They improved their formula, they listened to the feedback, honestly the adventure is already so good and only 10% of it all is available, I'm very pleased personally.
I haven't bought the adventure yet, but having played the first chapter, I think it's very well made and fun. It is definitely not a "dungeon run 2.0", lol.
It brings some new cool stuff to the table, like having a chance to edit your deck in the tavern which we haven't seen before. Saying that there is little innovation is absurd! The things that have been added, do justify the cost of the adventure in my opinion. With the stuff that were added to this adventure, putting it out for free would be charity...
What's the point of complaining about this adventure? It is just plain silly. You don't have to buy it or play it. You can just skip it and forget that it has ever been released and you will not find yourself in a disadvantage on ladder, like it was the case with Blackrock Mountain or Naxxramas.
Lastly, you guys must know that not everything the developers make should satisfy the neckbeards that only care about the competitive side of the game. There are plenty of players who play this game for fun and don't put as many hours into the game. That being said, the legendary is great for many players who want to try the competitive decks, so don't call it trash because youdon't find it useful.
Anyway, I think this content is an improvement on all sides to everything else we've had thus far.

People seem to forget that Blizzard dropped the old adventures on purpose, because many players (f2p) felt being forced to grind gold or spend money on them to keep up with the "p2w crowd". That doesn't go very well in accordance with the casual theme of HS. Also, they have stated that the feedback on dungeon run was so overwhelmingly positive that future adventures will use them as core, so...
I have purchased the Violet hold with gold. For now, the normal mode is too easy. I had a bad hunter deck and steamrolled the wing. That deck would not be passed the third boss in the dungeon run. I suppose heroic is an option but I like much more the Dungeon Run difficulty balance.
I always like having more single player content, but I do feel like this was a missed opportunity. The tavern system could have been a lot more in-depth, but as it is it doesn't feel like it makes much of a difference. I would have liked to see the chance to swap out your passive abilities or hero power.
The content is still an improvement from last "dungeon runs" but that's not the point of the discussion. AbusingKel said all the things that I wanted to say.
Regarding all the people saying "if you don't want it don't buy it" etc. etc. What you say is true but what I'm complaining about is that Blizzard's business model makes no sense at all. They are trying to sell something that was free before and I haven't seen anyone point this out, so I thought I'd share my opinion. As more and more people are essentially agreeing with me I think Blizzard really missed and opportunity with the Dalaran Heist and I hope they won't keep on doing this in future expansions.
Adding a bartender and some hero powers is not new content, it's lazy design. Putting a price tag on this sad thing is even worse.
The first wing is free, and it has quite a lot of replayability. The only thing you're 'losing out' on by not paying for the rest of it is the Legendary, which has absolutely no bearing on the game, and if you really want it I'm sure you can just craft it.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
I've been having a damn good time in the Dalaran Bank. I'm not crazy about purchasing more content, but I get that Blizzard is a business and not a charity, and they are not obligated to give me free content, or a damn thing, really.
Yeah, new adventure is a big let-down! I don't think the value is bad, but having to fight 8 random bosses with very little creativity put into them is quite disappointing(I think the Kobolds Dungeon Run was great, but after 4 expansions with the same thing it's getting annoying). I miss the crazy bosses we had back in the actual Adventure days!
Was going to buy this straight up with real money. Played the free chapter one, cleared it on first try, It feels the same as old dungeon run. Yeah, gonna get the free 3 packs and not gonna play it again.
it's supposed to be easy so everyone can complete it for their 3 packs. If you want something harder, you need to wait for heroic mode. derp.
Just to make sure - there's no way to obtain the golden Zayle, Shadow Cloak for HS gold just yet, right? I've bought the 2nd wing but I'm unable to unlock the further ones. I'm not missing anything, am I?
Was it really to hard to add some unlockable new cards to those wings that we could use out of PvE too?
Cards like; Something Imp 3 mana 2/2 Battlecry: Deal 4 damage, discard a card or Something Wyrm Epic 3 mana 3/2, Your opponent -2 spell damage...
free standard cards for just the first chapter and not the others? now you are potentially confusing people into thinking they need to buy the other chapters to get more standard cards and then you fill the forums with confused people saying it's pay to win because they didnt like the first chapter but need to buy the rest to get their cards. your suggestion introduces more problems than it solves.
Sorry that Blizzard doesn't hire out table dancers for you with your solo adventure purchase and ensure that you will get golden everything.
It's a game, this type of dungeon has shown to have a high level of replay vs the old NAxxasramus style adventures. I still go back and play the Kobalds and Witchwood hunt. It's fun.

I'm enjoying the replayability, and unlocking new hero powers and decks within a single wing is cool.
My only complaint is that it's way too easy. I've not lost a run yet. I guess I'll have a go at Heroic mode.

The heroic mode is for this adventure is very fun challenging. You basicly cant lose if you play on normal but heroic is awesome :)

That's exactly what they should NOT do. Remember when you had to pay with money or gold to get cards like Flamewaker?

If you enjoy the solo content then it's easy to get $20 worth of entertainment.
Yes, I remember and despite being F2P at that time I was absolutely OK with that. Collecting 700 gold a week for F2P player shouldn't be an issue.
