I've been playing for probably 4 years now, but never found the right deck or the time or motivation to make the climb. Always felt too long and too hard. Then with Rise of Shadows, one of my favorite old archetypes re-emerged in token druid, so I decided to go for golden druid (I was around 425 wins at the time). I did NOT plan to climb to legend.
But then, a crazy thing happened. By the time I finished my golden druid, I was rank 3 (although the meta had already turned hostile to token druid at that point). So, after completing my 500 wins, I switched to rogue (and I had less than 100 wins with rogue, so I was inexperienced at it). And from Rank 3, 3 stars, with a 24-11 record, I climbed to legend! Feels amazing to finally check off that box in my hearthstone gameplay history.
Edit: if anyone wants to see it, here's the list I used for the climb.
Yeah i also climbed a lot with token druid but since i cant play much time each day ive come to a hault where evey opponent os either a bad matchup or has a tech card like mossy geddon batteehead etc to beat tokens. Thought of playing rogue but damn those warriors are so many. Of course if i play warrior i just face mech hunter or mech paladin. How i loathe low ranks no meta means no deck is stable.
I remember hitting legend the first time, it was with star aligner druid, man that deck was OP. but I had a good time playing it, and I have not had the motivation to hit legend since, I am just glad to have the cardback.
