DK Jaina was usually kept in the opening hand. Also it was often a good decision to wait with the coin until turn 8 to get Jaina online ASAP.
Is this what you experienced? or is it what you think? I cannot recall that many game in which they keep DK Jaina in the opening hand. DK Jaina on turn turn 8-9 was possible, but probably players were not likely to keep it. Reason? Back on these day, they have to find the way to survive till turn 9 since there were so many thing that can beat them early. Nowaday is different since there is no other Hero cards to compete with Dr.Boom. Even in the whole year of Raven, Dr.Boom saw almost no play just because other Hero cards exist, but right now it's dominant. The fact that it's the only competing Hero card makes Warrior feel safe to keep a 9 cost in their opening hand is just purely bad.
Its what I have experienced and I have seen it in tournaments many times. Jaina was the most impactful card in the deck and I remember losing some favorable games because Jaina was at the very bottom of my deck. Mirror matches were basically decided by who drops Jaina first.
I see the nerfs as beneficial, it balances things out so agro has more chance against control and the winrate is not so high against all archetypes. What i don't get is that people are saying: "yeah i still see the card played" or "same meta, nothing new". It has defenitely changed alot (just looking at stats alone) and nerfing never meant making it unplayable or to be pushed out of meta. Strong cards still are strong but playing on curve proves to be a challenge at times. Just not so much impactful for dr.boom as it is for galaxy now imo.

Jaina being kept was only on control matchups, you really wanted to find your aoe against other decks and combo was almost an auto loss anyway.
I bet you can keep boom in control matchups still, but most control decks right now can go the distance against warrior.
Can you list one control deck in meta except CW ?
The thing is, CW could keep Dr Boom in their mulligan even against aggro. Now, a T9 Boom can be quite the game losing move.
