People acting like blizzard are taking sides and opposing people. Twitch and YouTube are very careful about what is considered hate speech. Obviously there is no place for that kind of stuff if you plan to stay monetized on those platforms. Blizz is just following the rules to protect their interest on these platforms. I know tons of content on YouTube you can get political your fix from.
Hate speech rules are already ridiculous with Twitch and other companies, but this has literally nothing to do with hate speech. Idk why you'd bring that up unless you were trying to make the excuse that blitzchung speaking out was hate speech.
The devil here is the Chinese authoritarian government.
This fact is being completely lost in the conversation. Blizzard has handled this situation incredibly poorly. And Blitzchung knowingly put himself in this position. But the worst party in the room is still China's government.
That true , but Blizzard also has some kind of power, and its about how much you let yourself subjugate for this price of money/power. If Blizzard is nodding , yes and Amen, to everything China says, they sold themselfes for the most important thing . Freedom.
And trust me i know how much freedom is worth growing up in East-Germany where everyone spyed against everyone. Ppl died for Freedom. Of course this is a huge topic just for a simple game , but evil only get so strong because good ppl look away and point finger at others.
Again everything very unfourtunate and poorly , without any tactfulness, handled by Blizzard. They deserve some s...t for this.

I completely agree that Blizzard deserves the shit they're catching for how callously this was handled.
Sitting back watching a ethics-free company as Blizzard in a controversy on morals. Blizzard is a repulsive company. Card designers team 5 are repulsive individuals (looking at their skill-free card design). It's all in the family.
The pro-Blizzard/T-5 card design pundits on this forum likewise having a hard time putting their standard ethics-free comments to bare on the subject.
Moral reasoning in terms of fairness and the right thing is probably hard to some. Power and money is a combo that automatically makes you a lesser man. For now the power and money mindlessness of Blizzard unfortunately costs someone his place at a tournament. Reprehensible!
I'm sure some mod dude will be tempted like Blizzard to show me the door.

We make our world significant through the courage of our questions and the depth of our answers.
The devil here is the Chinese authoritarian government. If Blizzard allowed the kid to stay on, they would of been banned from the Chinese market by the government so Blizzard would be losing millions from their customers.
Blizzard is a business so you can't blame them for this decision. Different people have different morals.
No we can blame blizzard for any decision they make, they might have no moral values but I have them.
We are not arguing here what blizzard did was legal or illegal you see for me what blizzard did was immoral and I am going to fkn disrepute them in every platform I attend.
I'll say it again, they are a business. They won't lose millions of profits from the Chinese market because of some kid showing support for Hong Kong. Blizzard are following the rules of the Chinese government.
Yes, hiding behind rules and profits to hide lack of personal ethics. Why generic prescription drugs few dollars worth, bought by a company, suddenly increased price by 10000% is met with deserved outrage? I suppose you are ok with that too. After all, it's a business, right?

You're acting like Blizzard is the only company who is doing this. Businesses have always cared about profits for years.
What Blizzard is doing ain't nice but that's how most of the shareholders think in all the big companies.
Why there is no news about it on hearthpwn.com? Do they want to be the problem or the solution? It is the biggest story for Hearthstone and Blizzard since a long time.
@Hearthpwn, just concealing the information makes you tacitly accepting the humanitarian disaster in Hong Kong.
I don't really post here these days but I wondered the same thing. A major Hearthstone story - even on BBC news but not here?
Most recent news item is a card creation competition. Hopefully this site will catch up to the others shortly as this just a content creation lag issue.

Why aren't you blaming the Chinese government?. You must be brainwashed to think it's blizzards fault.
I am already blaming Chinese government for many things Why would I blame them for blizzard's decision
Banning a player from HS, the world goes crazy. Invading a country to suppress and eliminate(I fear that it will be a genocide, mark my words) a "terrorist" group (Turkey's invasion to clear out Kurds), not a single word in reddit, HS, and so on.
WHAT a wonderful world we are all living.
P.S 1 Of course I don't support Blizzard's move. It's disgusting, unethical, undemocratic. They should apologize and return him to his position. But this won't happen , no matter the ruse that arises in all the forums worldwide.
P.S 2 Don't start talking crap about we don't talk politics in game forums, because that's this post about. Maybe the Kurds' issue is not a video game issue(I am sure they wish that was), but nonetheless is political.
P.S 3 "I cancel my account" , "I will not pay Blizzard anything more" may affect Blizzard , or not. I don't know. But this doesn't help the Blitzchung and his purpose, the right of Taiwan to be an independent country. So instead of cursing Blizzard, try to find ways to help what is really needed to be helped.

Blitzchung's situation originated literally DURING hearthstone grandmasters and relates to the Hong Kong protests.
You've just hypocritically brought up Turkey and the Kurds which has nothing to do with hearthstone whatsoever. While chastising others for politicizing game forums.

And where is my hypocrisis sir? Nowhere. Unless you support the invasion, but you have the right to do so, I won't critisize it. And I didn't say to anyone to NOT politicize game forums, I said, don't give in your responses the usual no-politica crap. So, BETTER learn to read what the other has written and then respond.
My point was, that if a Kurd was playing HS and then someone called him while streaming and told him to defend the invasion, everyone would go mad. So please f*ck off, with your hypocrisis that you defend Blitzchung , I bet you are just a spoiled kid selling democracy in forums while doing nothing in real life.
Invading a country to suppress and eliminate(I fear that it will be a genocide, mark my words) a "terrorist" group (Turkey's invasion to clear out Kurds), not a single word in...HS...
I mean, that wouldn't make any fucking sense in a HS forum.
I haven't looked but I'm positive you could find it on Reddit because there's a thread about everything on reddit.
This thread is currently hidden from the recent posts on the front page. Mods sucking on the warm teat of China I guess.

That's entirely wrong. I literally just clicked it to get here. If it's hidden, it's your ISP doing the hiding.

It's back for me too. Must've been put back after I commented on it

... and this is why they discourage political discussions in the forums, as well as why they don't run political stories on the site.
"Why, you never expected justice from a company, did you? They have neither a soul to lose nor a body to kick." -- Lady Saba Holland
Listen guys, if you're going to discuss this topic it needs to remain related to the topic. Enough with personal attacks.
Exactly. Hearthstone / Streams / forums should all remain apolitical. There is other places and other media for this.
Occasionally gives helpful advice.
