I just got a god-draw with mercenaries 280 that illustrates how degenerate the deck actually is. Did they actually design this deck or was it generated via algorithm, because this is absolute BS?
Randomly generated. That's the point of the Brawl, to let countless randomly generated decks battle it out and see wbat happens. Personally i think it is a brilliant Brawl.
Generated. Everybody gets a randomly generated deck when they start the brawl. Sort of like how people get a random mix of genes. People get randomly matched up, and the loser gets a copy of the winner's deck, and so the deck "reproduces" while the losing deck dies.
So yes, obviously the deck is nuts, but there's a certain beauty behind how that came to be. The brawl may not be that fun to play now, but I'm happy that they made it and let the brawl run it's course because it' pretty cool to see how quickly an insane deck was reached and completely dominated. I was expecting maybe an insane control version with a lot of cheap aoe like Maelstrom Portal to appear and tame it and for a ecosystem of three rock paper scissor decks to appear, but maybe the mercenary type decks dominated so quickly and categorically that nothing could hope to spread beyond a few wins. It's like seeing mirco-evolution.
It would have been good if they reset the brawl every couple of days or so to give more variance to the outcome.
What made it most polarising is that the strongest deck just turned out to be Pirate Warrior... again. One of the most aggravating decks of all time. Shame really

As annoying to play against (and with) the deck has become, the system has worked pretty much the way it was intended to.
The strongest deck (randomly generated) won through and has become prevalent - kind of like how a virus works in an ironic way.
I think that hitting a 1/2 and 4 1/1’s on turn 1 is always going to be tough to beat.
I would have enjoyed the brawl more if there was a way too re-enter with a new random deck on demand.

The only deck which could put up a fight was the Mech Mage one aka Technology 1025, with like 3 Zilliaxes in it.
