Unless your aggro, and can beat them by turn 7, your just dead now to Mage? Typical game has them play Emperor on 6, into combo #1 play into Ragnaros, cuz the board is usually empty otherwise your dead, then combo #2 turn 9, and sometime they do it all in one turn!!
Why dont they "Blizzard" test this kind of stuff out first? It kinda ruins the fun and interactivty of the game1

Testing takes money, forethought, patience, and interest. Why bother doing any of that when you can just release some cards for free hype? They allowed Patches, Genn/Baku, they don't really care about balance.
IMO Evolve Shaman is more of a problem than the mages, 3 4 drops drops turn 3 with coin is the epitome of toxic gameplay.

Posts like this make me appreciate my preferences for playing wild to begin with. At least there you EXEPCT to see the broken shit and try to deal with it the best way you can accordingly.
This feels like they went overboard on the opposite end of the balance scale in standard somehow.
I don't know if I've just played people who played the deck badly, but my impression was how terrible flamewaker mage is. They just get 1 big turn where they do generally do a lot of dmg and clear the board, but then they've got an empty hand and I've got about 15hp left and a handful of cards. Then they concede.
I commend blizz for being brave and making such a massive move to shake up the meta, but I do think though that maybe they should have only added in class 'wild' cards and not the neutrals, or maybe just not added N'Zoth back in. The game feels like it did when Hadronox druid was king and that wasn't a good time.
Actually imo it's not that overpowered, but so annoying to play against. I'm a wild player and in wild there is plenty of decks that not too overpowered but too annoying to play against.
Why not get better at the game rather than posting useless dumb posts like this or at least change the title to "I'm having trouble with cyclone mage"
Unless the general concensus from pros is that a deck is busted it probably isn't and you will have more success against it with better gameplay and making sure you have a solid deck yourself. Bear in mind some match ups are terrible so if that's the case no point whining about it. People never complain when they've got the favoured match up

I'm not saying the deck is op or broken but the deck has some ridiculous OTK potential. Yesterday I was OTKed on turn 8. When their turn started they had no board, I had Rag + 5 mana priest minion that heals, I was at full health and my minions were too. I was OTKed by Flamewaker with support of Apprentice and Cyclone and an endless amount of spells, he didn't even need Emperor discount to make it work.
The deck isn't consistent but when they get the hand there's not really any way to play around it. You put as much health on the board as you can and hold onto your butt but sometimes they just kill you anyway - that's the nature of the deck. Ultimately you'll climb high enough on the ladder that you stop seeing them so much because the deck struggles to so more than break even in win/loss - it is totally at the mercy of draw order as it requires very specific combos to win, and it doesn't have the same level of draw power/survivability as something like Holy Wrath Paladin.
any deck that instantly wins when they draw a few cards, is broken IMO> at least give decks more answers to the plays. Wheres the game when its just a one sided beat down?
and heres another one with a control deck, but the point was, if they draw the cards its game over that early, which feels un-interactive. There was nothing I could do to stop it. Thats broken.
With normal OTK decks, u have time to beat them before they pull the OTK off, which usually doesnt happen till well after turn 10.

It's a very common thing I have heard streamers say about low rank players "People playing insanely greedy control decks who complain that aggro is OP and feel like a genius when they que Control Warrior."
check out some Quest Shaman's on HSreplay you can get away with 1-3 cards no one plays and still have a decent win rate, I hit Legend with a Magic Carpet in my Quest Shaman, but you have a TON of questionable cards in that Quest deck.
Also, You should have played Omega Mind. You totem'd three times against a deck you know is trying to kill you quickly. You needed play way more aggressively to defend yourself.
Note: a lot of players thing Questing Explorer is bad. These people is what is known as wrong. Questing Explorer has the one highest winrates in basically every Quest deck. With the exception of Druid cus they have Crystal Camal bae.
Same thing with you're other game. Though, your other Control Shaman is more sound as a deck I think cus it isn't trying to do too many things. That second deck is also super top heavy, and you played REALLY GREEDY. You had a 4-drop to throw on the board and you still play totems and wait.
If you make a deck that greedy you're going to lose to every deck that does powerful things and win early or midgame.

It isn't. Tempo Mage is known to be high roll or bust and it is therefore not a good deck. When it works it works but its just a noob killer deck that sucks for climbing past rank 5 where people don't just sit there and let you draw double Flamewaker and Emperor and lethal them.

I beat them every time with resurrect priest. There is a reason they are in the bottom of tier 2 or 3.
Imagine thinking Tempo Mage is overpowered...
Counters to Tempo Mage:
1. Every deck that plays minions. Put enough minions on board, and Flame Waker just doesn't do enough dmg.
2. Every deck with healing/armor. Heal or Armor up enough and Flame Waker just doesn't do enough dmg.
3. Every deck that pressures at all before turn 7, which you pointed out. They literally do nothing for a long time most games.
4. Any deck. Because sometimes Flamewaker is at the bottom and this deck literally beats itself by having no back up plan.
Actually, I'm curious. What in the world are you playing that Tempo Mage feels overpowered?
Which deck are you talking about?
Well I wish this was for just this month anyway, was less broken before these wild cards came in.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

Heres a great example of what I was talking about, and this was dead on turn 7.........https://hsreplay.net/replay/LVtAYvb5wpoH65B4s2JR8o

Yes there are decks that counter others, but my point was its broken as it stands right now.
The general consensus is thats its busted. Not fun, not interactive. Skill has nothing to do with this......https://hsreplay.net/replay/LVtAYvb5wpoH65B4s2JR8o
Crafted the cyclones, disenchanted them a few days later, really really regretful..
Also Play Highlander Hunter. It beats Mage and well, pretty much everything else...
Or if you don't have a big collection and just wanna beat Mage. Put SNIPE and PRESSURE PLATE in a deck and hit auto complete.
If they are dumb they will play a key minion into it and then concede immediately.
Even if they are not dumb. It is really hard to play around this cards for Tempo Mage and if they can't they literally auto-lose.
They can't play around Rat Trap either but it isn't as crushing.
