Though i've heard 'bout some homebrew setups allegedly fine for ranking, but massively mage has the worst win rate statistics at this moment. They might find some tier 2 setup i bet, but i doubt we see any mage tier 1 at least untill next expansion.
Both Warlock and Rogue appear to be worse off.
Warlock always has Zoo to fall back on. That decks is a cockroach that just won't die. Even when it's not "competitive" it's still really damn annoying to face.
how does a deck i win games with all the time and never play luna affected by a luna nerf? luna is strictly a "i"m bending your ass over and pouring in the sand for good measure" card? The mage highlander deck has so many stupid ass mana tempo gains it isnt funny. here play pilgrim and cast a free 10 mana yogg...seriously wtf. The deck can withstand tempo loss because it makes up for it in so many ways.
EVen at 7 mana, Luna's Pocket Galaxy still has a mulligan win rate over 65%.
Singleton Mage has an overall win rate of at least 55%.
That doesn't smell like a dead class. However, it's indisputable that the popularity of Mage has dropped.
Putting these facts together, we can infer that what used to be a low-skill easy-win deck is now a skill-intensive deck that many players became frustrated with and abandoned after the nerf.
And let's not forget that the nerf was followed by a pretty powerful buff to Power of Creation, since the average neutral 6-drop is statted much better than the average Mage 6-drop.

I use Mage a lot an used Luna's Pocket Galaxy but there are times when you play it and you still lose (this is when you use it at the right time). Someone mentioned before that Mage only has answers to things and nothing else (basically unable to sustain a decent board) and I am starting to see that person's point. I struggle to go up the ranks with Mage because there are obviously better Mage decks (and I use Highlander Mage). The moral of the story is that Mage just isn't a good class. Pocket Galaxy is good, but you can still lose even after playing it.
Also, they didn't do anything to Power of Creation. It's still the same.

.
Actually, you are wrong. Mage is not an "OP" class. I feel like it is one of the worst.
Yet the deck is shit in general.
More like set.
Nope. Mage is a poor class, full stop.
