With all the controversy surrounding Blizzard/HS right now, which Im 100% againts them, there is something I want to talk about.
With the card changes, the arts, the flavours and the texts, something wasn't mentioned... FULL DUST REFUND! Yes, you've heard me. How in God's name didn't they gave the players the dust back regardless if it was golden or not? We are talking about purchasing (if you payed for the packs and got those cards), using dust to create normal and golden versions or simply getting them as rewards! And at the end, they changed the visual entirely which completely changes the perspective of the card!
Although its not nerfs that directly hits the game itself, it still is manipulation of what you own. Its your collection, the time and/or money you used to have those cards! And they, simply take them away and change them visually without any compensation, ITS A SCAM!
Imagine you buy a pack of cards you collect. You get this sweet looking card you always wanted because it looks cool. Now, that same company you bought the pack from, takes your card away and changes the art that you used to like, so some degraded looking art? How would you feel? You would ask for a return of the money right? But they deny it. So you wasted resources for something that was never going to be yours at the first place although it was stated it would be.
Hipocrisy:
Blizzard/Hearthstone, if you are aiming for more censorship to your game to appeal a small group of angry people at the internet and you want to make it look more friendly to kids... Why not change your store price systems? And create restrictions?
If you are so worried about "today standards" about sexy pics, violence and gore, why are you not worried about "childrean" (that you are now targeting it for with this changes) using money to buy your packs and deals?
You know why? Because you didn't really made this changes because you woke up one day and thought "this is bad!". You made them because you now prefer to follow the people who don't even care or play your game. But when it comes to money, you step back and let it still be as bad as it is. Locking portraits behind 80 dollars deals, insane prices for packs, etc.
You've a new low. You are on a life support Blizzard, just saying.
blizzard isnt on life support...wtf are you even saying..you talk like a sausage.
Don't think it's going to happen, nor do I believe they even care.
Their game has deteriorated, their business model went way too far into the greedy mode (Adventure v Expansion was best, 3 Expansions with free Adventures was worse but still acceptable, now paying for everything when there is no increase in quality or quantity is nonsensical.)
But I understand your problem and I think you should act on it. I have done so, decide to stop supporting the game with money, this is the only way they will care. Posting a few posts with logical points in forums doesn't get their attention, it's only when you cut down their revenue that they listen.
I got annoyed a while ago when they decide to change Jaina's artwork, she's my favourite hero and there was no reason for a change, so I was expecting something like this to happen.
They could even have used this one:
That art is awesome! I think that a better solution tho would've been to update her art with the new BFA version if that's what they wanted, and then make her old ( UNCENSORED ) version an optional skin unlocked for free.
That way they could have their more '' marketing friendly '' version of her and not piss people off ( even tho I hate how apparently cleavage = not marketing friendly but half-naked men still are... It's sexist bullshit... ).
It's not that hard and I don't understand why they keep doing this with card games... It's the same in Shadowverse, that game has hundreds of censored cards... Just make it OPTIONAL...
Add an optional toggle for it or let players choose between the skins. No one would've complained if Jaina got new art of her BFA design but then also had her original one as an optional skin.
For a lot of people, the game starts with the attraction of the cards visuals and sounds. When i started playing, i LOVED the sound of "Savage Combatant" and other beast-cards, so i started including it in every Druid deck.
Later on i realised that the effects where not good in the meta back then , but sounds and visuals ARE important, these are the charm of Hearthstone.
If its is a childrens game lika many say it is (it is both adultes and children), thats just one more reason to say that : yes it doesnt affect gameplay, but what do children care about gameplay and how much more important are the sounds and visuals..
When they change this, gold need to be refunded or dust.
If they would do it with every card (to magnify things) then nobody would agree with that, so why would you agree with Blizzard when it comes down to a few cards?
So yes, i follow this mans opinion: i am pro dust refund
RAGE ON. Love the conspiracy theories flying around.
When a company I support and buy from does something wrong and goes against my guiding light, I stop supporting them and move on. I don't go on the internet and write angry posts about it while still supporting them. Like Chik Fil a - Once the truth came out about the founder and what he promotes in the company I bought my chicken sandwiches somewhere else. I didn't go on websites and rage about it. Saved myself looking like an ass doing so but I also have better things to do than let something so inconsequential affect me in any way and waste my time looking like a psychopath demanding free chicken sandwiches from them cause of their religious views.
Did any of you guys complaining about Succubus getting axed ever actually use her in any decks? At all?
I am like one of maybe five people who played Discardlock back when Discardlock was good. And I don't really give a shit that they got rid of succubus. I mean its not like Hearthstone is bereft of sexy ladies. Every expansion on another board I run down the cute nonhuman characters of Hearthstone on another board I frequent.
Also, are you really gonna dust Eviscerate and Deadly shot for full dust even iff offered? Really? Two Staple cards of classic set cause they changed the art (Hell in Eviscerate they barely even changed the art).
I'm sorry, but watching people losing their shit over the fact they aren't gonna have an inch high portrait of a demon lady on their fake cards in their card game any more is the saddest thing ever.
(Also, as long as we are bringing up card censorship, maybe we can do something about Spiteful Smith? Because if any card needs new artwork its that one).
Is there really somebody that regularly open his card collection and start to "appreciate" art cards? And spend money to dust cards to get the golden version of cards just because there are semi naked demons on it?
Really? You know that on this exact website you can see all the golden art right?
And also there is somebody that believes that rather than paying and support a "digital game" really believe to OWN digital cards? I mean own as his own legal property?
While i think getting dust refund for changes like art goes a bit far, there's something else i'm worried about. The release of the new classic cards mid expansion. The cards themselves are not that impactful yet, but if you want to get them, you either have to buy classic packs, or use the dust and gold you saved for next expansion to get them. It started last year with pilfer etc, a few cards. But now it's like 2 legendaries added, including a few more.
I stopped playing 3 years ago, missed 2 expansions and knowing how much I had to spend to catch up knew I couldn't return.
I wish Blizzard would adapt with the times and try and be more consumer friendly and just let you buy all the cards for one price. I know Blizzard wanna make it feel like an actual card game and like an actual pack opening, but the difference is the packs you get in stores like I used to when you was a kid had actual real world value, virtual card games do not.

But they do. You can buy cards from any expansion you want. Just recently had a great special on 5 packs from all of the expansions. Might still be running.

Doesn't change the point they were making, the cards have no actual value, redeemable or otherwise, unlike the cardboard alternatives. Mechanically that is similar but philosophically they are diametrically opposed, most importantly as a business model which is the ONLY reason ANY of this exists, and the only reason we're discussing this now.

The value is in the game that you play. Entertainment value. That is what you are paying for. That is always what you are paying for when you play a video game.
Appearance doesn’t matter as much as gameplay obviously, so there’s less of a reason to give players a refund, since it’s such a small crowd of people that are seriously offended and pissed off that they changed 10 or so cards, most of which people didn’t play in the first place.
Also it’s not Blizzard’s responsibility to add security with microtransactions, it’s the platforms. And if you’re that irresponsible to give your kid your credit card info knowing full well that they have access to video games in this day and age, you’re just as guilty as the kid who bought a shitton of cards.
You are literally on the internet right now. If you are buying packs in a card game to look at oversexualized women and semi-violent imagery, you're doing it wrong. Heck, you can, right now, go get the original pics of the unmodified (censored is the wrong word here. If you want to know what censorship really is, do some reading about it) card art.
Take a deep breath and figure out the real reason you're upset. If you fear change, I hear ya, but change happens. If you are frustrated with Hearthstone in general, it might be time to take a break. If this really is because you don't get to see the wiggling ass of the Secretkeeper in your card pool, then please see above.

I suggest finding a new hobby.
I have a question.

But don't forget to pre-puchase both Saviors of Ulduum bundles AND the future solo content!
Sorry for blizzard thinking you dont play this game to look at the boobs of a fictional characther and thinking changes are significant
So this post really is shocking me...

The only thing wrong is you've built a mental empire where the world serves you.
... he definitely could cut tie from all the lies he's been livin' in.
