Yeah cause it's super fun to get demolished by a Dr. Boom, Mad Genius on curve, the only reason Control Warrior is on such a good spot nowdays is because of that card, the games where you don't draw Boom early enough are for sure way harder, the card is just insane and provides infinite value.
I am sorry you are sad, but they were very bad for the game.
Were the three I listed really that bad for the game? Some were yes, I accept that...
Uther's no-interaction win condition was bad for the game, even if the winrate wasn't super high. There are few things I hate more than uninteractive win conditions. If Uther was just a big weapon and better hero power minions, that'd be fine.
*Ahem* Mojomaster Zihi single handedly won games against both forms of Uther OTK decks. If they were the Holy Wrath variant just Zihi them when they were about to shuffle their tiger back into their deck & enjoy your free win, or if the Horsemen OTK variant just Zihi when they have 3 or 4 of the pieces in their hand. Demonic Project rekted the Horsemen variant too.
Let's please not use inaccurate buzz catchphrases to describe decks when there were both hard and soft counters that actually did allow interaction. The key is being willing to actually run tech cards and play around the meta, as well as using your tech intelligently instead of like how the noobs used Dirty Rat when it was in standard (ie Dropping it and praying to hit a combo piece before waiting to get a read on what your opponent has in their hand based on how they had been playing the game out).

Perhaps other control decks should actually run some burst then to push for lethal once in a blue moon then. I don't sympathize with these control strategies that just seek to win by min-maxing value trades and doing little else. If you don't actually try to win the game then your natural punish is infinite value, or OTKs. Pick your poison, since we all need one eventually.
The Hero Cards were boring and broken. Just because some we're better than others is why you only saw half of them. The others we're fun to play but just not as good as the popular ones.
It's like saying you miss the Old Gods, after they ruled the meta for 2 years.

Mage, paladin and priest control need desesperately a hero card to be able fight vs Boom and Hagatha.
I don't like this, or all classes have hero cards or no one should have, it is too much advantage in control matchs.
Aggro or agressive midrange can fight without a hero card but control don't.
