So I guess I am still going to get replies from people calling me a "whiner" to wait until expansion is released or can we finally see that Paladin has gotten the end of the stick 3 expansions in a row? Every class has a definition but Paladin and for the love of god do not consider OTK Paladin as a supported Archetype. 1 Card is not a definition when every piece was already present. Paladins now have Archetypes in Heal, Dragons, Murlocs, Mechs, OTK, Aggro, Useless Minions, Singleton, Reborn (Wtf even is this) and Big... Like is this a fucking joke or is Blizzard losing IQ over creativity and development?
I agree in that Paladin stands out this expansion as having no real effort put in to a coherent play style or deck type, very lacking in flavour and many of its class cards seem as interesting and powerful as common neutral pack fillers.
In the past few expansions it seems to me that the successful Paladin archetypes have actually been ones that Blizzard did not put much effort into supporting. They definitely did not intend for Holy Wrath and OTK to be viable, that was all the communities work. As you say, the devs card choices for the last few expansions have been incoherent and unimaginative.
But this expansion is another level of neglect and boring design, we just have to hope we can find a way to make Reborn work.
they cant print good Paladin cards now because Baku exists and to those bambling moronic idiots that think that "no one" cares about wild, they do have to design around those cards because there are demographic for both modes,
They put zero effort into Paladin this set and it kills me because the cards arent even just bad, they also make no sense together. What the fuck are you supposed to do with these cards?
I don't mind that the paladin cards are bad, not every class can be a winner. However these cards don't even make sense together. Rise of Shadows wasn't a good set for Paladin but at least it was clear what they were trying to do. There was support for secrets and there was support for dragons and for the most part those things didn't pan out but there was lots of interesting things to try together.
Uldum has none of that for paladin, if a new paladin deck arises out of these cards it will be made by the sheer force of will, stubbornness, and creativity of the community and not because of anything Blizzard designed.
The quest is the real kicker. All the other ones will be useful beyond this expansion, and every single one will be stronger with more expansions later down the line. But you know we’re never seeing reborn again after this. What we have is all we’re gonna get in terms of options to finish the Paladin quest.
