno Jackson deck lol
In every odd-deck there is at some time the thought, why there is this shitty 9 mana 7/8 beast. Why not cut it.
I wanted to play a Midrange Shudderwock Shaman.
I dont think I ever got passed rank 15 LOL. Wasted WAY too many hours trying to get this to work.
i was the king of teching even cards in odd decks or odd cards in even decks
I put Houndmaster and Master's Call in same deck once. I even won that first test game, but I have no idea what I was thinking.
English is not my native language, so, with a high probability, mistakes were made.

Wasn't the first time, won't be the last.

Missing lethal since June 2015.
I am enjoying the hell out of reading these. I share in some of these mistakes with y'all, as well.
I too have put Houndmaster and Master's Call in the same deck... and have also put an even cost card in a Baku deck >_<
Forgot Elysiana in Control Warrior a few weeks back. Went against a mirror. Still won.
Made a OTK Knuckles deck filled with garbage cards to support the plan. You guessed it, i forgot Knuckles, and NO! i did not still win.
literally this, happened to me once and I even won the game (to be fair it was a control vs control match)
I put Lakarri Sacrifice in my Warlock deck. It only happened 300 or 400 times
Building a Hakkar deck with Paladin with the intention of using Prince Liam... forgot Liam and only realized it when I had draw all my cards.
Autoconcede.

Hours ago I faced a Quest Rogue without Quest and I beat him with an Aggro Priest LMAO
Too bad I didn't receive a friend request, I had an ingenious answer
