That makes no sense, people who boycotted Blizzard for HK are NOT going to support Riot which is 100% owned by a Chinese business (Tencent).
Well, to be honest C_A_W, I believe people working for Riot and Tencent are not to blame for China's goverment decisions. Condemning them for being related in some way doesn't seem right. Blizzard trying to apply authoritarianism against a player was the real problem, and not the fact they do business in China. Hope you agree wth this. :)
You start this entire discussion not with open ended questions, but your own assertions that many of us do not share.
First up, "Hearthstone is slowly dying". Can you prove this? Can you show us their revenue reports and player base from launch till now? The game had its' peak during the WotLK, but has continued to turn an immense profit.
Second, "the metas were boring for 3-4 years". This is purely subjective, but your opinion appears to be the minority, judging from the information above. Hearthstone is doing just fine money wise. Stands to reason that many are just fine with the meta. in fact, the RoS launch was lauded by many as one of the best in some time.
Finally.... this train of thought is so very tired, man. People have been decrying HS as "dying' for years, yet here we are. Here you are, in fact, out here discussing it. The game is doing fine, man. If you want to bail on it for something else, that's cool.
It is. The aggressive free pack Twitch giveaways recently are a pretty telling sign that viewership is down and the general player base tends to follow those trend lines. Hearthstone survived Artifact because Valve botched it so badly, but between MTG:A, DOTA Underlords, and Riot's big plans, things are going to be very competitive in the near future.
They're still a long way off from the point where it affects your average player's experience in terms of queue time/opponent recycling, but I don't think we're far off from the end of new content.

When a human being is suffering from a disease and is slowly dying.. In most cases the effect of the desease is not visible to the eye. Yes you can see that the person is struggeling with some activities, and may have a grey-ish look on it's face but you still believe that person is fine. Until you see that person coughing, eating less and less. Eventually the effect of the desease shows up.. Like I said:
"Hearthstone is slowly dying", there are more players leaving the game then new players come into the game.
You want proof of this? The hype of hearthstone is gone,
1. Hearthstone used to have 30-40k viewers on twitch, no matter what new game there was it always had that number, now hearthstone. on a good day has 20K viewers on twitch.. today it has 9-10k viewers. 2.This proves us 2 things the hype of other games is enough to persuade hearthstone twitch viewers to watch other games and that hearthstone isn't interesting anymore. 3. The market never lies. More and more cardgames come out, most of them fail, but some don't, shadowverse, mtga etc this also tells us 2 things that alot of people want something different then hearthstone, and that a huge group of gamers prefer other card games then HS.
Now we just have to wait until the next big hype (card game) is coming to basicly finish this game off, because it is proven that most people who played hearthstone got bored with it.

agree with that .... im afraid that Legends of Runeterra will be the end for Hearthstone. everything depend on that how RIOT will present and develop this new TCG i never played MTG but many other sayed that this new riot game have prty much the same gameplay and strategy

I watched Firebat play it a little bit today. I wasn't personally that interested, but it looks like it would be a tougher competitor than MTG:A, even without the name recognition. It's just sleeker and more streamlined (which makes it much more appealing to new players). They've taken MTG's phase system and defender blocking and paired it with Hearthstone's natural mana progression. The animations are flashy and attractive and you're not assaulted with a wall of text on every card.
Time will tell if it has the strategy and depth to keep hardcore players invested and the right pacing/incremental progression & RNG for casual players, but I'd be worried if I were Blizzard.

The appropriate analysis is this.
HS is dying for those who want play a game of skill.
HS is very much alive for those who wat to play the game mindlessly according to the idea of a low skill floor.
HS is dying for those who are fed up with the retardness of Murlocs - spamm, buff, go face. Likewise OTK decks.
HS is dying because the current design team is much overdue.
HS will certainly be revived if another design team starts diversify win conditions and raise the skill floor.
Remember HS has a very strong mindless gameplay demanding base. You can see it on this forum supported by pro T5 - punditry. Many names have been given to this species: fanboys, 12-years olds, vulgar crowd. This fast mass keeps the game boring, because they don't care about the finesse. They enjoy being stupid. That's why the game is kept boring by developers. Marketing reasons. In sum, the game is made for a target audience and these don't always visit Twitch streams. Declining numbers viewing streams doesn't say much. Those who leave want something more than just another mindless damage out of hand. It is about card design for the masses...stupid. As long as the masses are being served, the game will stay popular. What is noticed is a separation of minds.
That being said. HS is superior in artwork, audio and animation. Don't underestimate the attractivity of that. No other card game is as good in this field. Attractiveness in its own right.
Although I despise the masses who are primarily responsible for described symptoms of the game, I believe things will only change for the better if a total new design team starts from scratch and print more interesting cards.
I don't think HK is going to influence many folks directly, but I think it's a push, a shove to get a few things rolling.
While "Hearthstone is Dying!" seems excessive, there has been a steady trickle of big-name streamers out of the game for a while now. The issues and frustrations they've put forward are similar to those of players. The new mechanics frequently aren't all that interesting. The meta gets stale really fast. Blizzard clearly knows this--they've been doing a bunch of mid-expansion alterations. The buffs to Boomsday cards and the cards coming back from wild show that Bliz is aware of how predictable the game gets on their current rotation cycle.
So into this comes Blizzard's massive overreaction to Blitzchung. A decent amount of folks are pissed and stop playing for a while. Maybe they find they don't really miss it. Sometimes a nudge is all that's needed to begin to change people's minds about a thing.
Game's not terrible, but it really seems like there have been times when it's been more fun.
Maybe Blizzard will do a reboot, Hearthstone 2. Who wouldn't love the opportunity to waste thousands on cards again?
In all seriousness, the biggest problem with HS has always been the cost. Blizzard just refuses to address it, and probably won't until the game is really struggling (at which point it will be too late).
Interestingly, the new LoL game appears to quite generous with cards, at first glance. It also allows you to buy single cards directly (wild cards), avoiding loot box BS.
Remind me that HS is dying in the next 3-4yrs bud. Game meta to me the last few expansions has been very good. Infact tons of people were applauding the last two or three expansions especially the last one. Tons of good cards and artwork.
I've been playing Hearthstone from the very beggining of its existance and ever since then everyone says that "the current meta is so boring...". For example - for like 3 or 4 months Control Warrior dominated the ladder and now when it's gone everyone complains about evolve shaman which entered the meta around a week ago. I realise that the game starts being boring when you see the same decks every day for a long period of time, but there are 2 reasons why you shouldn't complain:
1 It's impossible for Blizzard to make critical changes to the meta every week, because it would require a lot of work and they have many other games apart from HS and it would actually destroy the whole point of the game which is collecting cards, as you would probably never craft anything.
2. Changing the meta every week would make the game unplayable and I personally prefer Hearthstone as it is now.
Conclussion - Meta will always be boring but that's why you should play for fun and not for rank. I personally love trying to make some weird dwcks work even if it costs me going down from rank 6 to 10 😁
People were making threads about HS dying when ben left but yet the game to me has actually gotten better since he left.
I agree that the game has gotten better. However hearthstone suffers from it's own fundementals: Too much rng, low skill cap, too much inbalance, the list goes on.
The thing is, that hearthstone was created with the idea of being a ccg with simple mechanics. That's what it promises new players, but as a new player it's impossible to rise up in ranks without a good deck.
To get a good deck you need to invest a hell lot of time into hearthstone or pay alot of money. Now is the part where it get's interesting. Most new players already like other games, they have other options to invest theyre time and money in.
But if a new player does stick with hearthstone, the most accessable deck a new player can have is a cheap aggro deck
And because Hearthstone is a ccg with simple mechanics means that aggro, fundementally always has a higher chance of winning games in comparsion then slower deck, time and meta's has proven this..

Prio 1: Solve the RNG problem ... there is to much rng involved in HS
Prio 2: Implement tournament mode
Problem solved

That Elder Scrolls card game, Shadowverse, Faeria, Eternal, Gwent, MtG Arena ...
Pardon me if I take this Runeterra prediction with a grain of salt.
