People dont ever accept friend request from my experience. This past month I sent out 37 consecutive friend request and not a single person accepted. I wonder if maybe friend request don't always work.
I've only ever accepted a friend request twice in the time that I've played. Both times was after playing some janky deck and my opponent was saying nice things about it.
But I generally ignore requests after a normal victory because more than likely it is to vent frustration. Let them rage somewhere else, I don't need that.
I think that the best answer would be the ignore. It is not worth to start a conversation with the abuser.
1) Do not accept FR immediately
2) Wait one to three days
3) No toxicity whatsoever then (at least it work for me this way)

Ignore those who insult you, that's all :)

Something simple like, "you know that you're not nearly a good enough player to be this much of an asshole, right?"
"I thought you were trying to let me win. I'm new at this game so I don't know the rules that well"
"I can help you with your homeless problem but not your stupidity problem"
"Being raped feels funny at first but you'll get used to it if you play like that"
Agree with you, so I suggest you never accept friend request from such people.
Best response : squelch, win and don't accept friends, unless playing against someone obviously nice, once every six months.
Take a walk on the wild side...
