After playing at least 100 games in the new meta with at least 5 different archetypes, I feel pretty confident in saying that this "discover" and "add a random spell, minion, summon a X-cost" has made pretty much every match up inconsistent. Its one thing to play a game with an amount of rng based on draw and match up, but an entire stock of cards for most classes that have random effects makes the game feel terrible and un-fun.
I really tried to enjoy the new meta and it was "exciting" at first, but c'mon. this is just ridiculous
Yeah I've wanted to be excited for this expansion too but I think I'm just so burned out I can't muster it. This isn't when I'd want to take a break but it may be when I have to.
Honestly, what is this 'netdecking' you all speak of? I've always thought it to be a lame reproach.
If Blizzard prints 3 Warrior cards that have a 'bomb' in it's description is it weird that people play Bomb Warrior? Me and a zillion other players made a Bomb Warrior list before the expansion was out and honestly if I see the current decklists I dont see any card I hadnt included or thought of at the time. The same can be said of Token Druid because any player with some hearthstone braincells knew that a card that floods the board twice was gonna be great in a meta without Psychic Scream, Defile, Spreading Plague, Blood Razor, etc. & an expansion that hardly introduced any AoE.
I took a quick look at the current meta and I dont see anything original over there. The only thing I didnt think of personally was including a dragon package in Khadgar Mage. I also didnt expect Mech Pally to do so well but I could have generated a list nonetheless.
Most current meta decks were anticipated beforehand along with 20 others (just check Vicious Syndicate's preview). In the end the best ones of those 30 decks are now the meta. This opens spots for more unconvential decks that do well against this current meta and this is where the 'originality' will begin (and the netdecking will follow).
Hearthstone is a pvp game so you'd be a fool not to copy and try out things from your opponent's decks that you thought looked pretty nice. Wether it be the inclusion of a card in a deck type you were already playing or a whole new decktype.
What do you want? That all players lock in an amount of decks at the start of each expansion and are never able to change them because that would be netdecking?
Imagine a football coach complaining about the other team for using a 'Zidane dribble' or a 4-4-2 formation because they didnt come up with it themselves. That's how you sound to me when you complain about netdecking.
I hope you find back your fun but if you get annoyed by netdecking I would say this is not the right game for you.
When rotation happens in the Spring each year the card pool will be at its smallest. It makes sense that there will be less variation in what your opponents will be playing at this time as most classes only have one, maybe two viable decks. Personally I just play whatever and have fun with it. I used to try-hard and get worked up over every loss, but once I just decided to play for fun and worry less about what my opponents play or do I started enjoying the game a lot more. Sure, I don't win as much but it's a wonderful feeling to be free of the stress and anxiety of the ladder grind. I suggest you take a few months off or just focus on playing for fun and not competitively to let your batteries recharge.
I just dislike the amount of removal and value generation Warrior has compared to every other class, even when those are playing heavy value Control as well.
And Elysiana made things even worse, games coming down to who gets better RNG or decide to include bounces to make the game go even fucking longer. She really needs to go to 10 mana to avoid copies/bounces and/or generate less cards.
I think because of the rotation and the cardpool that is at the lowest it will be this cycle there where few decks that haden't been made prior to the release.
Like some random tier 2 or even tier 1 deck that pops up after 2 weeks.
And then there is also the build in netdecker from blizzard which atleast gives an idea where to go with a deck,
What bothers me the most is that even though i spent 50 euros on the pre-purchase i still feel like i'm a free-to-play player. The amount of useful cards you get from 50 packs is just extraordinarily bad. If i want to try some of the more interesting decks i see streamers play i have to disenchant so many of my old cards to craft the 4 extra epics and 5 legendaries i need for them.
Otherwise i might just play token druid or zoo warlock with only basic/common cards.

What you are saying bears no resemblance to reality.
The match-ups in the current meta are extremely consistent. Khadgar Mage always beats Warrior. Any Warrior nearly always beats any Rogue.

I think it is a bit of burnout because I am right there with you. For so long I've played on release again and again and again, but this time it is feeling different to me. I also felt that the "mini-meta" got solved super fast and more people than ever are getting their bearings in ranked 5 in historically quick fashion. The obnoxious part for me is the amount of hard control, surprisingly. For most aggro they pop off sometimes or do nothing and it feels pretty even. However, I find myself getting frustrated more often by running into hard control because they are the unfamiliar archetypes or blossoming play styles. You spend half the game knowing they are going to do something strange, but by the time you figure it out you're locked out of a win. Of course "go face" is the answer to this, but when a meta starts you just aren't familiar with the play style of some control decks. Other than the personal salt, Rise of Shadows needs to be dug into more by its players. So far I think we have scratched the surface of the possibilities and I hope the less obvious decks make their way into the meta. I feel that a lot of the frustration described from the community comes from 3 classes that are, funny enough, in 3 different scenarios of unbalance...
1. Warrior. It isn't necessarily unbalanced, but it is the new craze archetype that makes tons and tons of decks show up. Running into bomb warrior 24/7 isn't fun because eventually it gets boring to see. Straight control Warrior doesn't feel new. Any other version just hasn't proven to be viable yet so the early meta is stuck with a long-game/repetitive archetype for this class.
2. Rogue. It is pretty tilting anytime someone can end a game by casting 2-4 Leeroys... Miracle style decks- yes I know its called Tempo Rogue, but its really a miracle deck- seem to be the most tilting because the game looks like it is going well until a massive 20+ damage turn comes out of aggro. It isn't very interactive to play against because every turn after 7 you're thinking "how does this Rogue kill me next turn" when you are still at a healthy 20+ hp. I think that frustration alone is the only thing going poorly for this class. Tempo usually sticks every meta.
3. Druid. Every one hates the "brainless archetype" flavor. I play a decent amount of Token and I definitely see where the frustration is. People have to slam into 1/1s with their 8/8 giant because they fear the buff and stuff this class pulls out. It is pretty annoying, but can definitely be counter-queued if you catch that you're seeing a decent amount of these decks. Very strong deck, but honestly Token Druid hasn't been truly competitive in a while so I will give them this one. Even the first iteration of Whispering Woods Druid was a tournament filler deck. It was made to catch people off-guard- not to be meta breaking.
So this frustration aside it is a half-decent time to be playing the game. I just hope we get more development across the next few weeks, and an early nerf like they did in Rastakhan to shake things up again.

I completely agree. Disguised Toast even claimed this was the "least rng meta" and I couldn't feel it was further than the truth. Mage finds a way to high roll with minion creation, rogue can execute you at high health totals if it can pick bounce the right minions, and warrior games are a speed test to see if you can finish them before Boom lands. This doesn't even exemplify the amount of random card creation, spell generation, and secret generation that is completely blind to play against. It is starting to feel like the Karazhan meta again and that terrifies me.
I started the week before Rastakhan and this is the most fun I have had with HS. I get the way you are feeling tho with games now. I'm 35 and my attention span is less and less for games these days. I have to move around a lot with games or else I lose interest in them quickly.
I honestly feel like there should be a seperate mode where non netdeck decks are the only decks playable
The only problem with that is even with such a system eventually people wanting to be competitive in that mode would optimize lists made from the cards that would be playable, thus recreating net decks (just ones that are limited to a smaller card power of less powerful cards). Even with a rotating ban type of system there would still be net decks in between the old and new ban waves. It honestly is something you cannot avoid.
It's RNG overkill probably, but it's too much of a good thing, not a bad thing. Discovers and random spell/minion generation are the spice of Hearthstone. You want the game to be spicy, not bland, but there's definitely such a thing as too spicy.

Professional Rank 20 Player
Everyone gets in here is the most tiresome thing even happened in hearthstone.
The rest is bearable.

HS got ruined and was never the same from ‘Mean Streets Of Gadgetzan’ onwards.

Mode where you have 50 cards, more health, may not be for everyone but would make it hard to net deck as much as it is now ?
