3. The meta's were extremely boring for the last 3-4 years.
Seriously, is this a joke or what? :/ I hope there is a good justification for such a statement...
I don't think you can even state that something is boring since boredom is extremely subjective. I find League of Legends boring but the millions of players still playing will likely disagree, same sentiment applies here.
Also hi Sherman, glad to see you keeping your profile and signature pictures on fire as always.
Hehe, thank you very much, SneezingMeerkat!!! :D :D :D Nice to chat with you again, my friend!!! :) :) :)
I was trying to point out how strange and ridiculous is the fact Sebzero has been playing a game he finds boring for 3-4 years. I fully underestand my post wasn't totally clear for others, except maybe for Sebzero himself. My apologies for that, dude. ;)
It's not that subjective at all.
1. Hearthstone basicly only allows a few decks to be top tier. Result:You will frequently face the same decks over and over and over again over a very long period.
2. Most high performing decks since beta were aggro based. Result:The game was over before reaching turn 6.
These are facts, I didn't include the OTK and control decks wich were very boring imo too. Secondly, it's none of youre business what I do with my free time, if I want to play a boring game for 5 or maybe 10 years it's not your business. And personally nobody cares how you feel when someone tries to talk bad about the game you love and adore,.
Oh, no!!! A ninja from the Lin Kuei clan doesn't care about my feelings!!! :( :( :(
C'mon, dude, is that a joke or what??? Seriously, who cares??? :/
Also, yeah, fun is subjective, and nothing you say will change that. Guess what??? Many people out there enjoy a lot playing aggro decks and like metas where you face the same decks all over again, so deal with it!!! ;)
Thanks for your post, good bye and have a nice day.
Why did you start this thread in the first place? You're ignoring all the time everyone who proves you wrong. :/ Sorry to disappoint you, but you can't be right all the time, Sebzero... Nobody can. ;)
It does seem like the game is dying according to this former blizzard employee source. It's worrying at least.
#Actualfacts lol 4chan ''employee'' leaks c'mon what are 12 to still believe 4chan ''leaks''?
Dude, stop once and for all, please... You're not supposed to enlight others all the time. How old are you??? 12??? If someone is naive and/or ignorant, let him/her be... Let him/her live in his/her little bubble... In the end it's better for us. There are a lot of people out there that believes whatever shit they find on the internet and I see others all the time trying really hard to make them see reason (as you do). Is that a joke??? Why don't you just shut up and take advantage of that??? Sorry, but I guess the answer is because you're not as smart as you think you are...
I perfectly know all kind of people are probably going to read this comment, but to those smart enough to ignore all the bullshit random people say from time to time (especially on the internet), this is my message:
Thanks for your attention!!! ;) ;) ;)
Lulchina is like the dude who hears in the radio that there is a lunatic driving in the opposite direction and screams: "A single lunatic? There are thousands retards driving in the opposite direction on this fucking road alone!"
Ok, I wasn't going to reply to this comment because I still somewhat respect Lulchina, but damn, it's a jainaishot's post and I can't ignore it!!! XD XD XD
I have to admit you really made me laugh, my dear internet friend. That was funny to say the least, hehe. ;) ;) ;)
Hearthstone will never die... It will be one of those games which people remember and maybe come back to play some.. It has created so many memories.. Good and bad... Its a classic.
I think it will be a long and slow death, Hs losing it's popularity is old news, but games like mtg arena and now Legend of runeterra are standing in the limelight. LoR looks imo alot like hearthstone only better. If Team5 doesn't act quick things could turn out real bad.
Saying HS will die a "long and slow death" is exactly the same as saying it will enjoy a long life.
All games die eventually, so in saying it will take a long time for HS to die, you are basically acknowledging that it's not dying any faster than any other game would.
Honestly, I don't see myself enjoying Hearthstone much longer, and yes, it has a lot to do with mistakes they've made in the second half of this year. But I recognize that there are a lot of people who still enjoy HS and other Blizzard games, and I have no reason to believe those fans are going to leave. Hearthstone players have put up with terrible balance in the past, and they'll continue to do so in the future.
Plus, there's the effect of consumers who feel bad about leaving a game they've invested a lot of time and money in. That's a very powerful effect, and I think you might be surprised at how long it can keep a game going.
So even though I will move on, I don't project my feelings and motivations onto the millions and millions of total strangers who happen to be playing the same game as me.
Except for the fact, that for the fist time in a long time, there will be good competition next year with Legends of Runeterra. I know they said the same with other games, but this one is actually very good. It won't kill HS, but I think a lot of players will hop over. I sure will at least. Blizzards arrogance/disrespect for the community will cost them. It's the same with Star Wars Galaxies of Heroes, where they went to far milking the community and other stuff and a lot of players and youtubers moved on to dragon champions.
HS is in its final 2 years. Part of it is because of Blizz management, but not all. Virtual cardgames are slowly "dying", just like MMORPGs, MOBAs, AUTOCHESS. Yes this games atill have a constant playerbase, thats what I mean with "dying", hearthstone will reach a state of play that only faithful/loyal players will continue to play just what happens in WoW and LoL/DOTA.
Magic Arena is totally different, can't compare cause the bigger mass of its players came from the physical format (and continue in it as well).
I dont expect much from LOL's cardgame, 1 year max wil reach maximum playerbase (like Naxxramas in HS) and then decline to death like HS.
…. I completely agree that Hearthstone IS just a game..., which is why this whole "the game is kept boring by the stupid masses"-shtick is annoying me. They are literally complaining that most people (the fanboys, 12-year-olds, vulgar crowd) just want to have fun - which is sort of the point of most games...
Hearthstone is not just a game......Hearthstone is a major educator for young people playing this game.
What does Hearthstone educate ….for real live.
It is completely ok to be unfair (card design, e.g. Zephrys, classes falling from ladder).
It is completely ok to be nasty (BM through emotes, the reason why there is no autosquelch)
It is completey ok to reach your goal looking for the way of least resistence (don't care about board difficulties, ignore them, just burn. buff your way to victory).
It is completely ok to reach your goals without any possble show of skill.
These 4 leasons are brought about by card designers. Imagine 12-year olds playing this game for several years. Don't you really think this won't rub off, because 'it is just a game'? Why I think devs are the most repulsive individuals in the game industry. Any other game you need skill, tactics etc. to win games. Not with Hearthstone. You can win your game just by having a favorable match-up with your mindlessly aggressive deck.
You know what fun is? Outplaying, outmanoeuvre, outclass your opponent. Bringing a high skill floor deck to victory. People stop playing as the game is designed to win mindlessly. Even the classic fanboy is becoming weary.
Hearthstone will never die... It will be one of those games which people remember and maybe come back to play some.. It has created so many memories.. Good and bad... Its a classic.

Ofcourse not, when a patient is diagnosed with a uncurable cancer, that patient is slowly dying.
Secondly, what makes you think anybody cares about your ideas about freedom of speech? I know I don't, nor do I care about your feelings or thoughts.

No, assuming it's end-stage cancer (which is usually what we mean when we say it's "uncurable"), it's usually over pretty fast, like within six months or less. Often much less.
And I didn't say anything about freedom of speech. I was pointing out that you are projecting your dissatisfaction with the game by saying "everyone" is going to quit. I may also quit, but that doesn't make me automatically assume anyone else will.
Trust me, though, your lack of interest in other people's thoughts is loud and clear.
Have you ever considered why anyone else should care about yours?

HS has had doomsayers ever since the game launched. This is just the most recent out of many threads that we get each year. It will eventually die off and someone will open a new one after two months and we will start this charade all over again.

How is Sherman offtopic? He rightly pointed out that the things you don't like, others will enjoy. AKA subjectivity.
btw, "1. Hearthstone basicly only allows a few decks to be top tier. Result:You will frequently face the same decks over and over and over again over a very long period." That's every competitive game ever, people find what's good and use it. If you don't like it then play other decks or other modes or hell, just play another game (give hearthstone a little break and come back in a month or two).
"2. Most high performing decks since beta were aggro based. Result:The game was over before reaching turn 6." Did you forget the time when deathknight druid was literally the entire meta? That wasn't an aggro based deck, or how about highlander Priest? Tempo Rogue? Dragon Priest? Secret Paladin? Control Paladin? Hell Control Warrior is literally the tits right now. All of these were some of the highest performing decks to ever exist and guess what? none of them where aggro or even aggro based. I don't understand how you can throw about these numbers and statistics when there's ample evidence against it.
Like in everyday play, everyone was playing the exact same decks at the global championships - save 1 or 2 tech card difference. The exact same 30ish cards, out of a pool of hundreds. It goes to show there's no card balance, no room for originality or identity, there's power creep, there's stale and boring gameplay. It has been this like this since forever and it contributes to the reason why people are bored with it. Leading to, like you stated, ever less players and ever less stream viewers. Other reasons are the absurd amounts of RNG-outcomes from card effects, and indeed stuff like the Hong Kong affair - aka Blizzard supporting human rights violation - all for the money huh.
Here is a nice Google-chart, displaying global activity for Hearthstone 2013-2019 in Google Services like Search, Youtube, etc.
