So it seems to me that of all the buffs that have been announced, Warlock appears to come off pretty near the bottom of the fortune pack, but of the 2 cards receiving special treatment, I was intrigued to notice Dr. Morrigan being one of them.
To recap, the intended buff is to reduce her mana cost from 8 mana down to 2. Now this makes her a 5/5 for 6. Not particularly great stats for a 6 drop, but not terrible. So it has to really be about her ability. Is it still utter trash even at this cost? It's one of those cards that I find myself thinking it would be so cool to find an actual good use for her. However, most of the cards that you might want to utilise, such as Malygos are not really supported so well by the Warlock class.
Perhaps a Control Deck focussing on fatigue, and adding more of her to the deck? Or something similar? Any ideas on what might synergise well with her? I'm determined to find something useful somewhere...
So here is the thing with her that I think most people are perhaps ignoring. She works very much like Cairne. You have a 6 mana 4/5 that leaves behind a 4/5 body. Morrigan does something similar, but you have less control over what is dumped onto the board. Except if you build your deck to take advantage of this.
I was thinking maybe Faceless Manipulator on turn 10 with the coin. You still play the Giant control package, but throw this in as a way to beat fatigue, without throwing in Elysiana or Plot Twist and Elek.
This also plays well with the 8 drop Betrug, because if she is summoned because of Betrug's effect, you get another minion for free. So you play more deathrattle style Warlock, rather than a battlecry version.
I am going to put together a list to see if I can make sense of it.
You cannot. Dr.Morrigan is on the same level as Harbinger Celestia.. You could make her a 3 Mana 5/5 and she wouldn't be playable.
I do feel you though dude. I have a massive soft spot for both Lorewalker Cho and the aforementioned Harbinger Celestia and put them in all my decks regardless... 🤔
I personally don't have much faith in the card. if you are going to play a card like this, you want to be able to do it cheap, otherwise, it kind of defeats the purpose of recruiting minions in the first place.
if you are going to spend 6 mana, then spend more resources killing her, why not just play the big minion you are recruiting?

Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
I actually pulled a Lorewalker Cho from a Tavern Brawl pack the other day and was thrilled (it's one of the only Classic legendaries I don't have. I think the other is Millhouse Manastorm lol!

I feel like there is the smatterings of something here... I need to think more about this interaction and if there is a good way to abuse it along with plot twists etc... hmmmm

This is a rough draft, but the thought is stay alive with spells and doomsayer in the early game. Then use the Doctor, Betrug and Soularium to get some free value. Not sure if this is a good list, but this is where my head was going.
As a 6 mana 5/5 with a deathrattle summon another minion, you should compare her to Cairne Bloodhoof. In order to be better you'll have to tweak your deck in such a way. I don't think that worth it.
Hey, I actually like Spirit Bomb's change. Right now, since it costs 2 mana, it doesn't feel that rewarding in comparison to Shadow Bolt. But with the cost decrease, this can actually be included in a control or a suicidal deck. I don't think this will happen right after the buff patch arrives, but maybe next expansion when warlock gets more healing tools. I would definitely run it due to its cheap cost.
As for Dr. Morrigan - for now I can see her being used in wild Darkest Hour decks, since she enables some synergies there. If the opponent casts a board wipe, she can leave a big minion behind herself; in combination with the epic spell she can summon 2 big bodies and if a person draws her before the combo is cast, then a 6 mana 5/5 with a strong recruit deathrattle doesn't sound bad. Some people speculate, that this archtype will get some support over the year in standard, but we will see.
Warlock just doesn't really have any synergy with her. In theory she could pull out a big minion but given that it's random, you'd have to go Big Warlock or something and I don't see that really working properly.
As a 6 Mana card, Dr. Morrigan is arguably better than Cairne Bloodhoof. You have +1 attack, you can get something even bigger and stronger out of your deck than a Chillwind Yeti, AND Dr. Morrigan goes back into your deck and can be played again. Since she doesn't really die as long as you have minions in your deck, she is also a good target for minion-sacrificing cards like Unwilling Sacrifice or Shadowflame.
The downside: Cairne isn't particularly good anymore in this day and age. And you probably want to use smaller minions than Yetis when playing Warlock. Also, you would want to focus on deathrattle minions and avoid battlecries which is a high price to pay.
For 6 mana, Morrigan could actually be quite good by vanilla standards. But the game has moved on; you need to do better to gain an advantage than playing a better Cairne.
Anyway, that's the approach I would take now to assess her potential - good for value-oriented deathrattle-decks, which will probably not have much sucess for the remainder of the year in Standard, and are borderline hopeless in Wild. If she was released 2015 with the new design, she could have been decent.
I could see her being used with Plot Twist in some way.
I have 2 Plot Twist decks (Wild an Standard) and Dr. Morrigan is actually very strong If you summon extra copies from Dollmaster Dorian or Fel Lord Betrug. Now that Dr. morrigan costs 6 mana you can actually play this card from hand if you draw it.
Dr. Morrigan after buff -- 6 mana 5/5: Recruit a minion, shuffle this card into your deck
Lackey was obviously a good card in the right deck. Dr. Morrigan can be now as well. Obviously you want to go big with lower cost removal. Probably Handlock with giants. I guess the Betrug/Plot Twist deck isn't good yet. Hopefully it gets some support and then Dr. Morrigan can shine.
In Wild, there is far more support, but in Standard, there are a few tools that the deck lacks. I do think that after the buffs come out, I will be slotting in the Spirit Bomb instead of Shadow Bolt, so I can still tap and remove minions in the same turn.
What about the list, is Faceless worth it for the 'infinite' value potential? There is a risk with her though, that you pull out Doomsayers and the Faceless if you only run 1.
I am thinking of maybe cutting Doomsayer entirely, and running 2 Faceless. Also, throwing in even more removal at the lower end and forget about the Weapon Destruction.
I think the problem is that she's in the wrong class. Warlock can't really do all that much with her other than Plot Twist.
On the contrary, I think she's an ideal card for Handlock. Nothing but spells at the low end of your curve, and big scary minions at the high end. I'm pretty sure that's the intent behind her design.

The only thing keeping her back right now is just the lack of control cards in Warlock right now. The class is in a state similar to back in Un'goro where the only slightly viable deck is zoolock and even that is questionable. The class has good payoffs in things like Omega Agent but just lacks the tools to really get there and then sustain themselves once they get there. Once(if) warlock gets to that point, I think Dr. Morrigan can easily see some play.

I don't have something witty about this deck, I just like it because Malygos is fun.

the last two classic legendaries I opened were Millhouse Manastorm and Lorewalker Cho.

Heh - I have a feeling my next will logically be Millhouse as he is the only one I don't have now (to my knowledge). I need to check..

If you want to go anti-fatigue Warlock, Plot Twist + Augmented Elekk is better.

If only Togwaggle's Scheme was a Warlock card, lol!

[edit] I could also see her being used in a greedy Evenlock, because she could pull out The Lich King, Ragnaros the Firelord and some giants, but this might be a bad idea, since the deck runs many cheap minions like Sunfury Protector, Vulgar Homunculus etc).
I think the problem is that she's in the wrong class. Warlock can't really do all that much with her other than Plot Twist.
Priest could make copies, Rogue could shuffle extra copies into the deck with Togwaggle's Scheme, Paladin could combine her with Da Undatakah and Immortal Prelate.
