With the release of the Hunter's Pack card reveal, one point that I saw come up was that the poster felt that drawing 3 random hunter cards outshone Arcane Intellect drawing two cards from your deck.
So there are positives and negatives on both sides of this question - deck thinning, synergy with your other cards / hand, "free" value, the difference between 2 and 3 extra cards in hand, etc.
So I wanted to see what other people thought: Which do you think is the better option and why? Is it specific to the drawing of these three card types (beast, secret & weapon) that makes it better / worse? What's the opinion on this?
Getting cards that you put in your deck is probably generally better than adding random cards although the pool of cards that pack can add is small enough that you're likely to get a pretty decent result. Deck thinning is also typically good in most Mage strategies as you have some important cards and combos to dig for.
In terms of straight up value, 3 cards generated from thin air is better than 2 from the deck, obviously, and that seems fine because AI is a basic card and such cards are generally slightly lower quality than packed cards (while still being competitively viable in many cases).
