I'm doing very well with espionage rogue. The huge boost to it's early game let's me deal with all but the perfect aggro mulligan, and espionage let's me out value any other control deck.
Yes. If you check out hsreplay at the moment, you will see that hunter, druid, and rogue take the top spots. All aggro. Warrior comes in as the fourth best class. All other ”normal” control classes, such as priest and paladin, are at the bottom.

Blizzard should make a special stream lessons or youtube videos in which they explain the the only way hs should be played is with supa dupa 1000 IQ control/combo homebrewed decks and 30 minutes long match is a minimum time period that proves you're not braindead blah blah something etc.
@Old_Guardian: The 2x Lifedrinker don`t convince me, but I like your content so far. Keep up the good work! :)
Statistics-wise, Lifedrinker is the third-highest performing card in the deck.
Control Shaman needs ways to heal in the early game while retaining a level of tempo. Lifedrinker is a great fit for this, as it takes you further away from the reach of aggressive decks while putting a minion on the board that they either need to deal with or that can help you clear in combination with your spells on the following turn.
Furthermore, Lifedrinker provides healing from Shudderwock later in the game, making it much easier to play Shudderwock while under pressure.
It is not intended to be used as part of an OTK combo, like it was in the old Shudderwock Shaman. The rationale behind the card is completely different, and Shaman does not have any other card to fulfill that specific role.
Control Shaman has good late-game healing in Witch's Brew and Walking Fountain. It is the earlier part of the game that needs help, and Lifedrinker helps you get to your late game.
If that's all it is doing wuldn't Earthring Farseer work as well for 1 mana less? Unless you are afraid that sudderwock heals your opponent to victory somehow?

It is 12 less damage in the opponent and maybe 6 healing to you for 2 manas less, I don't think is a good idea.

Those Cutlasses getting oozed all the time must sting though, no? Tesspionage was my favourite deck of the last expansion but the super aggro meta makes it hard to justify for me in this one.

Is Control Warrior only viable control deck in this meta?
No Shaman too.
Control doesn't exist.
And why would you play it? This game is designed in a way that it favors fast dumb decks.
Freeze Mage is semi decent but needs a good draw.
4/3/19 RIP Keith Flint. 😔

Well even control warrior is somewhat viable. All other control decks are trash tier.
I was claiming that THE EEEEND WAS COMING for control decks when all cards were released. AND I WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG HEHEHEHEEH >:D
Would you mind posting a list?
Control Shaman is good too. Its winrates on statistics sites are poor, because most Control Shaman decks that people use are bad.

Sorry it's a bit late.
