Hehe, I'm studying video game development at University right now and I'm going to release a 3D Tower Defense for mobile very soon. I'm very excited because people in general, especially teenagers, like it a lot. I showed it in a recent exhibition organized by the University and the City Government and a lot of people had the chance to play it, giving me a lot of positive feedback. :D :D :D
Do you think this is over by reducing punishment for Blitzchung? This will continue well after Blizzcon.

I'm ready and willing to bet with you that this will die out post Blizzcon. With new WoW exp, HS set, OW 2 (supposedly, not counting on it) and D4 I doubt that any of the outraged people that you're seeing now will care anymore and many of them who have ''uninstalled and left'' will be back in a heartbeat.

Hahaha, yeah, you made me laugh, don't worry. I'm glad I didn't decide to go mad and attack you with let's say a bit of sarcasm :P, as I would have have done in the past. Supressing certain impulses I'm very used to costs a lot, but you can be totally sure I'm trying and learning. :P :P :P
I've always argued that the game community, Hearthstone's in particular is reprehensible and vulgar. You're right. You've just confirmed it. Blizzard just have to throw some candy and they'll forget their outrage in an instant. Vulgar means here: without principle, no ethical framework.
There's a difference though. Hong Kong youngsters have my respect in their persistent protest against tyranny. They are very much trying to involve the West. So whilst you and your vulgar kind drool over the next expansion, these kids will keep haunting Blizzard. Rebels with a cause.

Hooghout, why do you keep adding fuel to the fire? Give us a break, please. Really, there is no reason to attack the community all the time, especially when we have nothing to do with the problems you have had or have in real life. It's like you're projecting all the hate you have towards some people you know or you knew into us. :(
Because, like you've said, he is projecting. Hooghout is an idiot who has been doing nothing but raging at the devs and the community since forever. I mean, Sherman, can you really blame him? You yourself told me that you're studying video game development and that you mean to accomplish something in that field. Now imagine that you've decided to be a burden in life and studied something as useless as philosophy. Trust me, you too would have been pissed at everyone around you and grasped at any straw to act superior to everybody else. Hooghout is an insecure, sad little man with delusions of grandeur. That is all there is to the story.
I mean, look at his last post. I didn't say, at any point since joining this forum, that I aim to keep playing Blizzard games and forget about this after Blizzcon. My post history is public, make sure to check it if you don't believe me, yet resident clown here keeps pedaling his own bitter narrative. I can't imagine that anyone here takes anything that he says seriously anymore.
If that is true, maybe we should cease hostility towards Hooghout and others like him. Of course, I'm not saying we should let ourselves be trampled by these people, no, just that we must try to show we don't have any intention to really harm them, at least most of us. I'm pretty sure behind this keyboard warrior hides a good person, just because he always acts with anger and not malice, which are two totally different things. He is probably very afraid of people like us and he is not going to admit it, so I guess we are the ones who should take the first step. All of this may sound a bit stupid, but really, who the hell cares??? It's time to change how we deal with others in the forum, to make this a better place for everyone. :)
Aaaaaaaaaand there it is, the entire matter is pretty much dead both here and on reddit (where the largest portion of online community is). I didn't even last as long as the firings outrage. Oh, well...back to usual I guess

This thread is dead because the debate over whether it’s worth talking about is pretty much over, with only pretty much you here still active in arguing against it. This thread doesn’t serve the purpose that, say, Reddit does in continuing momentum to a large audience and providing news, updates, and pro HK memes. All the arguments for and against are pretty much spent here, so I’m pretty done with this thread as well.
On reddit I see around 8 “hot” posts from the last 24 hours about the issue, each with typically a few hundred comments. It’s not nearly as ubiquitous as before but I hope it stays alive. Also it’s almost certainly going to get a bump right before and during Blizzcon.
Also I want to mention that for the most part, people aren’t arguing that it will last. They argue that it should. Maybe those same people moved on too quickly and that’s a shame. I know you think it won’t last but I find it questionable that you would take it as a victory that it didn’t. A “I told you so” over the freedom of an oppressed population.
I don't count this as a victory. Like I've mentioned before, I don't care for what is going on in China. I only cared for the hypocrisy of the outraged HS mob who were talking big game, deleting their accounts, taking it to Blizzard because now, all of a sudden, everyone cares for the freedom of others and it died out in less than a week. Like I've said, outrage monkeys.
Props to those who actually went through with their promises and provided evidence of deleting their accounts and collections as a sign of protest. Also props to those who are working on showing their support of HK at Blizzcon (as long as they don't harass anyone).To everyone else, see you all in December lol
Personally, I'm just waiting for Blizzcon and see what happens there (I wanna know what else Blizzard has to say about the topic). I didn't reinstall Hearthstone yet, neither the Battle.net launcher. ;)
Well, the community (all around the world) forced Blizzard to reconsider their actions and even when this company's speech about it was very poor, blitzchung accepted the new terms, which are completely reasonable (at least from my point of view). ;) It can be said our labor ended there, because our protest was listened, and it was against Blizzard, not China.
Nothing will happen at Blizzcon. Armchair activists are too lazy to get off their butts, and internet trolls don't come out during sunlight. This topic so dead.
In Out of Cards (the "new" Hearthstone forum), Fluxflashor decided to make fun of China's president Xi Jinping by automatically putting at the bottom of each thread a picture of Winnie the Pooh (because people have been comparing them), which is really dumb if you ask me. As I have said the protest was against Blizzard, not China, but it is more easy for some people to resort to silly insults and encourage stupidity I guess... -.-
