Mage was hurt badly, but it only lost things which made the slower matchups extremely favorable. If aggro gets predominant with Warrior decrease (which I particulaly dont believe will happen) Reno Mage will be fine.
I'll tell you where Warrior WILL drop a huge win percenage: the Quest Druid matchup.
As one of those cheating bastard hucksters that thoroughly enjoys Control Warrior, I can honestly say I don't see a consistent path to victory against this deck anymore.
Please don't caricature what I just said into "warrior never wins against druid". I simply guarantee you'll see a 15 point swing in that matchup at the very least after these nerfs.
As someone who's played quite a bit of quest druid I agree with this. Boom on 7 made the games really tough. Not unwinnable, but every turn after 7 that boom didn't get played my chances of winning went way up. Boom played at T10 and later is basically GG, my snowball has been rolling too long.
I don't know why people think Mage is going to crash vs warrior now. With boom at 9 it just got easier. CC got nerfed, yes, but the nerf doesn't prevent late game pressure, just makes early game shenanigans less likely. CC mage is still going to walk all over warrior without much problem.

Could possibly be true if mage switches away from highlander and starts running two copies of cc. But with just 1 cc and no more lunas I don't think mage will be able to pressure warrior enough
Luna's will definitely still see play. I will still play it in my malygos freeze OTK combo deck, but as it is played now? Most likely not. So, I would argue that those who were using Luna's to set up OTK combos, aren't really affected that much as those who would auto-cast it turn 5 or 6.
Warrior will still be extremely viable, and will remain competitive.
I bet you guys my gold collection that Zul'jin hunter will be the most dominant deck after the nerfs hit.

I don't think Highlander mage was the most played mage deck but I could be wrong. I mostly saw the typical cyclone giants mage.
I don’t understand the “boom has nothing to do with aggro matchups” argument. The card on 7 pretty much guarantees the win against aggro. Yes warrior has so many other tools but aggro decks can outresource that. Warrior is not a god after all... Mechs having rush after boom is like a unlimited removal option for warrior. After this nerf, it will be delayed more than 2 turns because there’s a less chance that they will find a board state that allows skipping a turn at 9-10 mana. And no one will keep a 9 mana card in the mulligan so the chances they have it anytime in the game will drop too. Overall I beleive it will loose at least 5% against many other decks and this will be enough to make it a fair deck.
Reno mage will loose the burst potential against warrior now. Probably will loose even more to aggro. Having incredible turns against aggro was important to shut them down. I don’t see it will be as good again. I’m happy that I could keep myself from crafting missing 3 legendaries for the deck. I’d be very disappointed. Lunas is easy dust btw...

Most aggro decks run out of steam by turn 7. Turn 9+ boom is of no consequence

Not saying you're wrong necessarily but curious how you came to that conclusion when the three decks that current Hunter builds (Highlander or otherwise) are known for being strong against all got nerfed and will likely see less play. If anything I'd expect more aggressive strategies (aggro Rogue/Warrior/Shaman, Zoo Warlock and Murloc Paladin) all to pick up momentum and give Hunters a hard time.

Warrior runs aggro out of gas before you even get to turn 7 in most cases. Aggro matchups are probably the only case where keeping 7 mana Boom in your hand is actually incorrect (don't know the stats as I don't pay for premium HSR but the 65% mulligan win rate of the card probably doesn't apply vs aggro). What curbstomps aggro is having Town Crier to hit your midgame anti aggro minions, Eternium Rover to give you the ability to fight for board AND gain life in the early turns, Restless Mummy, which is an instant 2 for 1 against most aggro boards (or deals with something like Thunderhead 1 for 1), Dynomatic, which is a massive swing card against small boards, a plethora of single target and AoE removal and a basic hero power that is literally anti aggression by nature. If you're relying on Boom to beat aggro you are playing the deck wrong.
I disagree, Warrior will still be fine against aggro if the meta does shift that way but I do think Mage got hit big enough that some of the decks using LPG will not be as strong and fall out of favor for something like secret Mage, which Warrior still has no issues against.
I don't know why this thread is still being posted on as if we don't now know the results of the nerfs.

I've got 75 games on Control Warrior today. 50% of those games have been against hunter, mostly Highlander, but with a distinct smattering of old-school mech.
The difference between a 7-cost Boom and a 9-cost Boom is ENORMOUS. There will obviously be a material difference in win rates, and so far it looks as if both highlander and mech hunter will have the advantage in that matchup.
And no, before the pedantics descend on me, I don't think one can draw conclusions from 75 games. I DO think, and would bet quite a bit of money, that those 75 games will turn out to be an accurate representation of the millions of games to come over the next week or so, which will bear out my conclusion.
Hunter is an overwhelmingly large amount of what is being played right now. Mage is nearly nonexistent, and I haven't lost a game with warrior against it yet.
I thought Quest Druid would step up, but it doesn't appear to have a good match against hunter, so that won't be happening anytime soon.

I feel you got some pain in the ass lol :P
So who is at least considering running hack the system instead of boom now. Nobody? Well I guess the nerf wasn't big enough.

Lmao maybe in standard, the shitty format, not in wild at least
Skidaddle skidoodle your Milhouse manastorm is now a noodle

RIP Sense !
Mage? Maybe, but if everything else fails you still can do something with cheap spells and cyclone, a least a Tier 3 deck mage will have.
Warrior? Really? 9 manas boom only will decrease a 95% winrate vs aggro to 75% winrate, not a big deal.
warrior is dead OMEGALUL

I hope no mr hero cards coming anytime soon
Warrior doesn't even need boom to smush aggro. They have the most broken 1 drop in the game and insane board clears and removal.
just logged in...
just saw the "nerfs" ...
That's it? that's all that happens?? Ecks Dee Blizzard, nice joke.
