But that's the reality and Blizz's logic..Of all characters, only the night elf can be druid, and for Elise is confirmed, Reno is wielding a magic gun(it seems like the gun is constructed from wands)and its also confirmed to be mages' hero, Brann is presumed to be a hunter in WoW, plus he is depicted with a gun and a pet..And Finley will take a golden fish for hammer and the left over Paladins...Either it fits or not, they have an expansion to launch and a story to tell, so the end justifies the means..
Reno isn't really a mage, Finley isn't really a PALADIN, elise isn't really a druid... It's about the item they are wearing in this expansion. That's is their temporary "class" identity.
Reno has a crystal canon -> Arcane mage stuff
Finley has a Golden fish -> gold, shiny, paladin, you know
Elise has a lunar staff -> balance druid stuff
Brann has a dinosaur and a rifle -> hunter thing.
They are just neutral explorers infused with the power of some items.
finley being the paladin was the biggest twist for me, not that its out of left field (Anyfin Can Happen was a league card). I hope he sees play

Exactly this. Seems like Elise found a Druidic artifact in Uldum and became a Druid temporarily. She isn't a Druid, just playing along.
But Druid did only have one and this one you have to buy for way more than the purchasable Hunter and warrior skins.
No you dindn´t have to pay. There is (was?) a quest. You had to win 10 games in standard to get her for free. Just like Maiev. So the most players got her for free.

but this goes against her hero flavor text which states that she's been a teacher to young druids before becoming an explorer. And Brann beeing a Hunter isn't really a far shot. only for Finley and Reno this assumption is fitting.
A: Reno's class is based around what amazing loot he has most recently found. That means for this expansion he is a mage because of his gun of magic wands. Sir Finley Mrrgglton is a paladin btw.
From blizzard QA. Reno and Finley don't have a real class but picked up some Mage/Paladin loot in Uldum, while Elise and Brann are former druid (from un'goro expansion lore) and hunter (from wow lore) that decided to become explorers then go back to their class identity to save Uldum. Everything is clear and makes sense now.
I wanted them to be neutral again though, I'll be jealous of mage now when I play Reno priest/warlock

I assume that flavor text isn't serious at all. If I'm not mistaken, one of the devs has said that they are what they are because of the ancient artifacts they found in this expansion. Or something along those lines.
I agree with you on Brann though. He's the most obvious choice but the other 3 heroes? IDK...

WoW isn't FFXIV. People don't just change classes willy-nilly. In this world, being a member of a class is a lifelong pursuit requiring a lot of dedication.
And yes, Hearthstone isn't exactly WoW, but no HS character has ever changed classes. I think they'd have to make a big deal out of it and provide a LOT of explanation if they wanted to do that.
Even Renounce Darkness doesn't change your class; it just replaces your hero power and cards.

Well, there's no indication yet that new Reno will have anything to do with 1 ofs (wouldn't that be confusing for deck names? :P). He might not be something you'd want in those decks, unless you're thinking flavor-wise
I think they want to give the 4 league of explorer heroes to Druid, paladin, Mage and hunter. (to balance the league of E.V.I.L.). a guess is it will also be a minion, not just a hero portrait. Pali will get Finley, Reno for mage and Hunter Bran? Don't know what hunter has to do with Bran but its just a theory.

In my mind legendaries have good reason to be played in 1 of decks, because they are 1 of to begin with.
So Reno 2.0 just has to be a good card and he will probably be a candidate for old Reno decks.
In my experience in Wild format, Reno decks allow you very easily to play whatever card you want and range the deck from aggressive midrange to heavy fatigue and this is why they are so much fun, you can really make your own unique never seen before deck and actually win with it.
The normal "2 of" decks are very narrow in what they do and what cards work best with the overall deck's strategy. Like big priest for example, you can swap lich king and ragnaros for some other cards but that's about all you can do to have some fun while keeping the deck functional. My Reno deck I can swap 25 cards and keep the original "out value your opponent" plan, I can do it 18 times and fill the deck collection with functional Reno decks. No other deck let me do that in 5 years. Reno Jackson is the best card in the game :D

Lol thanks. I find it quite amusing that people are surprised that Elise is a Druid, her being nightelf is big enough indication she will be Druid.
I mean, Lazule is more of a warlock but we have her as priest, no biggie
Shadow Priest maybe...

I never thaught of what the leage of explorers may could be.
I don´t know them from WoW. I just was a little disapointet, cause druid also have some hero skins.
I was hoping for a class just have one Hero up till now (except the ones you have to buy), like Warrior, Hunter,...

We're all missing the fact that Finley is a knight (SIR Finley Mrrrrrglton) so it makes sense that he'd be a paladin :D
Can we all just pause for a moment and take that in.
He has a gun... that fires Magic Wands....
That's a good take, we don't see enough of the moonkin theme in HS druid, even if we have spells.
