I think the nerf is too hard. Dont forget that the Hero card is actually pretty useless in terms of progaming. Its 7 mana do nothing on play. Now its 9 mana do nothing on play.
just lol. even if that were remotely true, the randomness alone makes it worse. consistency is king.
When every random outcome is wildly OP, the aggregate outcome over time is extremely consistent.
if you honestly think boom is better (or even as good) as the top DKs from KFT, then there's really no discussion to be had here. have a nice day.
I don't think he's better than Gul'dan. I think his hero power is better than Gul'dan's. But Gul'dan's battlecry is absolutely nuts, and it's the main reason that card is strong. Also, Gul'dan costs 10 mana, so I don't know why we're even talking about him.
Boom's hero power is definitely at least as good as Jaina's, probably better. Her battlecry is better because it generates board presence. The auras are probably tied.

Agreed. Jaina needs stuff to ping, Boom doesn't care. His armor gain is better than health gain in a fatigue match. Guldan has a nuts battlecry, but we are talking about Warrior, so I doubt Warrior would just concede after a mass ress.
Even Warlock and Control Warlock with Gul'dan were all unfavoured against Warrior even without Boom, Devastators and the such.
Malfurion, Garrosh, post-Raza Anduin, Thrall and Uther don't hold a candle. Boom is the only thing that usually allows Warrior to steal a game from Four Horsemen Paladin.

The thing is the DK's from KFT aren't in Standard anymore, so Boom is unchallenged. It shouldn't be in Standard either.

The only clear winner over Boom is Rexxar.
