While I don't agree with the inflation as dust values have remained the same ever since, I feel you in regards of the reward system being absolute BS. Like there is no need to grind beyond rank 5 unless you are a try-hard "pro". Just get your golden epic for the month and dust it if needed to craft an epic of your choice. They have to either tune the dust reward, I am against adding packs or gold as rewards in my opinion as we already have daily quests and tavern brawls for those freebies.
there really is no point in playing the game at all except to waste time. There is nothing to win or achieve once you have gotten the legend card back. Rank 5 is not even worth the time. Do the daily and log.....YawnStone

Why are people so greedy to get rewards for playing the game? You're supposed to play games because you enjoy them, or they stimulate you in some way. If you don't enjoy the actual game why play it?
I always wonder why people complain about 2 legendaries per class. Sure, it makes owning the whole expansion more expensive but as many have pointed out, you do not need all cards to play a decent deck. A deck is made of 30 cards and that's all you need to play.
In the past when each class only had one legendary per expansion, it was very sad for the class lovers when the legendary was a flop.
Now there are 2 legendaries, at least one will be useful. In fact, it creates more deck variety. Quest Paladin makes use of the quest, while murloc Paladin uses Finley, although it is simply treated as a murloc.
Also, each deck makes use of only 1-3 new legendary cards from the latest expansion. Unless you are a brand new player, you should have most of the cards from previous expansions

Owning the whole expansion has not become much more expensive. We have 2 more legendaries in modern sets compared to older ones (23 instead of 21). 3200 dust more, but it's not a massive amount.
But the introduction of 2 class legendaries meant that legendaries could be more powerful and support specific playstyles better. While there are still expansions with rather weak legendaries like Witchwood or Rastakhan, it's not uncommon that there are about 10 strong, important legendaries in a modern expansion, while older sets had about 5 that were good and maybe a few more that were just ok or interesting. And nowadays, you craft more legendaries for specific classes, if not decks.
I agree that this made the game more interesting. I prefer classes using their class cards instead of all using the same neutrals. But if you want to have all the good cards from an expansion, whether it makes sense or not, it became more expensive.
Cho is one of my favourite cards ha ha. He's so annoying for my opponent to deal with .
I'm a ftp player, I usually stand around rank 10 (mostly, as I don't have the time to play enough to seriously climb the ladder). I find I just stick to 2-3 classes, and burn cards for other classes so I can get cards I need for the ones I like to play .

that's a problem I also have - I used to get Rank 5 every month but now it feels like a time waste because it's not fun anymore - so I played some arena which I do like but my main problem with the game is that you have to be active and can't take a break if you want to come back and be able to play the game - there is also the point that so many I used to play the game with are quitting ...
I used to buy every pre-Order + some extra packs every now and then. I actually stopped spending money because of how bad the reward system HAS BECOME. Dust inflation is real and its a shame that most fun/meta decks these days cost around 10k dust if you don't wanna play the most straightforward aggro deck.
Given how bad the rewards from playing the game itself are and how much most decks cost now it does not feel good to spend 50 bucks as it doesn't provide as much of a decent start into a new expansion as it used to do. Might as well stop spending completely then
Honestly, I enjoy the game more now that I don't spend money on it. I only like certain classes anyway, I don't grind the ladder, and I just play for fun (mainly in the first few weeks after a new expansion).
Hearthstone used to be the only digital CG in town. But now other games have come along, which are much more generous (and arguably more interesting and competitive). Blizzard refuses to compete on value terms, which will ultimately kill the game.
Of all the digital CGs I have played, Hearthstone has easily the worst rewards for playing.

People making excuses about being poor. Utterly hilarious.
