It's still a shame how Basic and/or Classic cards have to get nerfed or HoF'd because they fail to predict the impact of some of the new cards. Most notably, High Priest Amet.
I would rather have boring cards like DS/IF nerfed or HoFed than interesting ones like High Priest Amet.

I would rather have proper QA testing done on these instances. We saw the same thing happening with Shudderwock, where unnerfed Saronite Chain Gang would cause the most braindead matches ever. Granted, SCG is not Basic or Classic, but it still validates the point that there seems to be very little testing before actually launching these expansions. SN1P-SN4P was another good example, for which Reckless Experimenter had to catch the bullet.
These interactions aren't even that far-fetched, and if the community can come up with them before the cards even drop, then one would hope the creators of the game could be able to do the same.

Warrior is getting nerfed for sure, but I believe it will be to brawl and omega devastator rather than boom. Combo priest will see cleric bumped to 2 mana and extra arms to 3 mana and they might also touch divine spirit to 3 or 4 mana.
Let's face it, the Divine spirit based cvombos have always been in the game, and always been dumb. It just doesn't fit right thematicaly with what you'd expect from a priest. Blizzard want to give more options to preist to increase the health of their mniinos so they can take advantage of healing, but they don't wan to enable dumb OTKs. I'ts time for Divine Spirit to go I think.
I think changing Divine Spirit to be a flat health increase instead of the insane "double" would still leave Inner Fire priest as viable. Flat words like "double" are dangerous in a game with new cards constantly rotating in and out.

Dude i hope youre right but the recent nerfes ive seen imo miss the targets. Im a big fan of priest and i can look at anduin objectively, but dunno why a priest archetype is a big problem because it did above 50% winrate. Why anybody gets angry(as we read the nerf/hof factor 2) when losing against a ds if. Who cares i mean its well deserved gg move on. Pls nerf for example kill command cause it can kill me or fireball. Nonsense! Let priest just heal spam or what? No damage nno big minion then what? Let us know what is the f... NG priest identity which wont get nerfed cause its not bad.
Getting OTKd on tunr 5 because the priest got lucky draws and stuck a minions is so damn annoying. But it's not as annoying as Dr Boom RNGing endless fucking removal. There's nothing worse than spending 20 minutes beating a control warrior knowing he should have been dead at the 10 minute mark but he kept trying to RNG a win
With the current state of priest- if they HoF Divine Spirit or Inner Fire, what deck alternatives are there in standard? Control isn't a thing this time around, tempo is weakened if not crushed if extra arms nerf goes through which leaves... Resurrect decks? There are already a ton of anti-Rez threads. People have been calling for a nerf there too.
In wild there is still OTK variants or Big priest which both hovering around the nerf range too.
Arguing thematics as a reason for nerfs, that is fine if there were actual class identities. Classic and Basic cards should not be HoF'd or Nerfed due to an expansions release, I agree there. But the only way to change that is to create a very specific set of class identities so that the interaction of Classic/Basic cards with new cards is better seen to test. Better alpha/beta testing of sets before release would fix a lot of problems too.
Classic/Basic cards should only be HoF'd or Nerfed if they are tested abundantly and have shown to be the reason there is a broken or unparalleled function that oppresses the game. Because the community thinks a card is "not fun" or "been around too long" is not a reason to nerf or HoF - those reasons are money grabs waiting to happen.

They are nerfing extra arms back to two mana.

The problem is how easy they're finding the combo, Northshire cleric should be the target of nerfs/hof.
