Maybe its just me, But I feel that the dust refund method as of now is a little unfair. Newer players that craft decks based around cards that eventually get nerfed ( And possibly make the deck unplayable ) Are now stuck with the support cards bought. I dont know how this could be addressed, but perhaps making all the new cards refundable for full price when I nerf occurs. ( with some kind of restrictions )
I havent done this is a long time, but I remember as a new player I did it a few times, And it feels like all your hard work went down the drain if you only have 1 or 2 decks to play with.
I'm with you, with luna nerf my reno mage is garbage tier and all the dust I used in this deck is gone. But there's nothing we can do when we play a game from a small indie company.
For years the players have encouraged each other to wait until a rotation's nerf round to craft decks. It is a general practice to save your dust until the nerfs are announced and then build from there. It is also suggested that if you love a class you play the most budget friendly deck that class offers. There are a pretty relative amount of decent quest decks that are cheap right now. The only defense I have for new players and, cough cough, ignorant players is the rotation/nerfing of classic and basic. THAT is true bs on Blizzard's front. We need access to strong cards that will be relevant for the life of the game of a starting set.
If you are free to play, you have to be careful what you craft -- and when. There's nothing wrong with that.
Also, when one card gets nerfed, it doesn't render all the other cards from that deck useless.
For example, Mage decks are getting hit pretty hard, but I suspect we'll see a new Mage list rise from the ashes of the old ones. There are still many powerful Mage cards that were underestimated while they were living in the shadows of Galaxy and Calling.

i think the nerfs are done after the purchase and crafting rate drops off so the maximise money, its a good business model
Or they wait and see what actually needs nerfing. As if the meta needs to settle a little to let people figure out how to optimize decks. Then they can get some actual data and feedback instead of all the crazy ratings people give cards as they're revealed.

One glaring issue with this logic: if no one played with or crafted new cards, and instead waited for the “inevitable” nerfs to hit, would the nerfs ever come? The nerfs can only come when new cards are played and the next best broken mechanic/synergy is discovered (usually by a streamer then copied by an endless amount of sheep). So, maybe new or F2P can wait, but not everyone. And even at that, how much fun is it to play the same stupid decks with no new cards until maybe nerfs arrive?
Jan'alai was a must craft when we think odd decks will still around for another year, then, Blizzard decide send the odd decks to Hell Wild two weeks later I crafted the card and now is a useless piece of garbage.

Well, we all got a free legendary on log in and most of us probably saved up to open at least 10+ packs. I find it hard to believe for maybe 1k or so dust you couldn't fill in some new cards on budget. This is also the absolute low end of an investment. The rest of us paid money either now/before and are riding the dust train now so yeah there will always be a competitive and ladder grind scene shaping the cards' futures. I thought it was pretty clear on a thread like this that I was speaking to people who needed that advice. And how fun is it? That isn't my concern. If you are on a budget then you are sacrificing something for something else. Glaring issue with your logic here: waiting and playing the same stupid deck isn't fun and why should you have to wait for nerfs, but then complain and defend a thread that is sad nerfs made the deck they crafted unplayable? Should Blizzard unlock every card in the collection for you because you're not having fun? No.
when you think about it it's awesome think about this 20000 dust for a reno mage deck
they nerf a strong card that helps it snowball outta control u get 1600 dust
u get a net loss of 18400 dust wasted if u crafted it from scratch about -92% NET LOSS holding other derp cards in your collection that can't make a cohesive deck with but that remains to be seen
BLIZZARD = PROFIT and you have no playable deck
looks good and i guess they get what they deserve for net decking i feel great any time that happens just makes me happy SO HAPPY because instead of trying to fix the toxicity they JOIN IN ON IT for excuse COMPETITIVE REASONS and PLAGUE the meta they are as much as the PROBLEM and that makes me happy get your hands caught abusing the cookie JAR u DESERVE EVERY SINGLE BIT OF THE RECOURSE FEELS GOOD I"M CELEBRATING FROM THE HEAVENS!!!!!!!

Kinda have to agree. You netdecked an autopilot cancer deck, and now you get rekt. Karma is a nasty bitch
it's not about fair or unfair to new players it's to ALL players it's not fair if u want to have that competitive advantage and you go ALL In on it and later it MAY become USELESS don't blame BLIZZARD

They just should not copy netdecks.

Kingsbane was the least fair nerf ever - nerfing the key common that makes the deck work. At least here you get the refund on the legendary.
Mage, Priest, and Warrior are still playable.

No, that was the actual problem card. Kingbane is still fine in wild so i don't see why you are complaining?
Always expect the unexpectable!
thank you for agreeing ...

Many things are unfair in the game, but the dust for nerf isn't one of them.
