The best players know what is likely to be in their opponents deck and play around the liklihood it's in their hand. It's a tad difficult to play around any possible card in the game once you start to tot up all the possible ways of generating new cards.
It is a common misconception that playing around your opponent's deck is the most important skill in Hearthstone. It is definitely up there, but equally important is the ability to plan for and react to the unexpected.
You should never feel like it's completely safe to go all in. You should never feel certain that your opponent doesn't have a heal or a taunt or a silence or some other answer. If you are addicted to certainty, Hearthstone is not -- and never was -- the game for you.
Yes, the best players play around obvious inclusions in obvious decks. And the counterplay to that strategy is to play an unpredictable deck. This is a perfectly valid design direction. It's a shame if you can't accept that, but you should not expect it to change.
The real problem is mana cheating. They keep making these cards, and people keep hating them, but they still make them. THAT is the focus of the original post, and I completely agree it's something Team 5 needs to change.
Is there any honest reason to suppose that there won't be a balance patch before the end of the month? Given the response from the balance team after the two most recent expansions, it seems likely that we'll have something announced this week. If so, complaints regarding the "direction" of HS simply seem pointless, since we know that many of the OP's complaints will soon be addressed.
In any event, there are currently twenty decks with win-rates above 50% on HSReplays - I suspect the only folks who can honestly complain about the "direction" of the game are all the precogs who know which of those twenty decks will actually survive ladder attrition over the next few weeks . . .

Precisely. I wouldn't be surprised if 48/48 players bring Mage. And most will bring Warrior as well. That should end any doubts about the Meta being able to correct itself without a patch.

Oh is that what you suspect?
It is highly likely. Grandmasters is conquest format so there's a very real chance that 100% of players take a Mage deck and I wouldn't expect less than 60% to also be fielding Warrior, since it is far stronger in conquest than it is in specialist. If this is the case you'll probably see Hunter as the most banned class and Priest will farm everything. In any case, if Masters Tour Seoul is anything to go by, there's going to be a LOT of Mage and a LOT of hard mull for Pocket Galaxy - make of that what you will.
that's true and they've reached a point where more and more people are jumping off the "next expansion will bring ultimate fun back" bandwagon.
everyone i know has quit the game more or less during the past 6 months.
also Uldum had the worst "release" on twitch viewercountwise. thats at least an indicator of the current state of the game, its has become stale and uninteresting overall. no need to state all the points again, but now its become a sinking ship (even tournament moderators are stating how they're bored by the game LUL)

Weird, I've gotten nearly the opposite impression. Most streamers I've seen recently talk about how much fun they are having with the new cards, and the only thing marring that experience is a couple of hangover cards from last year.
I think once Blizz deals with those cards (and we all know which ones those are), even the people crying "stale and boring" won't have much to complain about.

There's a lot going on here but one thing I absolutely do agree on is how bad these powerful high roll cards are for the game - cards which almost single-handedly net you a win if drawn at the right time. There's not much fun to be had playing as or against a deck which hinges on drawing one card to do anything.
Keleseth was particularly bad for this, often fully deciding the game on turn 2 (or even 1 with the coin) and a shadowstep.
Kelth even drawn and is not always a win couple bad and rogue is ded because no minion draw. Pocket is give ur giant 1 mana cost and basically lose the game. My rogue I play I put the shadow in for giant and make sure I have enough dmg on board so he plays the giant and does nothing I can grab 3 and then kill it b4 he goes nuts conjure calling.
It's all the cheap wins and the Mage deck is one of them. MechThun is another. All the decks, of which there are many, that are there just to collect the right cards and then OTK or overwhelm in a turn. Doesn't matter if you had board control. Doesn't matter how well you played. Doesn't matter if they have one health left and you have 30. If they have the cards in hand or in the case of mechathun no cards in hand they win and it's a cheap win and eliminates any need for skill.
I love Old Gods, but up until that expansion the game was not crazy. Once they introduced Nzoth, Cthun, and Yogg, the game got really crazy and a single turn could fill the entire board or completely swing the game.
After that, it was a slippery slope. Fast forward to now and the cards we see played in standard are absolutely absurd compared to the past. When I play in wild format now, I know immediately against some matchups that I will lose. Big Priest and the Warlock Hero can just have full boards with a single click and repeatedly do it. Standard is like this as well...look at Big Mage. Puzzle Box is has an absolutely crazy swing. Before someone says "Oh it doesn't always go in your favor", I want to say that is not a reasonable argument anymore. The box will almost always clear the board and generate you some cards.
If you look it how the game was for the first few expansions, it wasn't like this. Yeah, there was RNG and swing cards, but not to the degree it is now. It makes it hard for me to want to try competitive decks, fun decks, or new cards when you know youll be facing up against the same bullshit you have no chance of winning against.

So much Blizzard negativity and hating on Hearthstone.. yet you are all here and playing.

The game is pretty extreme now.
