Hey guys and girls, I’m very close to crafting Zephrys, but I’d like to know how to use him properly. What cards does he usually offer on different mana costs? I know that some people manipulate their mana in a way that he offers a concrete card like Mass Dispell or Sorcerrers Aprentice. Is there a lot to learn about the card or should I just craft him and try for myself?
Zephyrs is pretty much whatever you want him to be. The mistake I see a lot of players make is pointlessly playing him early, this is bad for 2 reasons. First, you’re most likely wasting his effect for really mediocre value. Second, you’re broadcasting too early that you’re a highlander deck. As far as I know he checks hero powers, board state, and remaining mana. You should usually be using him to fish for board clears or lethal damage. Keep in mind board clear costs and damage when trying to figure out when to play him.
Play him when you have a situation where the board is overwhelmed against you and lethal is in site for your opponent. Play him when there is a taunt you just can't get past. Play him if you want to get rid of your opponent's weapon. Play him when you just need that last burst face damage to have lethal.
Never play him on an empty board without purpose. He is not a tempo card. He is there as an emergency only card.
board clears: play him on 10 for nether, 9 for flamestrike, 6 for consec, 5 for storm, 4 for arcane explosion lot of deathrattles/reborns/effects/buffs: play with remaining 6 for mass dispell big minion: play with 5 remaining to get death, 8 for siphon winning with a lot on board: play with 7 remaining for bloodlust enemy 10 or less: play on 10 for pyro next turn, 6 or less: play with 6 or more for fireball
Its pretty easy, just know what basic/classic you want to play with 2 to float if you need it immediately, or within range for next turn and you will get it.
There is nothing really important to learn from other players on Zephrys. His wiki page on Hearthstone has an estimation of the cards he will offer. Based on current mana levels that is really up to you as a player to know the basic and classic set and what you think you need based on the board and the opponents health/weapon.
What you guys are talking about? Play him in an empty board when you start the game to get a ramp card is amazing, a feature never avaiable to 8 class before.
To add on to the other posts you can often manufacture the right card for the situation, such as by making trades and leaving your opponents minions at 4 health to guarantee a flamestrke.
I recently tried to get Sacrificial pact but didn t get it. I played Voidcaller, tapped and something else so that when I played zephrys I had 0 mana left. I also was in a board state where after the tap I had 6hp and opponent had 6dmg on board. And with my Voidcaller I could have healed and put a Voidlord om the battlefield if he suggested Sacrificial pact. He offered me a fckin Lay on hands. I know he doesn t know what cards are in my hand but I didn t know he would skip preventing lethal over sacrificimg my own minions.
And for the record I specificaly played cards and tapped so I would know if he offers the pact for my own minion. I had a lot of other ways how to heal- I was simply curious.
So dont expect Zeph to Sacrifice your own minions even if it would prevent lethal.

It's that simple.
Every card is a tempo card if the situation warrants it
board clears: play him on 10 for nether, 9 for flamestrike, 6 for consec, 5 for storm, 4 for arcane explosion
lot of deathrattles/reborns/effects/buffs: play with remaining 6 for mass dispell
big minion: play with 5 remaining to get death, 8 for siphon
winning with a lot on board: play with 7 remaining for bloodlust
enemy 10 or less: play on 10 for pyro next turn, 6 or less: play with 6 or more for fireball

Thanks a lot, very helpful!
Generating tempo is a puropse, and he is actually a good tempo play on 2 in a number of matchups/situations.
Not only can he be played for tempo on curve, but some decks are thrilled to gain a turn-3 Wild Growth they would otherwise not have access to.
But if you're not one of those, the most common uses for him are for silence effects, board clears, and generating lethal.

Also adding to everything said already:
-For weapon removal, play on 3 for Bloodsail Corsair , on 4 for Acidic Swamp Ooze or on 7 for Harrison Jones
-For silence, on 2 for Silence, on 3 for Earth Shock or on 6 for Mass Dispel
-Specific techs: Hungry Crab if enemy has a murloc, Blood Knight for divine shields, Flare or SI:7 Infiltrator for secrets, The Black Knight for taunt removal
-Usual removals are Backstab, Lightning Bolt and both power words
-With a wide board, Soul of the Forest is usually given instead of pure damage cards (such as Savage Roar) unless there is lethal
-Giants (mountains and sea) are usually suggested when they're cheap

He is everything, a turn 2 tempo play too.
Zephrys can teach you lol

I play him early cause I can bounce it back if needed
