I am a Rock rank autochess player and a legend rank HS player. I love both game and play each game when i want to. They are different games so I dont think they compete against each other. There are 3 autochess game out atm and all of them try to pay popular streamers money to play their games. Thats why they leaving thats their job
Streamers leaving hs doesnt make hs die. Players leaving hs does. If Streamers leave to autochess games and People Still plays hs and demands content from It, new streamers will appear. Is players and viewers Who create famous streamers, not games neither the streamers themselves.
I think the type of game is vastly different and so the two games are unlikely to tread on each others' feet, as it were. As a comparison, the same was considered for when both Artifact (as you mentioned) and more importantly, MtG:Arena came out. I think MtG was always going to provide more of a direct challenge to Hearthstone.
But as we have seen, both games are able to exist and remain strong independently of each other; even though they both require investment of real world money to one degree or another - but they can still be perfectly playable in an F2P context.
To answer your question more directly, I do believe (and have already seen) some streamers move away from Hearthstone to other games. For example, Savjz now seems to do mostly videos for MtG. Day9 is also MtG and even Kibler does the occasional cross-video with Sean for MtG. (Though Kibler seems to straddle both camps, which I'm happy about, because I really enjoy his vids and both games)
In terms of the games themselves, I think Hearthstone has a strong base and a core set of dedicated players who have invested a lot in the game and this sort of investment strongly aids retention because you don't want to feel like your money / time / investment will go to waste if you leave. Perhaps there's something in that in regards to addicitivity, but that's for another thread! ;-)
I know these other games aren`t balanced either, but I am definately not looking forward to play another month against Dr.Boom and Rexxar. I will go and try them out for sure and leave HS if they are at least a little bit of fun.
Not confirmed nor i know if it is true, but there are few lines stating that E-Sports HS is not big as Blizzard hoped and that earnings are going down, also it says that Legendary cards will be tied to adventure, like a paid content(only with real money).
I suppose that was their original model. It would be intriguing if they decided to go back to it. Maybe they realised that most players could earn packs without paying much money too easily. Who knows?
How is it possible to enjoy two different games?! We must only play ONE game. All of our time must be for just ONE game. Everyone only plays one game. What kind of nonsense is this that there are people out there who play more than just ONE game. Nonsense entirely. ONE GAME. ONE GAME. ONE GAME. ONE GAME. MUST ONLY PLAY ONE GAME.
Like I bought a playstation, right. It came with 2 games and I got really confused as why they would include 2 games. I froze in panic. Quickly I threw one of the games away so that I only had ONE game. MUST ONLY PLAY ONE GAME.
Then I was on facebook and some yahoo was selling his Xbox with a collection of games. I reported him immediately to the gaming police for having more than ONE game. MUST ONLY PLAY ONE GAME.
Don't get me started on Steam and their library of games for each account. I reported that nonsense straight to the secret service as a breach of national security. MUST ONLY PLAY ONE GAME.
Thank you for the heads up on streamers playing more than ONE game. I am writing up my report to the GBI (gaming bureau of intelligence) to get that stopped ASAP. MUST ONLY PLAY ONE GAME.
Okay.. okay I confess.. once in a day I played Hearthstone AND another game. Yes, I played more than ONE game once. I am so ashamed. I will turn myself in tomorrow morning to the proper authorities for this outright disrespect for gaming laws. MUST ONLY PLAY ONE GAME.
I've only watched AutoChess back in its early days, not any of the copycats. I suspect the copycats have made a lot of improvements, but I still think the genre is boring as hell to watch. It's like watching someone fill in a spreadsheet. And I was watching Hafu and Amaz among others, so these weren't amateur streamers by any means. These were people who know how to make interesting content.
I may be in the minority here, but I'm proof that there is at least one person who would never jump that fence.
More importantly, I think it's a mistake to believe the success of a game is tied so closely to the actions and decisions of influencers. Players are still capable of making their own decisions, even in this day and age. I also think Blizzard has been overemphasizing esports, and it's not a bad thing if they finally realize that's not the wave of the future where Hearthstone is concerned.
In the end, the more they realize that Hearthstone's profits come from selling Hearthstone cards -- and that selling cards is directly related to making it a solid game -- the better off we all will be.
It feels like Hearthstone is dying a slow death on Twitch.
I heard that argument, AutoChess being more interesting (e.g. Savjz quit HS and plays/played AutoChess). But now I think with the Teamfight games it was a too big of a blow to HS on Twitch.
Further, I learned the Grandmasters players aren't allowed to stream HS themselves during the GM weekends. I don't know if Blizzard is blind, but they literally force the well-known players to play something else on Twitch - since most of them are streamers and that's their main income. A big mistake in my opinion.
It is sad to witness to see my favourite streamers jump off to play other games. The streamers kinda have been my main motivation to play HS when I have seen a fun deck on stream and wanted to play again. Even if the meta was annoying I still had fun watching streams.
Autochess is confusing to watch and boring. Maybe I just haven't gotten into the game as a spectator. I don't plan on playing it myself.
What the rise of these games demonstrates is just a hunger from players for something new. Hearthstone is good but people want more good games to play.
Until another games comes in and allows an accessible format or CCG that beats Hearthstone in art style, simplicity, and scaling difficulty, the simple answer is no.
Hearthstone isn't necessarily the best at any of these things (art is subjective in nature, plenty of games are as simple or simpler to grasp and become proficient at, plenty of games have arguably better learning curves once you start playing their ranked modes), but they have clout and a great formula for not just selling this game, but keeping players coming back.
Time and again I see posts online about players saying "I was away for a while, but then I came back," and then others will post about leaving for various reasons, invariably coming back again. I've seen my friends list fluctuate from 3-5 people online every day over months to 10+ on a slow day (I don't add many people, since I like to keep a list of people who will interact with me once in a while). People will complain about balance and class favoritism and more recent complaints about the game becoming "too P.C." (I'm loving this one, btw; keep it up, complainers!), but they always come back. Even those who leave the game stick around in the forums and talk about the meta and card reveals, etc. It has a magnetic quality that few other games (particularly CCG and auto-chess) have.
It might sound like I'm praising Blizzard for the ultimate game (it's most certainly not, just one of my favorites), so don't misunderstand. I'm just stating qualities in the game that have helped make it an indomitable force, especially on YouTube and Twitch. Savjz left Hearthstone for Magic. Lifecoach... sorry, Ropecoach left when shaman was no longer utterly broken to play Gwent.
Every new game is called the new Hearthstone killer, and every new game to-date has been anything but that. Eventually something will come, but for now auto-chess is a temporary rival. Hearthstone has Trolden moments to support the more "boring" streams and video clips on YouTube of average matches. I'm not sure auto-chess has that.

Indeed, games this big don't just suddenly die.
People have been wondering about a possible WoW-killer since 2005, and it hasn't happened. In fact, there will soon be two full versions of the game because people still enjoy it so much.
AutoChess as a genre is only a few months old. It's far too early to consider it anything more than a fad. Maybe it will have staying power, but it's not going to "kill" any other genre.

Also, Autochess has been around for a fair while now, and some streamers who initally went to try it also came straight back to Hearthstone, like Trump.
I don't think Hearthstone's in any trouble and there will always be streamers / youtubers doing Hearthstone vids (for as long as Hearthstone is played / remains as an eSport).

Just a general discussion.
Many Hearthstone streamers upload content on their Youtube channel with these games recently.
Artifact died because it was too expensive, but these games are free, they can build a bigger playerbase, so they live longer.
What do you think? Will some streamer leave HS for these games, or they are just going to be the filler games, when HS ladder gets boring?

Well you don't need Master Card to play those games at good rank, which I like very much (although I have 22k dust in HS)
The goal of all life is death.
Hopefully. If the leaks are true about Hearthstone future, than it will be bad for players.
Can you clarify?

I agree AutoChess are definitely fun to play but boring as hell to watch.

I don't know about Twitch per se, bt Youtube definitely still has loads of Hearthstone videos - it's my daily viewing on lunch breaks at work! :-)
Why did Savjz quit HS (( . He was funny
