1. Hs used to have 30-40K viewers on twitch, it's now under 10k. 2. Hong Kong incident speaks for itself. 3. The meta's were extremely boring for the last 3-4 years. 4. Most of the streamers who used to play hs are now mtga, the competition is doing it better.
This means a few things can happen.
5. Hs will be cast away in the realm of forgotten games 6. Hs will have a major patch wich will change the core of the game (I personally believe 9 classes are too many because it is impossible to balance all 9 classes at the same time) 7. Hs 2.0 will come out, wich will show that the developers have learned from previous mistakes.

:-) There have been much bigger (and more impactful) events than the recent Hong Kong issue (which is pretty small in comparison, unless you believe some of the more vocal rabble-stirrers on Reddit) and Hearthstone has come through those pretty successfully. That said, though, every game (regardless of it's content) has a "Prime Shelf-Life". Even WoW has dropped off significantly in player numbers since it's glory days - hence the re-release of Vanilla, in the hopes of generating a new generation of players and encourage some older ones to return. This is fairly standard.
For Hearthstone, it continually sees peaks and troughs in terms of player numbers, depending on the state of the expansions and we will see an influx again for the next one. As to how much gas is left in the tanks, as it were, who can tell? Blizzard have usually proven to be fairly good at revamping IPs when they need, and a Hearthstone 2 could be an interesting way forward - the problem there is the investment people already have in this game. Unless there was a way to transfer some of that investment forward (such as retaining your collection, etc), then many players would possibly be hesitant to committing to such a change.
So, instead of looking at actual data such as quarterly finance reports from Blizzard, you're basing this conclusion solely on your own feelings and twitch numbers. HS used to have 30-40k on twitch and big streamers don't stream it anymore. 30-40k viewers isn't even a fraction of the entire playerbase! Most people just don't watch twitch.
3. The market never lies. More and more cardgames come out, most of them fail, but some don't, shadowverse, mtga etc this also tells us 2 things that alot of people want something different then hearthstone, and that a huge group of gamers prefer other card games then HS.
Your understanding of marketing is second to none!
New card games aren't coming out because people want something new but because other companies are fighting for the portion of the market that HS dominates.
Also, a huge group of gamers prefer other card games:
Based on my feelings about this game, as a player that has played since beta - yes. It gets old sometimes. Yes, its boring when the meta settles. But no. I am not tired of it, and i will keep playing regardless of how many other players remain. It is quite simply, a good game.
Well im pretty sure this time its done for good .. I feel like the Hk incident was a shot to the head by Blizz and now Legends of runeterra is coming to put the final nail to the coffin. Its pretty sad actually that is going to die but it had it coming.. Blizz didnt really give a shit about HS since it was making money, its the same game since beta .. Its a miracle that it lasted that long.
Farewell my friend.
Yeah yeah like Artifact, we heard the same at that time, before Gwent, a little time ago MTGA and so on. LOL. Also for ignorant people like you, Riot, which owns LOL and LOR, is owned 100% by Tencent, a CHINESE gaming company. So if you think there will be any kind of freedom of speech and so on once the game goes to streaming/tournament mode, you are just fooling yourself.
Also the changes this year(card buffs, arena rotation mode with different expansions on it, bringing back wild cards, it's something.for some people.)
As for Legends of Runeterra, the gameplay is easy so the game won't die in 1month like Artifact. However in my opinion there are no unique mechanics(all taken from MTG and Hearthstone, with changed names). Also ffs I don't know if you used the same game engine as MTGA to create the game, but the attack of minions is EXACTLY the same as MTGA, come on people.
I actually stopped playing as I noticed my limited playing time per day as a casual is better spent somewhere else and I am now playing WoW classic and allocating that 3 hours per day for raiding twice a week.
When it was HS 3 hours could equal what? 18-36 matches if you play aggro? And for what? Grinding a pointless ladder for a golden epic the end of the month.
I still like to tune to play HS for the GM and will watch the finals for sure, but the game for me is pointless now. I can't see anything changing it.
The digital TCG market is doing its best to be as f2p friendly as possible while still bringing in a shit ton of money. Legends of Runeterra comes into this market with the same, absolute genius, marketing strategy that Artifact had: allowing players to buy individual cards for money.

Yes, HS is slowly dying. This happens at the mid way point between expansions, every expansion without fail. The viewship numbers go down and some people get a bit bored of the meta. But when a new set launches, then it's back to being one of the top games on Twitch.
For me, the number of Twitch viewers is meaningless. A more important measure is how long I have to wait in the queue for a game. If I play Standard I seldom have to wait more than 20 seconds to find a match. Wild can take a bit longer depending on the time of day but it rarely takes me longer than 45 seconds to find an opponent.
That people don't chose to watch HS on Twitch or stream it means little to me although I would miss some player's YT videos if they switched to other games. As long as I can play the game when I want and not have to waste time finding an opponent then I take that as a good sign of the overall health of the game.
Btw, from a financial perspective, companies don't usually pour money into failing ventures. Blizz have continued to invest in HS and the game has not lost any quality. To me this means that I am still willing to drop good money on pre-orders or normal packs from the store.
This isn't to say that things won't change. For now I'm not worried at all. I think HS will be around for another few years at least.
Also, looking at other online TCG's, absolutely none of them appeal to me. MtG is awesome, but I'm not getting sucked into that money death trap again. The new Riot game looks OK but the mechanics don't do it for me and the play style seems clunky and choppy. Gwent sucked from day one and I didn't even bother with Artifact. Just because people play and enjoy Hearthstone doesn't mean they like online TCG's in general. HS has something special about it, the look, the feel, there's just something there that sets it apart from everything else. If HS were to fade away I won't go looking for another online TCG to replace it. I would probably just not play games anymore since HS is the only game I play.

You insulting me, to "go away clown" proves your very enthusiastic and fanatic about Hearthstone.
You were right, about one thing: Ccg like shadowverse, yugioh arent popular, in fact you didn't call out other card games that failed to reach the popularity like Hearthstone has. 1. Gwent 2. Elderscroll Legends 3. Artifact. The list goes on.
However: the fact that Gwent and Artifact were extremely popular on release tells us something that should not be overseen...
4. On release Gwent and Artifact were very popular, more then Hearthstone. 5. The fact these games on release were more popular tells us, that most people want something that is more fun then hearthstone. 6. Thing is these games coulnd deliver, however there will be another ccg with exceptional motivation, innovation and recources that will be able to capatilize on the weaknesses of Hearthstone, that game will probally be as popular like Gwent or Artifact on release and it will be able to hold the attention of it's audience.
Developers aren't just motivated by money but also by being better and creative, it's the nature of the ego and the artist.

To me, HS is dying because of the lack of balance. Blizzard's intention is not to make HS enjoyable long term, but to convince players to play the game and buy packs with real money. "Look kids, we released a balance patch, come and explore new decks." And by balance, they just shifted the power of one class to another, you call that balance. To me, if you nerf a deck, it's ideal to soft nerf some other decks which the main was countering in order to counter balance things a little.
I also played MTGA and at first during closed BETA it was alright but after that, it looks like it's following the same path HS does, and that is to create absurd broken cards or combos in order to promote pack sales.
This Halloween event is kinda stupid. They brought back the most powerful cards from older sets. I'm sure there were other cards in those sets which didn't see any play when they were in Standard because of the broken ones, why didn't they bring those instead?
So yeah, if you want to have fun in games, play single player ones.
I recently tried MW2 it is so much fun because you need to use tactics, no RNG but less replayability of course. Also I like the fact that is super fast: some games end in 10 seconds, some can last up to 7 mins, but most are won/lost at 3 mins max.
It is pay2win, but not hard anf you can get losts of stuff if you spend $10, I haven't yet, but considering switching for a while from HS to it (Mushroom wars).

Gwent and Artifact weren't extremely popular because people wanted something new. Gwent and Artifact were extremely (and I use this term very loosely) popular because of their strong and popular IPs. The only reason why anyone cared about Gwent is because it was, arguably, one of the more popular aspects of Witcher 3 and Artifact was only ''popular'' in terms of ''player numbers at launch'' because the DOTA 2 playerbase dwarfs that of HS.
Their launch numbers (launch lol Gwent didn't even get that far) were due to hype and they quickly died out because the games were trash at best. Those numbers don't mean anything. Ofc people will go and check out new games from popular IPs, but the fact that they didn't deliver proves that HS is far from dying.
