For those who gripe that warrior is the only control game in town: I wholeheartedly agree!
Shaman and mage rely so heavily on RNG tools for control, and warrior at it's base is best geared for consistent control of the game. Priest could be incredible, but every time priest gets tools for control, they somehow end up as completely toxic decks and non-interactive OTK's instead (wild still has a big priest problem, and Frozen Throne had machine gun Anduin, wall priest was an atrocity, etc.).
Blizzard needs to figure out how to let other classes play control without making a joke of it or breaking the meta.
You complain about RNG, yet you defend Dr. Boom and his wacky hero power?
Whatever, dude.
Anyone who actually understands Hearthstone knows that I fart in my wine glass and savor the smell before every match.
I kinda agree to OP. Boom isnt realy a Problem, if you nerf kill Warrior next Deck will get Out of Hand and were in nerf cycle. Imo Meta is pretty healthy atm. Every class is playable in tiers 1-2. We have one of the best ballanced metas of all time. Warriors might be top, but there are worse things possible.
You have to be either a shameless fanboy of the Warrior class, or a complete idiot, to not recognize the effect of Dr Boom on the game.
The Warrior class in general is not in a place where the HS community considers it "balanced".
So OP, which are you? Fanboy or...?
Thanks for the false dichotomy! But if you need an answer: me go face.
I love hunter and I farm warriors, especially the ones that like to play Boom and emote frequently until I win again and again. So that's where I'm at!
The HS community hates control decks for the most part, so it's natural that they'd target a strong card in warrior. It's a slow match, a boring thing to cast or stream, and feels bad when it stops you from doing what your deck wants to do. Add in salty pros that weep about how Boom is broken in specialist (not that the format was a dumpster fire from the start), and everyone who follows them treats their word as gospel instead of recognizing the tournament scene and the ranked scene as different metas.
If the HS community hates Control that much, can you tell me why out of all decks CONTROL FATIGUE WARRIOR from the year of the kraken was beloved and only generates good memories? I really dont get how you are not seeing the stupid strenghts of Dr.Boom today....also you say that you are farming Warrior with this and that. OF COURSE YOU DO, and nobody is claiming that the Deck has something like an 80% Winrate, thats not how Hearthstone works, but in its current state it is not only too strong, it is also an old deck which is super unfun to play against. I dont want Control Warrior to be nerfed into Oblivion, I want it to be around and counter aggro, as Control decks should, but I want to see the current state of the deck change.
I would never say Dr. Boom is perfectly fine, but he is not as toxic to the game as mage, or even Hagatha, or Zul'jin
So much wrong packed into one sentence:
1. Your estimation of Hagatha is shockingly overblown. Her value is limited to the number of minions remaining in your deck, and random Shaman spells are usually much, much worse than discovered Mechs.
2. Zul'jin does not create the grindy, unfun endgame that is the whole reason people hate Dr. Boom. Zul'jin is an undeniably strong card, but at least it ends the game quickly, without infinite value.
3. "I agree that this card I'm using probably needs to go, but only if they nerf these decks I hate" is not a healthy way to approach balance. If something is bad for the game, it needs to go, period. Feel free to have separate discussions about other cards you feel are problematic.

The only good thing I can say about Control Warr is that it beckons backs to the old days of playing NES/SNES rpg games. It's like facing a really out of control boss who squashes everything you throw at it if you didn't grind enough.
That being said there isn't any grinding except for wise tech choices for us whales. Trust me I do know what I am talking about as a Control Shaman main in RoS. I was forced to go -1 card including Elysiana soley to deal with warrs. Naturally I valued it with Shudde4 every chance I could.
I think that Warrior definetily desrves a nerf. Drawing 3 cards for one mana is the biggest culprit ( I so wish Dessert Obelisk was a mech ). Dr. Boom could be turned to mech you play rush vs. every damn one that occurs and still be out of control. Also Devastator can be 5 and still be run.
CW is an all around depressing and time consumimg deck to play around.

Same reason they played odd warrior and midrange hunter and undertaker hunter and quest rogue and on and on and on: players would rather win while they wait for a fix than make some sort of point to no one in particular and not play the deck they hate if it offers power.

It's no so broken, but playing versus Control Warrior is so annoying, time consuming and boring in one. I could win with him easily with Highlander Hunter Deck and Quest Paladin has about 79% winratio against these decks. I would like to see the face of Control Warrior player face who lost after 20 minutes of game with my Highladner Hunter, it was more of his waste of time than my :D So it's not so broken, but it's just boring and annoying.
I would never say Dr. Boom is perfectly fine, but he is not as toxic to the game as mage, or even Hagatha, or Zul'jin

1.) Yes, I know, and her effect can generate an unfun and unfair amount of power with the right spells, a great deal of rng which can't be played around because you can't guess a completely random card, even in a limited pool.
2.) Zul'jin doesn't create as much of a grindy game. Going to turn 30 with hunter isn't super hard if you play it right.
3.) Let me clarify since you misunderstood: I agree the card is powerful and needs some changes, but it falls behind a line of far more broken cards. I don't hate any current decks, per say, I hate some mechanics that feel extremely bad to face, which is a big part of Boom's draw for everyone's hatred. I wouldn't have a thing to say against a nerf to Boom, but to compare him to more popular cards that are in more popular decks with higher win rates certainly places him lower on the list of "cards the community wants a nerf to" if we value the data we so frequently quote. This sentiment I have has nothing to do with "Boo hoo I hate a deck," and if it were then yeah I'd agree that I have an unhealthy approach to balance in Hearthstone.

Those who are given more in life, must not cling to it, but risk it all at every moment!
I played a share of games with Control Warrior, before I got sick of it. My winrate is almost 85%. The deck is too strong. You lose only if you mess up and don't draw 1-drops / Dr. Boom. If you do draw those, you win even the worst matchups.
I would like them not to obliterate Dr. Boom, because of poor Wild Odd Warrior, but something must be done with the current archetype which is really depressing to play against for many players. Just tune it down. My fear is, Brawl, a classic card will be punished for the sins of Dr. Boom.
You can at least rush down Highroll Mages, but now with new tools given to them, I think they should move LPG to 6 mana. Or even buff Grave Horror to 11 mana.
Changes are needed for new decks to emerge. Mages and Warriors are way to overtuned in comparison to others. And are so boring by now. Rogue was nerfed, but not Warrior, that was a major mistake. Tuning down Warrior will not make aggro rampant. The thing is, Warriors have so much more tools than they need. Aggro isn't even near to beating Warriors. Figuratively, you need 70-100 dmg to kill Warrior, but most decks can unleash 60-70 at the best, before exhaustion. And often they end hitting not for more than 20 damage. The most common way of winning is waiting for them to lose.
Kibler suggested a great nerf that I'm all for: removing the armor option from Boom's hero power rotation. Right now Boom doesn't technically sacrifice anything for the ongoing rush and 5 hero powers, because one of them is just a way better version of the base power. Removing Blast Shield would go a long way in altering the perception of Boom's power level and give everyone what they want.
i think it's an excellent way to go and I hope Blizzard takes it. It's the first actual suggestion for a nerf to Boom that I've heard in a while, and it brings in a fair trade for the new hero powers and rush effect: no more big armor boosts, just the 7 and whatever you can get from mechs.
Also, he addresses the boredom factor, which Boom has in spades because there's sometimes no fear of a long game when you have a decent chance of adding 7 health to your total every few turns. No armor option makes matches feel more winnable.

Warrior is incredibly broken. In less than one month it's getting nerfed, hopefully to the ground.
Boom is broken, of course. But it's not just Boom. Warrior is stacked with broken cards.
Have you noticed that Control Warrior has the best two one drops in the game? Kind of ironic, isn't it? Most control decks don't have the luxury of running one drops.
Warpath, Brawl, and Dye-o-matic are good AOE's. And if that wasn't enough, they got another one.
Supercollider can kill two giants with one swing.
Shied Slam is an extremely efficient single target removal. And if it can be activated with no armor by Shield Block, and Boom.
Militia Commander was broken. Apparently Restless Mummy is even more broken.
There are two good mechs, Ziliax and Sn1p-Sn4p that go into a variety of decks. But they get far more value in Warrior than other classes.
One mana, draw three. What needs to be said?
As if all that wasn't enough, throw in a taunt package including a better Stonehill Defender.
But wait. I'm not done yet. I'm Saving the Best for Last. A four mana card that kills, among other things, Ysera, and leaves a body around.
No other class has access to this set of tools. That is why Control Warrior is the ONLY control deck in the game. We don't see Control Priest/Shaman/Warlock/Paladin. Their toolset is terribly flawed to begin with, and they can't beat Boom in the long run.
Like I said, it's incredibly broken.
I could not agree more with you dude. It's sickening how warriors always pulls omega devastator, ziliax or ethernium rover from random mech generation. Also they added tomb warden now, which is a mech and goes well with armagedillo and boom. I think control warrior is fine, but rn it has way too many value and removal. The reason we dont see many other control decks rn is because they struggle against ultimate value of warrior.
Play Deathrattle Rogue/Hunter or resurrect Priest. Specific Deathrattles are designed to overcome boardclears/removals and can really create loads of value in some combos (e.g. Venomizer+Missile Launcher). You're slow but you have value and played smart even the best Control Warrior will run out of options. Heck, shuffle in a Da Undatakah combined with 2x Mechanical Whelps for even more value. Problem solved. (oh and don't over magnetize or they will often times 2for1 a magnetized Mech with Omega Devastator, give them the least amount of room for value)
I usually play control, and Warrior is just too ridiculous right now. All they did was help it his expansion. I stopped playing it just because I was sick of 25-35minutes games. Mechs with rush just basically means "Kill the other person's stuff until they're out of cards. Then Elysiana and win with your hero power." When you're able to get 6mechs from Omega Assembly, plus discover a mech, you're usually going to win. It's an effective deck, but it's so damn boring. I think a full on nerf to Dr. Boom, Mad Genius is absolutely necessary. Maybe make it so it says "Your mechs in your deck have rush for the rest of the game" and get rid of the 7 armor hero power.
As a Control Warrior myself I agree on Control Warrior being too strong.
I also agree with Brian Kibler that the biggest problems are the Rush Mechanic (with Warrior already having so much removal) and Blast Shield. The amount of games (against Zoo mostly) i crawled back just because of Blast Shield is just silly. The only decks Control Warrior seems to struggle against is Quest Paladin and in a lesser degree Big (Spell) Mage.
Als this being said tho. If Control Warrior and / or Big (Spell) Mage gets nerfed some other deck and / or card will probably get too strong / oppressive and people will start complaing about that. It will allways stay like this. Game will never be 100% balanced. This does not take away that Control Warrior AND Big (Spell) Mage need a nerf.
PS Concerning Contronl Warrior (Dr. Boom) nerfs. I would go with Brian Kiblers nerfs i guess or close to it. Battlecry: Give your mechs in your hand and deck rush and remove or nerf Blast Shield or replace it so you can give a mech the Vicious Scraphound effect. If you remove the Blast Shield maybe make the Hero Power a choose effect?
Watch Brian Kilblers video and then you understand why it is such a strong Hero Power.
It makes it so there is no downside playing Boom becasue (in general) you dont lose your regular Hero Power. One Blast Shield makes up for 3,5x your regular Hero Power!
Also your comment does not make any sense. Other classes don't have Blast Shield...

Fixed. Smug much?
Last time I checked, a deck with 60% winrate usually gets nerfed. I love control style but CW is only removal, so boring.
Control warrior probably wouldn’t be very good without Dr.Boom, beating them is not so difficult when he isn’t played.
Dr.Boom, like Pocket Galaxy are highroll I win cards similar to the likes of Keleserh on 2.

Remove Malygos, Alextraza, Antonidas, Wasp, Hunter hero power, Fireballs, Bloodlust, Savage Roar, all charge minions and all weapons in the game....
