I used to play HS everyday but it eventually started feeling as a chore when I tried saving gold between expansions because of quest sometimes taking so long to complete. However I'm kinda feeling it again. Has the game improved? I stopped playing before the Witch expansion (forgot its name) and I wanna know if the game has improved and if I'm way back in terms of cards in the meta.
Nothing different, still grind like mad as f2p to keep up with most cards.
Meta is not settled as the expansion is 2 weeks old and until you get enough resources for several decks the new expansion is up and you go on the grind fest again.
they atleast made the quests easier to complete and added more events(like the last rise of mechs events where they buffed(!) some cards and gave everyone a new legendary for free

As a matter of fact they made the game much more expensive by creating many must have legendaries for most of the decks. They also made adventures cost gold or real money and gave much less reward for f2p friendly promos like the fire festivals. The frost festival of the past seems to have disappeared as well.
Well if im correct u left at kobolds and catacombs expansion. Well, i play hs since the beginning but practocally from kotf expansion im the real player. Well i think hs changed a lot and i mean its the positive way. Many many decks, archetypes where can find enjoy. So I think its a good time to join us. Many will stay that same shittie stuff and blizzard just earn more money, but if u enjoyed the game then, ull enjoy more now if u open mindedand not get Salt easy, cause as above mentioned, some stuff can be demotivational.

At the end of KnC, we'd had an unending diet of the Death Knights and their ridiculously powerful impact on the game. Obviously, if you've watched the forums you know that Dr. Boom is the premier hero card right now, and you WILL see it quite a bit, but its power is not remotely comparable to the popular DKs.
So, compared to when you left, we have a far larger assortment of decks and classes that can compete at high win rates or in tournaments. We have several interesting new quests. We have the Highlander mechanic back, including one of the more interesting cards ever to be printed (Zephyrs the Great).
It's not a bad time to be a player, but I would caution you against excessive crafting. Since control warrior has been on or near the top for a while and no one seems to like the new mage decks, we are probably headed for another round of populist nerfs. Just be careful not to spend too much.

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
The game has definitely improved IMO, I think you'll like how fast you can complete your quests now (and no more 40g quests, yay!). And there's tons of fun solo player content, too. I often play the solo content if I want to make some whacky moments happen, there's lots of crazy combos that can only happen there (plus, your collection doesn't matter!). I also think tavern brawls are more fun and creative than they were a couple of years ago.
IMO the game is much more balanced now, and team 5 has gotten better at nerfing between expansions. And buffs! We have buffs now! I especially think this current year has been great, not a lot of 'down time' where the game feels stale due to nerfs, buffs and solo player content in between expansions. I know there's lots of people who disagree and complain about everything from the pricing structure to the lack of tournament mode, but I personally think the game is the most fun it has ever been, at least since I started playing in 2016 (between Old Gods and Karazhan).
Thanks for the replies guys. I have 3K gold saved preparing for Witchwood before leaving, should I buy the new expansion cards or the goblins one? I know it depends on what deck you wanna play but I kinda play all classes so which set has the more useful cards?
I'd say worry about getting cards from previous expansions, notably Boomsday and Rise of Shadows since they are the most recent and have alot of craftable Legendaries that see alot of play currently. Uldum Meta still settling and we are getting free packs and better rewards from solo content and quests so you can get those on the side while you you collect key cards from previous expansions.
Edit: Make sure you get yourself this fantastic card. Zilliax from Boomsday as it is very versatile. Great for mech decks, Rogue, and control decks.
I left the game after Kobolds and came back last month compared to where I left there is a little bit of improvement regarding to meta there is much more decks that you can play to climb ladder.
Tho ranked format is still same shit.
Beside this there is not much of a change of course there is also bunch of new adventures you can play adventures were the reason why I started to play again.
Regarding arena it was better before arena rotation right now it is not that good they will balance it tho after that it will be okay I think
There is no tournament mode yet but I think heartstone is not good enough to support tournament mode.
I bought this game when it came out and played it for a few weeks. Poor impulse control meant I blew some cash on decks. I'm now spending a lot of time travelling for work and would like to get back into the game but learn to play it this time.
I've now real idea where to start, I dont have most of the cards the current deck lists have and don't know enough yet to make my own.
Just RNG gambling bullshit. Cards get generated out of nowhere. You have to play against shaman cards when facing rogues. Warriors never run out of removals. If you like shiny animations and the game of solitaire then do come back. If not, stay away from this game.
Game is quite fun right now. A couple of decks are slightly over tuned but we are expecting a balance patch soon, which is likely to impact slow Mage decks and Control Warrior (and potentially a couple of decks that may get out of hand as a result, Murloc Paladin perhaps). Generally speaking however, there are a lot of viable decks (vS puts 7 decks in the tier 1 bracket across all levels of play, as well as a further 4 decks in tier 2, so 11 decks well before you are even close to dropping out of the realms of competitive viability). Ladder is a pretty varied experience as a result, I queued into about 12 different deck types across all 9 classes going from 4-legend last week, which is very diverse for that rank bracket.

Ah well, I'll still try and see if it hooks me back. Kinda funny they are still using Crossroads as a filler brawl.

dont bother its worse than ever :P try again in a year.

don't come back it's abad idea
Don't. Stay away from this terrible game. If you want to waste your money and be miserable, start smoking crack or something.

Just dont back, meta is awful, Bliizard prints OP bullshit cards, and as always, dont react on meta.

As you might have guessed from the salty posts, the game is not super fun for a free player who wants to be competitive.
If you are willing to spend some money to get your collection up to speed, it's pretty great right now and will be even better after a balance patch.
If you are a free player who doesn't mind sticking to casual, it's probably about as fun as it ever was.
The single-player content has steadily improved over time, if you're into that sort of thing.

No new quest for the daily for reborn minion. If you ladder u might as well pick between big mage or C w . Or you will regret coming back
