I was finding it incredible boring basically coin flipping with tempo rogue - warrior = loss ( usually) every other class = free win (usually) but recently I've been having a lot of fun with a super greedy anti-control rogue list. Managed to get legend with it on EU with a fairly solid winrate and had a blast with it despite it not being meta/optimised.
I'll upload it to my profile so you can try it out :)
This is the most difficulty I've had with homebrewing in standard in the past few years. I'm finding it really hard to make viable decks as many of my favourite archetypes for each class got majorly crippled in the rotation. Despite new cards to help them out, Big Warrior, Prelate Paladin, and Pogo Rogue are in a pretty weak place.
I've actually had some fun with Prelate Paladin this expansion. It's likely not a deck you're taking all the way to legend, but it's very much a viable deck. It can really steamroll over the Control Warriors as well, as they play slow, and every time you play Da Undatakah, clearing the board just means more and more 7/7s or 8/8s depending on if you play Mechano-Egg or Mechanical Whelp in your deck. And the addition of Lightforged Blessing can give your Undatakah and/or Prelate a never ending lifesteal effect as well. Call to Adventure even helps as it often pulls my Prelate, buffing it before I play it the first time, or adding to the buffs it already has.
It's definitely still too slow against aggro, but a few tweaks with cards like Spikeridged Steed can make it a pretty decent Wild deck too. Except in that environment your Big Priest opponent often get their giant board going before you can even draw most of your vital pieces.
I feel like a completely new design team has taken over at Blizzard and that the new team doesn't like hero cards (where as the old team loved them) and now we are stuck until they either print new value generating hero cards for the other classes or we have to wait until next April 2020 for them to be rotated out of standard.
Dr Boom is by far the worst culprit. Yes it is a bit RNG but you're still going to find mechs and you're still going to get 7 armour for 2 mana but all the mechs having rush as well is bonkers. Hagatha is really good, but only good when you have minions to generate the spells, it does run dry eventually. Zul'Jin is like going all in at poker, sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn't. I won't even mention Jaraxxus.
Now we are left with a Rogue (as it beats pretty much everything else consistantly) and Warrior (as it's the counter to Rogue) meta.
Nope because i stopped playing after the second week. Reached legend 10 days after expansion, saw the ridiculous power gap of warrior and rogue and i saved my self by dropping hs again.
Btw we ''whiners'' who shouted about rogue and warrior since week 1, were proven right. The meta is exactly the same since week 1.
I do wonder, if i am that can't really find an interesting deck to play. I did try to build a lot of unique decks, but everyone of them sucked. I feel like all the interesting cards (interesting in my point of view obviously) suck. I always had some decks i enjoyed, but somehow i struggle with that somehow.
Btw. Before you scream i am salty, i am not. I am just curious if the current decks seem interesting to you. I am also not saying that it sucks balance wise. The tempo rogue deck at least lets you do something :P
what decks did you try? Maybe I and some others can get some inspiration by the decklists
I'm having fun with Jepetto Spell Hunter at around rank 5 right now with about a 50% winrate

Currently, the top 6 decks of the Meta Tier list on HS Replay are
Secret Hunter
Mech Hunter
Token Druid
Murloc Shaman
Control Warrior
Tempo Rogue
Control Warrior match up against the two Hunter decks is favored, however, it looks like the Warriors lose most of the time to Druid and Shaman. Rogue is favored against the Shaman and Mech Hunter. And of course Control Warrior beats Tempo Rogue on a regular basis. Week 1 the top meta deck was Bomb Warrior, which actually comes in at #8 right now.
So while they are still strong classes, they by no means have a power gap that is unbeatable. And while Rogue and Warrior might make up a large percent of games played, other decks are rising up to challenge them in the meta.
I think people in here just get bored too easily or are afraid to play something a little off the WHOAMG 100% WINRATE PERFECT deck.
There are interesting things going on with Paladin and all it's buff stuff. Cyclone mage is an awesome and fun improvement over the specters dragon version. There are like 3 or 4 different types of Rogues you can play that are all viable. There are like 3 very different and viable hunter decks - and then secret versions of those. Shaman has a lot going on. Muckmorpher is as cool a card as we've seen in a bit. Believe it or not, there are non-control warriors you can play. Nomi Priest is fun as hell. Even if most other priest decks suck.
Druid and Warlock are pretty blech. Druid is mostly uninteresting except for Lucentbark. But in the good classes, there's a lot of wiggle room for fun.
I had the exact same thought recently. I have all the cards for any decent deck (and by that I mean with a winrate above 45%) and there is not a single one I would want to play. Repetitive.
I get ya, lost interest pretty quickly this expansion idk why. Probably the amount of unwinnable games bummed me out or something.
Its true that if YOU play the game for quite some time every meta will be boring after a month or so. We just have to get use to it cuz changes ill not happen every month.
I was also a bit tired of the meta and thought the decks were kind of boring until I started playing things like Big Shaman and Khadgar Mage. I think these decks have the best balance between RNG and Consistency in the current meta and they have been extremely fun to play

I tried to build a control shaman with mega windfury as a finsiher, emeriss hunter, bwomsamdi gallery priest, dragon paladin, handbuff paladin, control paladin, heal paladin liam hakkar paladin and some kind of boomzooka hunter. i know not all cards are supposed to be insanly strong, but it is such a bummer when you collect many cards and more than half of them are not even playable.
Even with Rogue being very overtuned, it's still a pretty good metagame. A lot of decks are ladder viable.
I think, with a few small tweaks we could be in a very good place.
I am not talking about how good or balanced it is, because in that aspect i find it quite acceptable. Rogue is dominant, but it is not a deck were you feel helpless, which i find refreshing. But the decks itself are rather dull. Not many interesting interactions or synergys you can put in your deck.
I feel the opposite. I think there are plenty of interesting things you can do, but it's really hard to try much because of all the Rogues and Warriors. The most fun decks that are actually playable right now (to me) are Hunter, Mage and Paladin. Warlock has some interesting tricks, but it's only barely playable. Shaman got so choked with Murloc bullshit, there was no room left in the expansion for anything interesting.

For me, meta is good balanced. Yeah, rogue and warriors are dominant and they should get nerf hammered a little, but still, meta is rly good now, alot of diff decks. Even if blizz doesnt nerf those 2, meta is still good ( for me), and i enjoy playing alot of decks.
That being said, i enjoy the most meme deck - restoration druid. From meta decks, i enjoy playing mech palladin (with Da Undatakah LOOOOL), summoner mage, spell hunter ( no secret), tog infinite rogue, freeze mage... rly alot variant decks i do enjoy :)
I like it because the meta more or less feels 'solved' in a sense that when I queue into a matchup, I know what my win condition is, what I'm mulliganing for, what my outs are, and what threats I need to save my removal for.

Buff Prelate Paladin is pretty cool at the moment. And Big/Mechathun Warrior is a giggle as well.
I'm having fun honestly. But each to thier own I guess. If you want to find flaws in something you will.

if you dont enjoy atm, take a break.
I don't hate this meta. Yes, there are a TON of Hunters, Rogues, and Warriors, but it isn't that crazy lopsided.
Look. I'll take this meta over the Pirate Warrior Reign, the Midrange Shaman only meta, and Deathstalker Rexxar decks any day of the week!!!
Just like all of them, or none of them, depends on you
