No, I am not. I am here to complain infact. I really don't understand how can you be happy. Don't you see that the game is always the same? Nothing is changing in the game, the idea are always recycled.
We still don't have the hero cards for the classes that are missing and Big Priest is still not nerfed. How can you be happy? Because you have seen cards with old machanics? I don't understand.
Tbh, I can be excited purely on the back of how awesome Zephyrs the Great is. I've been scouring the internet for any clips of this card I can find. DAMN this is a sweet design.
That and Bolster Warrior is back. Hobgoblin Bolster was a big favorite deck of mine back in the day, and it just scored a metric boatload of support. :)

Maybe big priest is still not nerfed, but we will have Plague of Murlocs which is pretty much the best anti-big priest card ever printed.
Man :), We already had decks with one copy of a card. And this is a card with an RNG depending by an IA that sucks. Try to complete a wild deck and you will see how the IA sucks.

I am not. exited at all for this card.
The power level of the card isn't what excites me. It's the prospect of playing with a card that has borderline human intelligence. Apparently there are certain things it doesn't recognize so it won't always give you the best card, but this card is meme central and is sure to bless us with countless Trolden clips.
As with every previous meta, there is always a pre-release concern about certain archetypes having supreme dominance over all others - and often the biggest concern is aggro - but usually the meta settles down pretty quickly and there is a decent spread of all sorts of decks (like how we have control warrior, conj mage, mech hunters etc which shows that there are always strong decks for all archetypes.
I am always excited for every new meta, because when a meta stales, a change of pace and something new is what we all crave.
I’ll be there with everyone else metaphorically ripping those new packs (I’m waiting until release day rather than doing a Fireside).

Man let's be realistic. I don't care about the power level.
The issue in hearthstone is to keep always the game new, because at the end the game is really boring. You are putting cards on a table, this is Hearthstone. If you don't keep the game fresh the game become boring very fast.
So, They are not keeping the game fresh because they are simply adding old mechanics and many pack filler. This is not what keep a game fresh. This is the Hearthstone's problem.
So, No preorder and I am not happy at all. I am only very disappointed. After Knight of the Frozen Throne and Kobold and Catacombs Hearthstone seems is loosing all the creativity and the game is becoming boring.

Big priest is still ruining wild and forcing control decks out. Nerf Barnes to 6 mana already!
some of these cards look really interesting, but i've barely played the last several months (really since before RoS, but the last 4 months have seen extremely light play from me - I didn't even play 5 ranked games to get the card back one month, and missed getting a Tavern Brawl pack one week, both for the first time ever. i used to consistently get rank 5 at the minimum, i've barely gone as high as 10 in recent months) so idk. i bought the 50 pack pre-order last time and didn't play. have only gotten around 2k gold in the time since i stopped buying packs (and not as many as i have for past expansions), haven't bought the Dalaran Heist. are the chances any better that i play more this time around, or is the game basically dead for me?

Looking at your 3 years on this forum you should've concluded by now that a back and forth on this issue is useless. Opinions are fixed between those fellow travelers on the bandwagon of card designers and those who argue a higher skill floor, more diversity, no classes falling from ladder, a shallow-up of RPS (no polarization). A marketing- target audience trade that has been going on 6 years now. Been arguing this with a diverse kind on this forum over the years. Won't start again.
As such and as for the ad hominem, your assertions and observations that most is fine is a direct result of fellow traveling. Able to jump off and take a step back is quintessential for analysis.
Happy travels.
My tips for your future arguments is not to rely on psuedo-philosophical fallacies devoid of real statistics, case examples, and quotations. Everything you say so far is based off whims of "bandwagoning" and spiralling decrease in quality. I have look at polarity, meta diversity, developer intervention, etc, in terms of actual stats and deeds. And my interpretation is that things have gradually improved. I'm fully cognizant of bad practices and grievances when and where they exist. This thread asked whether I'm excited and I answered in optimism, but that doesn't mean I am a fanboy. I have my fair share of wishes and complaints. I just happen to like the new set so far, and will be fully open to being corrected if it sucks.
My tips for you comprise to following.
The are enough podcasts about what philosophy actually is. As a consequence of your ignorance you shouldn't be referring to pseudo-philosophical fallacies. I guess you mean philosophical fallacies. Pseudo-fallacies don't exist. Or maybe they do in the form of misuse of your very much desired real statistics, case examples, and quotations.
Early 20th century German scholar Alfred Rosenberg produced a racial doctrine by which he 'proved' that the so called Arian white race was superior to any other race. He went on using statistics and case examples to prove his theories. He quoted his predecessors. He measured skull form, hight of the forehead and trajectory of noses (curved or straight) to determine who was the master race and who was just an untermensch (lower human). Jews had curved foreheads leaning backward and curved noses, so excluded of the master race as they have broad cheekbones, straight noses, high foreheads et cetera et cetera. He produced real statistics to prove it all. Impressive 'science' now discarded as pseudo-science.
You might understand now that real statistics, case examples and quotations have no worth in themselves, but are just a means to an end. You can 'prove' anything with real statistics and quotations. So here is your fallacy: using, hiding behind and throwing the academic method in my face - in an attempt to discredit - with the sole purpose to defend Blizzard and card designers which is obviously what you are trying to do. You have every right to engage in that activity, but that is the reason why I coin you a bandwagon fanboy.
As I am now way beyond the average interest level of the Hearthstone fanboy (oh boy) who just wanna have a thrill and don't think about why certain cards are printed, which politics are employed, why in general things are as they appear to be, let me continue to explain the word decisionism.
Decisionism is in most cases lurking behind things that appear to be fixed. This is what we have to work with. This is the nature of things. We have to work from here. These exclamations are set to be starting point for further analysis. But hey, who placed 'the nature of things' there in the first place? A question beyond the obvious. That is what I'm interested in. Why are certain cards printed. To what end? To the glory of the 'master race' called fanboy? Am I the 'Jew' here? In a certain sense your real statistics, case examples and quotations is just part of a pseudo-scientific posture.
Draws to a conclusion: card design is a choice, not a given. Card design is extremely political. Arguments can't stand against decisionism. Stating this or that is not an argument is completely beside the point. And so is analyzing developers card design decisions with real statistics, case examples and quotations. You can do that, but then you'll analyze within the boundaries that has been set for you. Then by default you'll conclude developers are doing a 'fine' job as Rosenberg concluded with real statistic, case examples and quotations the superiority of the master race. So if you settle for bandwagon real statistics, case examples and quotations, there is no agreement here. Unless you jump from the wagon, therefore start to analyze and think out of the box. You might conclude pseudo-science.
No illusion that the fanboy is even going to grasp a bit of what stated above. Ignorance is bliss.
Im only excited to play arena. I lost all interest in ranked. Everyone plays the same decks. In span of 2 hours one usually plays against max 4 different decks. And its the same every day. Starting from rank 5 games it feels like skill level of every player is basically the same. Smart decisions get outplayed by created by RNG. Its just too boring. Its a nice game for 2 years max or people who dont care about winning due to skill but just like to click on shiny cards.
Its a game for kids and teens. Mature audience dont really have too much to seach for here.
"Edgy quote about being too smart and suffering for it" - Literally who - 1890 Yes I am better than you, my signature implies it. Annoying Random colours.
Standard low to none insightful response of a tribe called fanboy (don't think, little substance, absent content, go face and call that 'joy'). Usual target audience of yet another expansion.
Says the guy who states 7 "insightful" points. "Target audience"? Yep. I play the game and enjoy it. I know...such a strange concept.
Let's try and keep the discussion on track and veer away from the flaming, please guys. :-) It's getting a little heated in here - which is ironic considering the topic of the thread is asking who is feeling excited. ;-)

Is it really that bad?

Why do we have "scared" as one of the choices?? lol
I'm so scared of an imaginary card game.
Big priest is still ruining wild and forcing control decks out. Nerf Barnes to 6 mana already!
Blizz will nerf warrior if he forces highlander out.

We make our world significant through the courage of our questions and the depth of our answers.
I got Vessina, Totemic Surge, and Sandstorm Elemental! Hell yeah I am excited!

Really excited, my Reno Spell Hunter is gonna crush the meta.
I’m going to approach deck building differently this time.
When i get a good legendary or epic that sparks an idea for a deck I am going to start a list of cards to include for that deck as I open them.
And then each time I get an idea for another deck I will start another list and so on.
Usually by the final pack, I’ve forgotten what I got in the first half or so! Lol
Nope
Thanks, I needed a good chuckle today :D
