I made a thread very similar to this with the release of Knights of the Frozen Throne, but with about twice as many sets now, not including Classic, and most likely many new users, I figured why not make a new one? In the time of my first thread, GvG was by far my absolute favorite. However, it is now only a close second to the only other expansion I mentioned in this post. I just think the flavor was spot on and the cards were nice and strong for KotFT. If you have time, make sure to explain why and what your favorite expansion is! If not, feel free to just leave a vote in the poll. I predict the top three will be Knights of the Frozen Throne, Rise of Shadows, and Kobolds and Catacombs. We shall see!
Frozen Throne was epic. It introduced new play styles, new decks, multiple ways to play for each class. And of course, the death knights (and EVERY hero got one, not just 2 or 3 like they have now).
I’m hoping for a reboot in the next expansion, seeing as this year is all about reinventing past mechanics. :)
As a rogue player Kobolds gave me everything I ever wanted. I doubt any singular expansion could ever top that. Overall though I give it to Rise of Shadows, simply for the number of actual playable cards is higher across all rarities.

If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
Definitely old gods. It had everything, obscenely flashy legendaries, a ton of playable decks, and most importantly, everyone got C'thun, a completely viable archetype at the time. And thus all budget players could rejoice.
It also just featured a fairly healthy meta. Nothing was too weak, but not insane either. I miss those days
Whispers of the Old Gods because everyone got C'Thun and the support fot it was cheap (as far as I remeber). The meta was good, every class playable and it also introduced the rotation expansion system.
The other expansion were also good (KotFT, K&C, Un'goro, RoS, SoU,...) but this stands out to me more than every other.
How KoFT is rated so highly ? It introduced most broken stuff ever into game - Hero cards, almost breaking entire game with infinite value . I mean, i know thematicly its probably the best expansion, but in terms of overall balance, cost and fun WoTOG is probably best.
I like the old expansions. They were not perfectly balanced of course but in most games you felt you had a chance to win.
Lately there are so many decks with blow out turns. If you don't have the right answer there is no chance to win anymore. It is just so frustrating. Even winning fells worse. It felt so good to win a close match. Now you are often crushing your enemy and it feels kind of unfair.
How in the hell is KoFT the top pick?! It completely warped the meta for the next year and a half, infinite value cards is what we complain about the most on this forum, yet the biggest offender in terms of value is exactly thát expansion.
Nah, give me Whispers of the Old Gods every single hour of every single of the week. Fun archetypes, big cards with big value only, and just FUN!

Currently playing Dragon Galakrond Priest, Dragon Galakrond Warrior and Highlander Dragon Hunter.
I like KFT when release but created an issue, a type of card can't be countered, this is bad, imagine playing MTGA but all cards vs planeswalkers don't exist and you can't attack them, this is the hero cards in HS.

My top 2 choices were the most voted. 5Head
Love is pain but I'll endure that pain if that's what it takes. 🖤
Frozen Throne was revolutionary!

Un'goro was amazing, led to the most balanced meta I've remembered. Second one I should mention is Old Gods. You gotta praise Yogg!

for me its a tie between WotOG and KotFT
if i have to choose for my favorite card ever printed i choose C'Thun everytime

Un'goro is my favourite expansion. Though Old Gods also was very good.
My least favourite is Knights of the Frozen Throne, though both 2019 year expansions are very close.
I still think GvG was the best. I never played as much as back then and Handlock was such a fun deck to play.

i love most broken expansion honestly xD ! so it will be Msog, Koft and maybe Sou
To the guy who said remembering un'goro as well balanced
You remember badly, it was either quest rogue or pirate warrior
My favorite is uldum, cause highlander rogue is the funniest deck I ever built
My favorite was the LoE, the Ungoro a close second.
