I play Highlander / Big Spell mage, and out of 4 CW I lost to one only (mostly because of my bad opening hand and subsequent card draws). If you manage to play Luna’s Pocket Galaxy by Turn 5, the game gets funny as you see your oponnent using up all of their removals. And then - a cherry on a cake - Phaoris comes.
Firebat made a YouTube video that breaks down control warrior matchups. Three decks have 60%+ win rates vs control warrior, and they most often beat it after turn 7 (with and without Boom).
It's an excellent explanation that goes turn-by-turn and shows what is powerful (a lot) and weak (not much) in warrior at the moment.
Biggest takeaways: - Boom is very strong, but not broken or unbeatable (still could use a minor nerf imo but not before other cards in mage). - Once combo finds a way to beat aggro, control warrior will have to adjust to combat combo which opens up opportunity for aggro, lowering warrior's overall power level. Aggro will regulate combo as long as it doesn't get too good.

Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.
As I said in another of the other 100 "nerf" warrior threads: It's not that CW is OP. It is not. It actually is a VERY beatable deck. The big problem (and in my opinion worse than being OP) is that IT's NOT FUN, AT ALL, to play against CW.
Yeah, sure, I can "easily" beat them with quest paladin, control shaman, highlander mage, mechathun decks, etc, etc... that's actually not the point. The point is that even when you beat them, the games are EXTREMELY BORING AND FRUSTRATING (and it's even worse if you happen to lose after a 40 minutes game). It's just not healthy for the game. God knows that after playing against a CW I have to log off for several hours (sometimes even for the day) because of how miserable I was during that last match, no matter if I won or lost.
This, to me, is even worst than if the deck was OP. It's not. It's just soul-crushingly boring and frustrating to play against.
How about removing the mech tag from Omega Devastator? No more generating it. No more magnetize synergy. No more rush from Dr. Boom.
It just should have never been printed. Makes no damn sense. In a survey I did which had i think 500 votes...that card was 2nd or 3rd. Dr Boom himself i think took 1st. The actually new Boom minion and Archivist were high up there as well.
Agreed about Omega Devastator. It's a FOUR mana do FOURTEEN damage to a minion after turn 10 with Dr. Boom up. Two conditions that are just standard for Warrior to complete.
It shouldn't have been printed but how in the hell did they finalize it at four mana? The number of cards that get costed too high and this stupid thing is cheap as hell. It makes no sense.
If you're crying about warrior being OP i automatically assume you play on mobile and no cards in your deck are over six mana.
Congratulations someone didn't die to your endless spam of lackey shit, boo hoo, go on to the next matchup.
During RoS I was playing a Wall Priest deck against CW. It has lots of cards over six mana. I got Vargoth on curve. Got a Grizzly and a Stegadon into my Rez pool. Played Mass Ressurection x2, both times summoning six minions. Played Catrina + Seance, x2.
I lost.
CW killed everything the turn it was played.
The issue with CW is that isn't because it destroys Aggro. It's supposed to do that. The issue is that no slow strategy, other than the busted Mage decks, is effective against it.
But we clearly need Control Warrior to continue to be OP. Morons play Hearthstone too, and Control Warrior is perfect for them.

Imagine being a warrior player and unironically acting like an elitist about it.
I'm not even a warrior player, you can quite clearly see that on my page where my decks are, but i guess slamming people by being uninformed is the Hearthpwn standard.

Those who are given more in life, must not cling to it, but risk it all at every moment!
Control warrior might be good but people will find ways to beat it soon enough
People already are countering control warrior. At least when I am playing early in the morning where I'm at (6 am EST)...I find the group of players at that time already moved on to whatever is going to be hot after the nerfs.
Just to name a few decks that have beaten my control warrior within the past morning (I mean, it's afternoon right now but earlier today this is what I faced):
Tess Rogue, Zuzu Hunter, Murloc Paladin

Any particular reason why I would ever be inclined to look at your decks? I didn't think so.

Tess Rogue is garbage. And I can't think of another deck that is more capable of fending off Murloc Paladin than CW. Seriously, your whole deck is removal, you have like 7 AOE's. It's not exactly Rocket Science.

Tess rogue isn't garbage when piloted by players who know how to set her up. I think you're dismissing it really quick. I wouldn't say it's Top tier, but I also wouldn't say it's garbage. Murloc paladin can spiral out of control pretty quickly if I don't have my warpaths or brawl early on.
Edit: Looking at VS reports, indicates Control Warrior is slightly favourable over Tess rogue and muloc paladin, so maybe I just had bad luck with my mulligan. I was on a win streak last night, and those two decks ended it for me, so maybe my bias is getting in the way of the data.
Having said that, the second deck I mentioned, Zul'jin hunter, does dominate against control warrior and I have been seeing that the most!
Quest paladin, I haven't been seeing a lot of surprisingly... I may switch back to my quest paladin today.

Just for laughs, tell me how Tess Rogue deals with Murloc Paladin. Because "the game can spiral out of control pretty quickly if Rogue doesn't have it's AOE's", and Rogue doesn't have ANY AOE's.

I think certain is fine. Tons of decks beat it.
The meta will adapt, no need to nerf. I'd be playing quest pally or shaman myself if I could afford the cards.

As soon as you switch to Quest Pally you will stop facing control warrior and instantly see only mage and combo priest ;)
