Biggest thing killing this game in my opinion is the lack of deck diversity. Prob no way around it, but I'm not salty. I just gave up on caring about laddering. Let's me quit when I face the same deck for the nth time. I'm sure my opponent likes a free win. Everyone is happy.
People who say the game is dying, think they figured out the way Hearthstone could be better, they don't want it to happen, I think neither of us want as we have quite a collection of cards. But what do you do if game is just became a little bit more boring for you

Agree, the last bits of fun apart from Tavern Brawls and pack openings are when you play some meme/rare played deck
So, instead of looking at actual data such as quarterly finance reports from Blizzard, you're basing this conclusion solely on your own feelings and twitch numbers. HS used to have 30-40k on twitch and big streamers don't stream it anymore. 30-40k viewers isn't even a fraction of the entire playerbase! Most people just don't watch twitch.
3. The market never lies. More and more cardgames come out, most of them fail, but some don't, shadowverse, mtga etc this also tells us 2 things that alot of people want something different then hearthstone, and that a huge group of gamers prefer other card games then HS.
Your understanding of marketing is second to none!
New card games aren't coming out because people want something new but because other companies are fighting for the portion of the market that HS dominates.
Also, a huge group of gamers prefer other card games:
Thanks for responding! People like you will make sure the game doesn't die, and show us blizzard is doing some amazing stuff to keep a certain group of people actually emotionally attached to a corporation while making money out of them, it's really amazing.
You come here saying ''hs is dead lul'' and when proven false, with actual statistical evidence, instead of backing up your objectively false claims with further arguments or conceding you answer with ''you're a fanboy amazing huehuehue''. Yep, you sure have proven your point here, buddy! Really amazing.
You insulting me, to "go away clown" proves your very enthusiastic and fanatic about Hearthstone.
You were right, about one thing: Ccg like shadowverse, yugioh arent popular, in fact you didn't call out other card games that failed to reach the popularity like Hearthstone has. 1. Gwent 2. Elderscroll Legends 3. Artifact. The list goes on.
However: the fact that Gwent and Artifact were extremely popular on release tells us something that should not be overseen...
4. On release Gwent and Artifact were very popular, more then Hearthstone. 5. The fact these games on release were more popular tells us, that most people want something that is more fun then hearthstone. 6. Thing is these games coulnd deliver, however there will be another ccg with exceptional motivation, innovation and recources that will be able to capatilize on the weaknesses of Hearthstone, that game will probally be as popular like Gwent or Artifact on release and it will be able to hold the attention of it's audience.
Developers aren't just motivated by money but also by being better and creative, it's the nature of the ego and the artist.
And again, you're completely wrong.
Gwent and Artifact weren't extremely popular because people wanted something new. Gwent and Artifact were extremely (and I use this term very loosely) popular because of their strong and popular IPs. The only reason why anyone cared about Gwent is because it was, arguably, one of the more popular aspects of Witcher 3 and Artifact was only ''popular'' in terms of ''player numbers at launch'' because the DOTA 2 playerbase dwarfs that of HS.
Their launch numbers (launch lol Gwent didn't even get that far) were due to hype and they quickly died out because the games were trash at best. Those numbers don't mean anything. Ofc people will go and check out new games from popular IPs, but the fact that they didn't deliver proves that HS is far from dying.
I am completely wrong?
With this statement you are suggesting that nobody is interested in somethingnew, fun, innovative.
I believe you are speaking from your perspective if you aren't interested in something different and new that's totally fine, however alot of people here in this discussion have stated they aren't enjoying hearthstone anymore, looking for something else or already play something else. Also can you proof that games like Gwent and Artifact were only popular at release just because of the company's behind them? You are making claims based on nothing. This makes you lose your credibilty. The fact that the games mention didn't deliver doesn't prove HS is far from dying. It proves that those games weren't fun or good enough. The fact that these games were popular at release was partly because of the company's behind (you were right in that), the marketing team, and because of alot of people were looking different then Hearthstone.
I got enough evidence to speculate that HS is slowly dying. 1. Slower matchmaking 2. Low viewing numbers on Twitch. 3. Popularity of other ccg on release. 4. The number of people on Hearthpwn who stated: Don't like Hearthstone anymore. 5. The suspicous way of the Hearthstone team to increase the amount of events this season.

Can I prove that Gwent and Artifact were only popular because of their IPs? No, I can't give you a concrete proof of that but you can't deny that the IPs didn't play a massive role in their popularity. To deny so would mean that you're being blissfully ignorant.
The fact that the games were popular at release proves nothing. Newsflash, new games are popular on release, it is normal.
You've got no evidence to speculate that HS is dying. Other people here had already debunked your claims.
1. Completely subjective. I haven't noticed a slower MM and a lot of other people didn't notice it too. Even when I play wild, you know, the ''dead format'' I get a match in under 5 seconds at any time of the day.
2. Views of Twitch don't mean a thing. Even at its prime the numbers on Twitch weren't even a fraction of the global playerbase.
3. Every game is at its most popular on release.
4. Hearthpwn doesn't make even 1% of the entire playerbase.
5. Yes, now devs listening and giving us more is a sign that HS is dying. ok
5. Yes, now devs listening and giving us more is a sign that HS is dying. ok
I think that is a clear sign. Other games are going down in profits, while HS is doing somewhat good, though at lower player base
HS has only experienced growth is player numbers. Last year alone it hit a 100 million players, an increase of 30 million in 18 months. Even if you're seriously delusional and believe that a normal player has 5 alt accounts, that would still be an influx of 6 million NEW players 18 months, dwarfing alone the entire playerbase of other digital tcgs combined. If we're even more delusional and say that half of those are bots or some shit, there is still a 2 million player growth.
Now, Twitch used to have what, 40k viewers? Let's take this insanely lowballed number of new players, 2 million, and those Twitch viewers, shall we? That is 2% of the entire newly added playerbase. Keep in mind that we didn't even add the previous playerbase into account.
If you're even more delusional and you claim that HS has 2 million players now, which it doesn't, the Twitch viewership, at its highest, makes for only 2% of the entire playerbase. That is how meaningless Twitch numbers are and why you shouldn't take them into consideration while making a ''HS is dead argument''
There is no proof, whatsoever, that there is a lower playerbase at the moment. HS has experienced nothing except for growth since inception.
Has it been considered that Twitch in itself is the platform losing viewers overall, rather than collating that HS is dieing because there are less viewers on HS streams?
Just because the game is still being played doesn't mean it's not good or can't be better. Don't be allergic to criticism. My biggest gripe with the game is that the current belief is that the game has to be rock/paper/scissors. That control must defeat aggro, that aggro must defeat combo, that combo must defeat control, midrange is dead, etc. Maybe it's rose-tinted glasses but I recall even in metals like Grim Patron Warrior or greedy Reno decks that you could play smart and beat the decks favored against you. That rather than a deck having a 90% win rate vs it's favored prey, it was closer to 60%, so clearly a deck as favored but the other guy had a fighting chance. A polarized meta where the best move is bottom right is bullshit. We've had good metas in the past, why not bring them back?
I think the player base is shrinking and that's why bli$$ard is going so hard with paid content now. Paid Dungeon run, paid portrait in every expansion. This feels like Bli$$ard thinks the game is dying at least.
Pardon me if I take this Runeterra prediction with a grain of salt.
Well to be honest mtga bitch slapped hs like a truck. It took a huge crowd from it permanently. I and every player that i know has dropped hs completely for mtga. Sure 22 people are nothing for a mathematical or analytical conclusion but you can see a pattern nontheless.
With common sense, numbers, and personal experience I can say that Hearthtone is slowly dying. If the current situation continues I think more people will go to other card games especially when another card game comes wich will outpeform Hearthstone.
It has been scientifically proven that most humans overestimate their own common sense. (And stupid people overestimate it to a greater degree than smart ones.) I'll just mention that without further comment.
As for your numbers, they come from a source that has little to do with the number of people actually playing the game. Examining a similar source, I see that YouTube views for some top HS streamers have not dipped at all. Notably, Trump's numbers took a steep dive when he started making Runeterra videos.
And for the last piece, personal experience, I promise you that most of the people you are arguing with have a LOT more personal experience in this area than you do. Obviously I cannot prove that in any meaningful way on the forums, but I assure you it's true, and the experienced people know it.
But most important, in continuing this baseless argument, you are completely ignoring the common sense and experience of others. We all have access to the same numbers, so I guess our common sense and experience are telling us different things.
However, the people arguing against you are using much better sources for their numbers (such as the actual Blizzard financials), so honestly you lost this debate before you even started.

and this hallow's end event bringing back all these cards is just helping it along. Almsot everyone is playing control decks now, and every game takes like 20 minutes. I think so many people have already left the game it is taking me 2 to 3 minutes to even find a match in both standard ranked and casual.

Also I just got an email from Blizzard about my last month of gaming. I completed a total of 29 quests while the average in the NA region is just 12! That means people can't even bother to come on once every 3 days to clear out quests. They're barely logging on 4 times a month or so and doing 3 quests. Big yikes.

But you have no idea what the historical average has been, so this number is effectively meaningless.
It has always been the case that most Hearthstone players are quite casual, and many don't play every day. For the first year of the game, it was estimated that 75 percent of players never got above Rank 15.

Hs has been 'dying' for years, yet it's still around. You'd think all these people would get tired of being wrong at some point, but no. But of course all of this is pointless, because artifact killed hs ages ago. Maybe one day you'll even be able to find a match in that game
